It is funny that the actor who had been protested the most because of his lack of resemblence to the classic Bond, portrayed the closest Bond that is created by Fleming.
I dissagree. The line “The bitch is dead” is Bond trying to hide the fact that he felt something for someone. That makes the ending all the more tragic
My father LOVES James Bond. He watched them all many many times. When my siblings and I were babies, he used to play them over the VCR cassettes as he gave us bottles at night. He was dubious when Daniel Craig was cast. The first weekend Casino Royale came out, he didn't want to go see it. On Monday, at school, one of my friends went to see and praised the movie. Thanks to her, I convinced my father to go see it. We both LOVED it, and we went to see every other Craig's Bond movie ever since. Cannot wait for No Time to Die!

That parkour guy at the beginning is The single person who coined the phrase “freerunning”. And one of the original founders of parkour Sebastian Foucan.
Unironically the best Bond film alongside Goldeneye, which were directed by the same dude. Fuck knows what they were thinking with everything after this masterpiece.
That was probably my favorite review I have ever seen of yours.Your enthusiasm and excitement was not only genuine but it reminded me of how much i liked this movie when I first seen it.My best friend just died I broke up with my fiance and was going through some dark times and this Bond Film was so good it made me forget all those problems for those 2hrs.OH AND EVA GREEN IS THE BEST BOND GIRL
Like a lot of blondes, his hair got darker as he got older. Same thing happened to me, my hair was pure yellow as a kid, now it only shows a hint of blonde.
Here's my perspective on the Bond movies Sean Connery- A very very nice run, and apart from the plot to Diamonds Are Forever they never got too silly despite him having basically all the big spectacle Bond movies, and his portrayal of Bond was basically a more well done version of Roger Moore's portrayal, Sean Connery was a great Bond. George Lazenby- I'm just gonna say it, I hated OHMSS and I hated Lazenby's portrayal of Bond, he tried to have the wit and charm that Connery had but he was just so stiff and lifeless that those attempts at humor just fell flat and overall it was just a chore to sit through Roger Moore- A very terrible run if you ask me, apart from For Your Eyes Only and The Spy Who Loved Me, I thought this era was really bad, we were forced to stomach 5 movies that felt more like Austin Powers movies than Bond movies, for those last 5 movies I was just sitting there thinking "what the hell am I watching!?!" Not a good era at all Timothy Dalton- I'll be completely honest, I loved Dalton as Bond as well as both movies, they were darker and a lot more grounded, which is what Bond originally was like, and these 2 movies you could argue set the stage for what the Daniel Craig movies would be like, and I loved this era Pierce Brosnan- Now, I didn't flat out hate his last 3 Bond movies but they are pretty bad, Goldeneye was good but the last 3 movies were like someone took the later Connery Bonds and cranked the giant spectacle up to 11, and they were a pretty big slap in the face compared to what Goldeneye was Daniel Craig- In my opinion, Craig is the best Bond we've ever had, he's pretty much a combination of the badassery of Dalton and a much more subtle and relaxed version of Connery's ladies man portrayal, and all 3 movies were grounded and realistic, never stepping into the cheesy world destruction plots that the other Bonds have had, and I loved everything about this version of Bond
Agree with you wholeheartedly Ben, your analysis is 100% on point, in my humble opinion tough "A View To A Kill" is the epitome of not only the worst Bond movie ever made, but one of the worst films of all times ever made, so disappointing, and I've watched hundreds of bad cinema. Literally, it appears that Roger was there just to pick up his check.
@@elijahfordsidioticvarietys8770 Well, the comment was quite brazen in its defamation of Moore's portrayal. As a Moore fan myself, the silliness and lackadaisical attitude of his Bond is what sets it apart for me, in a good way. Call me crazy, but I like to laugh, and Octopussy, Live and Let Die, and Moonraker had me doing so for their entire durations.
agree with you completely. roger moore era was painful. all three films are grounded in the craig era...........but christ, you wrote this before spectre, a film that seemed to think going back to moore cheesiness, ridiculousness, and unbelievability was a good thing. that fucking plane scene!
