The jackass Brandel has never been on any Ryder Cup team, much less knows anything about team golf other than his speculation as a spectator. Duval on the other hand has experienced it and should know the make up of what goes into winning a team competition. Kinda like folks that never had children trying to tell someone who has them, how to raise them. Smh.
I love duval and agree with him completely but that was a dumb statement. I hate brandel but stating "I understand youre never wrong" is a weak argument.
I am not a Duval fan but I just became one in this clip. I totally agree with David on this one. I think the issue is more about the top americans not being able to play well with a partner. They did pretty well in the singles. Tiger can put himself in trouble and get out of it but he couldnt put his partner in trouble and get out of it
I have always appreciated David Duval after he did one special thing. In the year that Duval won the Open Championship, he was also scheduled to play in the Canadian Skins Game which was scheduled for the Monday after the Open. Duval showed up with the Claret Jug in tow. A class act.
Branded feuding with all these tour pros. My favorite was when Rory defended Tiger saying “if it weren’t for tiger, people wouldn’t know who he was” or something like that.
Duval is speaking from personal playing experience in the Ryder Cup. Brandel has no such experience other than as a viewer just like the rest of us. Brandel is a know it none.
I so agree. When DD was on, there wasn't anyone better (including Tiger) and he's right, its not always the top ranked guys that are the leaders. Brandel does make a good point about how it was that way in the past but Tiger and Phil are different guys. Phil's changed some more into a leader as he has matured and Tiger has too, if his performance as an assistant captain at the Ryder Cup this past fall is any indication.
@@joshgarbemusic Chamblee was one of dozens of slightly older journeymen players who were able to stay out on tour before Tiger came along. The game changed. The ball changed. The clubs changed. The courses changed, and the game became more about raw power. Chamblee and those like him could no longer compete at the level needed to stay out there. It happened in a very short period of time, and was shocking to those players who couldn't keep up. In Chamblee's case, and I say this having listened to his commentary for nearly 20 years, I think he carries a bit of a grudge against Tiger. He's always expressed a hint of glee when Tiger's doing poorly either personally or out on tour. This is of course just my individual opinion.
This clip showing up in my suggested videos confirms my phone is listening in on me. I’ve been playing an audiobook about the Ryder Cup and this conversation was written in the chapter I was listening to yesterday.
I have always like David Duval. I wish he never would have lost his top form. He was such a great player and just an all around humble guy. Now he's one deserving of an analyst spot.
The British and Wales Ryder Cup team got much better once they included all of Europe and subsequently you cannot compare Arnold Palmer Ryder Cup against the American players since 1979 and later, although I think Palmer and Nicklaus and the Americans would still of won. But a really good group of European golfers showed up at the same time Seve, Faldo, Woosen, Langer, Lyle. So the American team had suddenly gone from dominating the Ryder Cup to losing more than it has won the almost last 40 years.
I like it, having an opinion is a good thing. It's not boring fucks who have one sided only views. Disagreement upon one another is good. It's not just entertaining, it develops forward thinking. This is the point of debates. You can live without opinion if you'd like, but him having one doesn't mean he's rude. They're all equally rude to each other. Don't whine about it if you don't want others to have opinions.
It comes down to world-class players in big events being able to make shots and rise to the occasion, simple as that. The captains don’t shoot the shots-the players do.
Chamblee has a beef with Phil going back two years ago when he said that Phil would regret the day he spoke out about Tom watsons team captain leadership.
Gotta go with Duval. He's been there and felt the heat, the pressure. The only heat Chamblee has ever felt is the heat of the studio lights. Case closed !
Sorry but no Brandel...just because you read a 3 books about War doesn't mean you know how it felt to go to war. David Duval has been through the Ryder cup war. You my friend are at a desk.
There are so many variables in golf, a player can stay up too late and cause him a dismal performance. You can't base everything off stats. I agree with Duval totally.
I agree with Duval. It's not always the best player who leads the team. A team wins when there are enough players on the team that steps up and plays well enough to carry it to victory. Anyone who has played golf knows this game is fickle and can leave you at any time. One day it's as if you have never played and the next you are striping it. Can't blame any one player for a rider cup loss.
