      Ive been thinking that for years. Wish theyd show more of the structural framing being done from old to new. Being in the trades makes me curious to see how they go about it all. One hour long episodes would be great. Heck I would watch it for 2 hours lol!!

    Even though I could never be able to afford to live in a place like this, let alone make those kinds of improvements, TOH has always been a calming source of entertainment for me as well as for tips on small scale projects I might do!

    I suppose the stone corner cut off could then be used at the top or bottom of the wall because the flat edge would be beneficial for a clean start or end.

    I really TOH and the people on it, but there has to be some reason why nearly every project is some gaudy monstrosity that no one could ever afford. They are turning the entire property into what looks like a mini mansion combined with the original house. Same with the Jamestown house, there has to be something better to focus on.

    Can someone explain to me what restoration means? I see houses taken apart… like this one 60% if not more. What are you actually saving…”restoring the house”… when basically everything is brand new in the end. That “house style” could be easily copied in a new house… saving a ton of money…What I’m missing here?

    • @sterlingodeaghaidh5086
      @sterlingodeaghaidh5086 9 месяцев назад +2

      Restoration is a catchall term in this application, the appropriate term is Renovation, taking the house, fixing it up, and modifying it to fit a 21st century lifestyle.

    Don't need to see a homeowner picking out paint, wallpaper, cabinets, fixtures, etc....not interesting. Focus on the details of the deconstruction, construction and finishing process. Show the installation of the interior decorating but please not the selection of it. So boring.

    • @bryansavage5056
      @bryansavage5056 8 месяцев назад +1

      They show that because selecting finishes is just as important as building a wall etc. Selecting the tiles informs the carpenters what type of backing that goes behind the tile whether it's dry wall ,concrete backer board etc .

      As a supplier of ppe this is literally 70% of companies. Major things like tying into the roof joists for fall protection I do not see in the vast majority of Job sites I go to. I full disagree with you on this aspect, they are doing more than the vast majority of companies.
      Also osha regulations for high vis apparel is different in each state and site classification. Hard harts should be standard but they use them here and there I noticed.