Lazenby gets way too much crap. He was a first timer hence his wooden acting but the role of 007 fit him like a glove. He had charm in spades, convincingly cool under pressure, and the man knew how to kick ass; He moved like a panther. On Her Majesty's Secret Service ? A terrific melodrama on an epic scale; beautifully photographed, a Bond girl that was perfectly developed, and Bond and the MI6 regulars feeling like a tight knit group that genuinely felt for one another. Blofeld and his motives were rather undercooked and the escape from Piz Gloria felt like one, long interminable action sequence but easily one of the best Bond films. With the exception of The Spy Who Loved Me, NO subsequent Bond film has come close to matching it's brilliance. As for the subsequent Bond actors, Moore was a lot of fun who could convincingly charm a woman but Bond has to be a lover AND a fighter. Timothy Dalton brought the much needed danger back to the character and in his first film, he was Fleming's invention though he could be a tad too sour. Brosnan succeeded in doing a good Connery imitation but he never really brought anything else to the role. Daniel Craig was definitely an improvement but he seems to be channeling Jason Bourne instead of James Bond.
Its really a rare case of a Great movie, that also happens to be an action movie. It deserves to be called one of the best action movies of all time, alongside with such masterpieces like Die Hard, Hard Boiled, Supercop, Terminator 2 and Aliens. Its fucking badass. Great review, Chris!
+Арсений Брилёв The action set pieces in 1 were alot better than 3's. Especially when you consider how many stuntmen nearly lost their lives doing the stunts in that movie. That adds alot more credibility and authenticity to the danger involved in the action.
Maybe, though I think the helecopter scene in Supercop looks more impressive. And aside from action alone, the story, humor and characters are much better in 3. Seriously, try remembering the first movie. There is a great action scene in the beggining, and in the end. The rest of the time nothing really happens in this movie.
+Арсений Брилёв I don't need to remember. I own it and have found myself coming back to it more than Supercop. Hell A New Police Story was on par with Police Story 1 & 2, imo.
I stopped watching the review halfway. I'm going to see the movie then come back. Aaaand I loved it. The only other Bond movie I've seen all the way through is Skyfall and I loved that movie. I might like this one better but I'm going to watch Skyfall again to make sure.
+Luis Gonzalez This one is definitely the best one. Skyfall was really good, but it didn't nearly grab me like Casino Royale did. I was completely engaged throughout the entire film
1:26, I don't agree with this comment necessarily. I think the first time we see a more hard edged Bond was actually in For Your Eyes Only with Roger Moore. The scene with the car at the cliff really shows of who Bond really is, For Your Eyes Only is actually one of my favorites. It has a nice balance of camp and grit.
This film is damn near perfect. Just rewatched it and I can't believe how I'd totally forgotten all about that riveting action sequence at the airport.
I was rewatching this as part of my quarantine Bond marathon. This is, in my opinion, hands down *the* best Bond movie. The acting, the film making, the whole casino atmosphere is just so perfectly James Bond. I love it.
SLCooper14 You are in a small group. Skyfall is a badass movie and is by far one of the many great Bond films that came from Daniel Craig outside of Quantom of Solace that was awful
Casino Royale: 9/10 Quantum Of Solace: 4/10 Skyfall: 8/10 Spectre: 6/10 On Spectre, it was good all the way until Bond and Swann walk casually into the Spectre compound. The moment they got off the train, the writing dropped to zero. It was like they spent all their money on the first half of the script, then realised afterwards that they only had enough cash for the shittiest, most cliche third act ever. It was also a pretty bad ending.
I've watched this movie more than I've watched any of the others. This is hands down THE best Bond movie ever made. People harp on about Dr. No and Thunderball being the greatest. Heck, many love The Spy Who Loved Me, and those ARE great movies. But for sheer re-watch ability and with some of the best fight scenes ever, I give it to Casino Royale every time. I make sure to watch it every six months or so. Daniel Craig will never repeat this movies success.
This film is within my 10 best list films of all time, and I've been watching cinema for 59 years, Casino Royale is spectacular in every way, and Mr Craig is the very best Bond ever.