Brandel has said that to make it to the PGA Tour you have to be a great player. By that definition, every player including Brandel is great. So after greatness, what's the next benchmark?
It almost always comes down to who putts the best. I think there's something to the theory that the players take on the coaches personality. Just look at the 86 bears with Ditka and Ryan. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers with Jon Gruden. The Lakers with Phil Jackson. But that said, the players have to perform.
Brandel is awful smart for a guy who never played at a high level. In today's game, he would have been a web.com player at best, and probably middle of the pack at best...
Brandel makes a fair point, and that is if the US team is going to win, they need their top tier players to win more points. This has been said before by numerous people. Looking back at the last 20 years, the highest ranked US players have been Tiger and Phil. They are great players, but honestly they have not performed in the Ryder Cup like their rankings suggest they should. Duval took this point a little too personally. If Brandel is to be criticized, it's only that he didn't have the social awareness to understand that his co-host would get his feelings hurt, get defensive, and go on to make a scene.
David Duval makes a totally valid point and all Brandal wants to argue is stats. Analytics are great. but in a team match there is no way to measure the position your partner has put you in.
There is a reason why BC is the most hated announcer on The Golf Channel among his peers. He demonstrates it every time he opens his 1 Tour win , pompous mouth.
Brandel might be able to tell us about the Boston Tea Party but not from the experience of being there. He should learn how to listen and defer to someone who actually has the experience that he doesn't.
The two guys brandel is talking negative about, tiger, and Phil have over 130 combined pga tour wins! The guy brandel is arguing with has 14 pga tour wins! Brandel has (1) win! What I take from this ,is that brandel is a good announcer!
David Duval was on 2 Ryder cup teams one of them that won. Brandel... Yeah but he knows what it takes to have a winning Ryder cup team. Alright Brandel😂
Chamblee should look at his own stats and compare them to David's. Then he would have to say 'I'm not fit to lace your shoes Mr Duval, I'm a talker and you're a player please accept my apologies'.
Why does everyone hate on Brandel? He is 100% right about Tiger and Phil having poor Ryder Cup records considering they were the best 2 players of their era.
Doesn’t matter what Duval golfing record is: What he’s saying is clearly correct. Leadership in an individual game counts for very little. Sometimes leadership matters a lot, sometimes it’s little more than decoration.
I think I'll go with Duval here, the guy that actually played in Ryder cups
Former #1 in the world also I believe.
@@citizendissidentiv2488I agree
Brandel "Youre never wrong" haha.Well done David Duval.
Epic comment!!!
The jackass Brandel has never been on any Ryder Cup team, much less knows anything about team golf other than his speculation as a spectator. Clayton Johnson not with chamblee. Dude doesn’t know what humility is.
He (Brandel) is so freaking hatable. 3 pga tour wins and never finished better than 18th in a major.
The look on Nobilo's face is priceless. He freezes like he's stuck in carbonite.
Have always liked David Duval, he went on a stretch where played amazingly. Listening to him speak from experience.... like him even more.
"Well actually having been out there and done it...". Oh shit, daggers in, where do we go from here
When David said that i was like "shots fired"!
I am not a Duval fan but I just became one in this clip. I totally agree with David on this one. I think the issue is more about the top americans not being able to play well with a partner. They did pretty well in the singles. Tiger can put himself in trouble and get out of it but he couldnt put his partner in trouble and get out of it
Nobilo was absolutely LOVING this entire exchange.
Branded Chamblee - a legend in his own mind
I have always appreciated David Duval after he did one special thing.
In the year that Duval won the Open Championship, he was also scheduled to play in the Canadian Skins Game which was scheduled for the Monday after the Open. Duval showed up with the Claret Jug in tow. A class act.
That’s awesome. Character really shines through in those type of obligations. Especially after winning the open.
The guy who never played in a Ryder Cup lecturing a guy who did on multiple occasions (and was ranked #1 in the world at one point). Hilarious…
Branded feuding with all these tour pros. My favorite was when Rory defended Tiger saying “if it weren’t for tiger, people wouldn’t know who he was” or something like that.

