This was a really good episode. Y'all put a lot of content in this one. Two thoughts. First of all, I love watching the interaction between Kevin and Tommy. It really reminds me of working with my dad over the years. Just enough snark back and forth to make the day interesting. I'm glad Kevin seems to know how fortunate he is to be a part of that. Second. That countertop vein matching was insanely good. That takes a lot of skill. And a bonus note, I'm going to file that outlet strip idea away for future reference. No plugs in the backsplash
@Navy1977 I installed a new, perfectly squared pre-hung front door and storm door in my 70 year old house. The original opening was fairly square from top to bottom and from left to right, but the top of the wall leaned inward a bit which I had to compensate for. And the wall itself was slightly thicker at the bottom than at the top due to variations in the interior plaster coat, so had to 'manage' that as well. Looks fine, works fine but kind of puzzle.
I worked for a home builder in Alberta and they only put 1 coat of paint on closets and only painted 2 inches on the back of bi fold doors to save $$. Their doors were the worst
The security camera near the stair case seems fairly large for what is available on the market. I am curious as to the reasons for the choice of style.

Way too much bs for that door hang. Slap the casing on one side nail the door n the casing keep ur reveal around the door n ur done. Shim here string there what a nightmare. 50 years doing his job u would think he’d know shortcuts
My grandma and I used to watch this together back in 2005, great memories, thanks.
@Rugged-Mongol Are you desperate for some attention?
Watching Tommy "Pops" and Kevin "Sonny" working together is always fun to watch.
But missing Norm a bunch!
I was a weird kid growing up in the 90s, was all about The New Yankee Workshop on Saturday mornings. @bheppes

Forever Tom called you sonny boy, so now you get to call him pops. hilarious.
Pops and sonny!
Hanging the closet doers is a great example of the art of putting a perfect square into a wonky old opening. Ask me how I know…

Pops and sonny did a great job on the door..
Those Marble guys made me SMILE
Love watching Tommy hanging doors

won't the floor refinishing take longer than a week? Ours was three weeks...
It that electrical the correct thing to use? I don't think those are designed for high draw appliance.

It appears to be temporary, just for the construction.
It could also be one of the unmanned cameras the crew use to film some of their casual shots.
It is mostly for security while the house is open for reconstruction but also for background shots of the crews in action...
maybe as a deterrent, easy for thugs to see
i totally suck at doors. My shed door looks like a hack job. I tried to do it myself and make my own door, horrible decision.
Doors are upside down
Season 26 starts October 2024 👍
8:33 - the left door is actually moving. Good job to hide it from the camera :)
That countertop guy sounds like joe rogan
WATCHED THIS OLD HOUSE BACK N '85 WITH NORM ABRAMS AND NO TAIL
NO TALENT BOB VILA 🤨👎 LOVED NORM! BUT BOB SUCK!
Leave it to TOH to complicate a simple install.
And no mention of the elevations of other doors in the same area.
"I've got a door to hang first". Translation: I have to watch Tom hang a door
bravo
I love the how to hang a door stuff - A job I hate doing but always looks so easy when Tommy does it...
Who in the hell comments on their own comment? Talk to yourself much? Get some help.

Im a GC, trust me , 90% of the US builders do not follow even 30% of those instructions anymore, they install the door in 5 mins and thats all

But the wall was not plumb to begin with.
2nd!
Them girls wearing masks installing the counter tops. 😅
Perhaps they have someone at home with symptoms or flu or Covid. Heaven forbid anyone show consideration for their coworkers.