This is one of my top 5 favorite movies of all time. I mean EVER. Never mind that it belongs to a beloved, iconic 50+year series that portrays one of the most perfect protagonists ever thought up by a writer, this is a stand alone GREAT movie. I love seeing Casino Royale proving its brilliance through the test of time and becoming more and more appreciated with time (especially as the love of Skyfall fades (as it should) and Casino Royale stays its course... as it should. I love coming back and seeing newer comments years later of people speaking more and more of exactly the same things I saw this movie had with every bit of brilliance in its every scene. It's nearly as perfect as a movie can be in SO many ways: It has some of the best action you will ever see (that is NOT CG that is lazily thrown at the dumbed-down masses who ooh and ahh at that garbage). This is as much a REAL movie as they get. It has superb character development, alternating segments of suspense, emotion, feel good moments, and edge of your seat moments, with realism of villains and dialogue.. DANG it's got such great dialogue and banter. It also has a more complex act structure that so many movies fail to deliver today. 4 and 5 acts instead of the usual 3-part act, with each one offering material that would be used as the main plot to lessor movies. And it's a beautiful film: characters, sets, women, wardrobes, with charisma abound among Bond, the leading women, the secondary characters, and loaded with some of the most beautiful, exotic locales (sunny, tropical, bright and pleasurable places, not dark, dungeony, dull and depressing like in the Sam Mendes-directed movies of Skyfall, Spectre). Casino Royale has a director in Martin Campbell (also Directed GoldenEye) who knows HOW to portray Bond as he should be, that other directors can't compare (i.e. again, Sam Mendes --who knows nothing about injecting the much needed masculine qualities to a leading character such as James Bond that every scene demands). You really admire Bond in Casino Royale. Much less in the later Bond movies. And did I already mention REAL stunts that Casino Royale has?... really great, even Guiness book record-breaking real stunts. From the opening scene to the final punch and black out of the last scene to start the rolling of the ending credits, Casino Royale takes you for a MOST-ENTERTAINING ride; and a ride with a story! --- you remember that thing called a story that movies are supposed to have, and an even GREATER movie has when it is a COMPLEX story? Yeah, it's got that ...and everything else. Watch it. This movie will be loved forever !
So I just watched this movie again last night, and then came back to your review, for the 3rd time or so. I am struck every time I see Casino Royale with how amazing it is!! I love that you love it, Chris, because I fangirl so hard on this movie. (Not just for Daniel Craig, although I have been known to fawn over him a time or two.) It just feels so well made to me. The character of James Bond is at his most cocky after just being promoted and he is ready to go and do whatever gets thrown his way. He thinks he can handle anything and you get the feeling he can. He is so competent, he is almost the assassins. It makes it all the more heartbreaking and exciting when he falls into place as 007 after the betrayal of Vesper. I always hope for a different outcome, that they could sail away together and have a happy life. So sad. He will always carry that heartbreak around. Bravo to this movie! (Side note: I guess that's why I hate at the end of Spectre when he is ready to quit for this chick he knew 2 days! After Vesper, who the hell is this girl?)
Excellent review! This and Skyfall are my favorite Craig Bond films. I will mention that Eva Green's character after her death is revealed by M to have taken part in the double cross because it was the only thing that kept Bond from being murdered earlier during their kidnapping. It's what fueled his thirst for vengeance in the following film.
Fun Fact: the Asian woman seated to the left of Felix Leiter at 6:30 is Tsai Chin, who appeared in the pre-credits sequence of 1967's YOU ONLY LIVE TWICE. The 39 years between her two appearances in James Bond films is even longer than the first appearance of Desmond Llewellyn's Q in 1963's FROM RUSSIA WITH LOVE and his last in 1999's THE WORLD IS NOT ENOUGH.
0:30 .... very 0:41: The exact same thing happened with Heath Ledge as the Joker. And it got even worse when that first image of him as Joker(creepy image of Joker shrouded in shadow) popped up online. He looked “too edgy”, make up looked like it was just “smeared on in a rush” or “lazy”, “wtf...why does he have a mullet”, “this isn’t Joker” etc. Movie comes out......all the naysayers are quiet as church mice. I swear I feel like I’m the only one who remembers that brief period where Heath Ledger wasn’t viewed as a method acting genius, and was hated on after being casted as Joker.