Well Brandel was actually an awesome player too, just nowhere near Duval's level.

David Duval could beat Chamblee with a 5 iron and a putter!
He could beat him with a hard-boiled egg and a hockey stick
LOL, love that comment!
Marc Tesio These are pros, you can not assigned all the loss to a specific player. I would take Duval or the other dude every time
Thats not the point. Mickleson and Woods have way underperformed in the Ryder Cup. Thats the point
that's not the issue
Double D is the man
The best part is Nobilo in the middle just trying to keep a straight face.
Lmfao Frank wants a beer BAD😂😂😂😂😂

Brandel Chamblee is the Skip Bayless of the Golf Channel. Smh.
Yet somehow less talented. In the world of hot takes, Skip is Tiger. Brandel is...Brandel. Such a waste of air time.
Lololololol truuuuuuuee
Misinformation.
Who knew you could make golf analysis interesting! Regardless of who's side you come down on, it made for good TV.
Loved DD sticking it to Mr. Pompous!
You're never wrong, I understand that. Ouch....that had to hurt.
Well your never wrong, I understand that.. lmfao
Chamblee is a ding a ling. If I never saw him again on tv it wouldn't bother me one bit.
Chamblee can speak about the Boston Tea Party only because he has listened to the stories and experiences of those who were actually there.
David Duvall said what everybodys thinking.
That was great. Frank nobilo's head on a swivel like watching a tennis match. that's real passion from DD
His face after the boston tea party comment from Brandel kills me LOL
As Rory McElroy pointed t, “if t weren’t for Tiger Woods no one would now who the hell Brandel Chamblee is”...
Time for Brandel to go bye-bye
let's see... David Duval's career vs. Brandel's.... well, it appears Brandel didn't have any leadership... just sit in the booth
Go get em, DD!
And the cherry on top here is that I got Duval’s signature in my caddy hat that week of the Ryder cup.
RIP Brandel.
The British and Wales Ryder Cup team got much better once they included all of Europe and subsequently you cannot compare Arnold Palmer Ryder Cup against the American players since 1979 and later, although I think Palmer and Nicklaus and the Americans would still of won. Get rid of Brandel once and for all.

Yes I agree
The one thing about Brandel is he is the most prepared commentator in golf. You may not agree with his takes but the guy never nails it in.
Well said Brandel
It comes down to world-class players in big events being able to make shots and rise to the occasion, simple as that. The captains don’t shoot the shots-the players do.
Brandle owes his single PGA win to Tiger. Facts!!
This fad of Interrupting each other on TV turns talking with my better half into something idealistic.
Brandel talks the talk but DD walked the walk... Brandel Chamblee is the Skip Bayless of golf...
Duval should have settled this with Chamblee over a drink poured out of his claret jug. Chamblee is the ultimate Monday-morning quarterback.
Lol I love the "actually having been out there and done it" comment.
Love Duval... Well said
Brandel has a good point. Brandel has no grounds to argue it with a man that played on a Ryder Cup
Chamblee has a beef with Phil going back two years ago when he said that Phil would regret the day he spoke out about Tom watsons team captain leadership.
Duval said the things Frank wanted to say for years.
Nick Faldo's team lost in Valhalla. Absurd theory... He just HATES Tiger...
Well they all 3 played on the tour so they each have a valid say . Frank was just quiet ! 😅
Duval had one of the biggest pro career now dive’s in history. Maybe that’s all that he is qualified to speak about with his standards.
100% correct Brandell.
I believe David Duval reached # 1 in the world, anyone know Brandel's highest rankings? lol.
Was never ranked
Gotta go with Duval. He's been there and felt the heat, the pressure. The only heat Chamblee has ever felt is the heat of the studio lights.

ROFL.....Frank Nobilo looks like he is watching a tennis match.
Brandel...when have you been relevant.

How many Ryder cups did Brandel play in.
The leader is frigging critical. I side with Brandel Chamblee on this issue.
David is so much better than Chamble that it’s pitiful
Brandel has said that to make it to the PGA Tour you have to be a great player. By that definition, every player including Brandel is great. So after greatness, what's the next benchmark?
Both guys have a point. But please, somebody give Brandel some light holding gel for the hair!

How many Ryder Cups has Brandel played in?
Zero
Oh yeah, Oh yeah, Oh yeah!!!!!!

The World and Golf "According to Brandel". lol Attempting to TELL a Major Champion "how" it works. ohhh myyyyyy
I hate that fucking guy. Love David Duval.
....and how much Ryder Cup experience do you have Brandel to base your opinions on? Zero? Well now....
Get em David
Brandel makes me wanna fart 💨
Ah. Another video with Brandel "Bad Take" Chamblee.
Well THAT was uncomfortable.
it’s very hard to play with tiger. tiger’s played great in some four-ball matches when his playing partner couldn’t handle the situation.
Seriously.?......surely you would want to play with the best player in the world.
Chamblee was in a very insecure position here from the outset. He wasn't arguing from a position of understanding or experience here.
Duval was a killer, if he never had injury issues, he would have given Tiger a run gir his money. He was fearless.
The Ryder Cup is much more difficult to win as it is no longer US vs UK, all of Europe is involved.
Why does everyone hate on Brandel? He is 100% right about Tiger and Phil having poor Ryder Cup records considering they were the best 2 players of their era.
mkrbrtsn1 And Chamblees point sort of echoes tonight after another dreadful showing at the Ryder Cup. Tiger and Phil a combined 0-6.
oh poor Frank