Also, I do remember in the theater, watching that opening action sequence, and how surprised I was my body was moving in my seat. Blew my mind. What a scene!
Great review Chris. The shower scene made me want to stand up and scream, "Yes!!" Vesper was horrified by what occurred and her reaction was totally understandable. Bond's tenderness was beautiful to watch. Great movie. Brilliant James Bond movie.
Cornell's You Know My Name was pefect as far as being a male alternative to the sultry female chanteuses numbers for Bond films of the past. It was fast, sounds retro and is powerful. Plus Cornell's vocals, his voice was so unique man. Plus, the accompanying music video which has the almost spy looking Cornell in an intense life threatening situation. Complete with femme fatale. The guy looked like an aging male model towards the end of his life let's face it so it was all perfect! Maybe the closest music video to go along with a Bond film since Duran Duran did A View To Kill. Although much less campy! One of the best Bond themes ever! God I miss that guy...RIP Chris! The best female sung theme in the last fifteen years was The World Is Not Enough by Garbage. Shirley Manson's vocals were reminiscent of Shirley Bassey's Goldfinger in their passion and effectiveness. Another great video featuring a spy/femme fatale like Shirley Manson with a great twist at the end.
Man, I love this movie. And Craig is no doubt the best Bond we've ever had. He given us the best performance as Bond, better than any other actor in my opinion. His character arc is great and I can't wait to see him in Spectre.
Casino Royale was probably the closest to Ian flemings work than any of the previous films. The character of Bond portrayed by Daniel Craig was probably exactly how Ian Fleming imagined it when he first wrote it
You have to remember with Casino Royale is that was the 1st James bond novel and they made this movie also as it being the 1st bond, so all the other Bond movies and who he is, is after this movie, he has just become a 00 and all of this is new too bond .
I think of quantum of solace was directed by Martin Campbell then it wouldn't have been such a mess. Casino royale is my second favorite bond film next to skyfall. That's the perfect James Bond movie. Lots of excitement and action, but a lot of heart and great acting.
This movie make me fall in love for Bond movie, I watched it back in 2006, there is a period of time I fantasize myself being his protoge, then Bond is dead I take his place as new 007, just like Eggsy and Harry in Kingsman before it even exits.
I like the way Martin Campbell did Le Chiffre's character. He exited the movie early, and there wasn't a stupid final fight on top of a building or something like that between Bond or Le Chiffre. The time that is spent towards this villain is good. We see that he is desperate to win and you could taste the regret in his eyes.
I never noticed this but on the IMDb trivia for spectre, Christopher Nolan was interested in directing the new movie before Sam Mendes returned. I can just imagine what it would have being like
@@biggawinnacrapsa3870 Please proofread your comments before posting, so that you don't come off sounding like an ignorant moron. Thank you, that is all.
The best bond movie ever. Chris is right Martin Campbell is the best director for bond films. He actually gets the essence of the character the best. You know my name is the best song ever. I love Adele’s skyfall and writing on the wall for spectre is very well done too. I even like Billy Eilish’s new song for no time to die. Craig has had some of the best bond songs.
an amazing theme song, so underrated, i loved it from the get go. And I was one of the naysayers about Daniel Craig but totally converted by Casino Royale. So much grit and reality, great movie.
Chris, you made me remember why I love this movie so much. This review transmits the energy, the enjoyment, the freshness, the, dare I say it? The macho, yet sophisticated, new and improved James Bond. This is, BY FAR, my faveourite JB movie. Thank you for reminding me.
@@ianchandler4649 cause the script was written before batman , and they couldn’t take a script inspired by another film , cast it AND SHOOT IT in a year
Ian Chandler How could Casino Royale possible be inspired by Batman Begins when Casino Royale’s script was in the process of being written in 2004? It wasn’t influenced by Begins.
I recently started watching all Bond films in the order they were released, and I never noticed just how different Casino Royale was. It's definitely the best Bond movie up to that point!
Cross dissolve to show time passing! Does it only work like that for a single set/location? (like the poker table)? Professor Stuckmann, I learn something every time you review a movie! And you do look spiffy! :0) Thank you!
+Jack Passmore One of the best ones ever is near the beginning of "Hunt for Red October" - which stars Sean Connery (coincidentally) as a Russian submarine Captain. He's chatting in Russian to his crew - there's a cross-fade, and he's now talking in English - but it's seamless. Then there's the interview scene from Blade Runner - where Harrison Ford is asking "Rachel" over 100 questions. The use of the cross-dissolve in this scene is masterful, condensing what must have taken an hour or more into just 2 minutes.
I love that scene in blade runner, those are very useful examples. Now i have to go back and watch both of those with my new, still very green, story-want-to-be-telling Stuckman Eyes! Doesn't Chris just bring everything any movie maker could ever ask for in an audience? I love hims... Thanks again you're extremely helpful and point out classy examples (examples I never noticed before) :0)
7:25 is why Daniel Craig is my favourite Bond ever. Because unlike the previous (still great) Bond actors, Craig actually made him an actual human being in that one scene. Something all the other Bonds failed to do, attempted or not.

Love when actors like Daniel Craig and Ben Affleck destroy the haters by giving the best performances of these iconic characters after they've been hated on.
Casino Royale introduced a new type of Bond. He is rough , cold-hearted does real action and stunts. Unlike other Bonds he is more human than superhuman.

Sean Connery- A very very nice run, and apart from the plot to Diamonds Are Forever they never got too silly despite him having basically all the big spectacle Bond movies, and his portrayal of Bond was basically a more well done version of Roger Moore's portrayal, Sean Connery was a great Bond.

Not a good era at all
Timothy Dalton- I'll be completely honest, I loved Dalton as Bond as well as both movies, they were darker and a lot more grounded, which is what Bond originally was like, and these 2 movies you could argue set the stage for what the Daniel Craig movies would be like, and I loved this era
Pierce Brosnan- Now, I didn't flat out hate his last 3 Bond movies but they are pretty bad, Goldeneye was good but the last 3 movies were like someone took the later Connery Bonds and cranked the giant spectacle up to 11, and they were a pretty big slap in the face compared to what Goldeneye was
Daniel Craig- In my opinion, Craig is the best Bond we've ever had, he's pretty much a combination of the badassery of Dalton and a much more subtle and relaxed version of Connery's ladies man portrayal, and all 3 movies were grounded and realistic, never stepping into the cheesy world destruction plots that the other Bonds have had, and I loved everything about this version of Bond

I hope you mean Police Story. Supercop, while a sequel of Police Story, was average in comparison to either PS 1 or 2.
+moviemetalhead It is definately better than Police Story 1. Especially considering it doesn't have this fucking annoying girlfriend
Same
If those are the only two uve seen watch another bond. Like the original. Don't rewatch sky fall.
+Luis Gonzalez This one is definitely the best one. Skyfall was really good, but it didn't nearly grab me like Casino Royale did. I was completely engaged throughout the entire film
+The Third Child Well put, man! Skyfall was a great movie, but CR is a classic (despite being 9 yrs old)
LovelyProductions
Crazy to think it's this old already
1:26, I don't agree with this comment necessarily. I think the first time we see a more hard edged Bond was actually in For Your Eyes Only with Roger Moore. The scene with the car at the cliff really shows of who Bond really is, For Your Eyes Only is actually one of my favorites. It has a nice balance of camp and grit.
Review Layer Cake please

I remember my dad telling me about how much he liked Daniel Craig as Bond. "Son," he said, "This Bond is a shark."
So true.
"he's desperate. He's at the end of his rope."
Actually I believe it was James who was at the end of Le Chiffre's rope.
More specifically, his balls
campbellsoup93 Haha. Your comment made me LOL.
@@webheadgabe1177 Literally every time I get reminded of that scene, I cross my legs. Fuck! I can't imagine how much those whips must have hurt.

I love it.
anyone who thought Craig couldn't play bond never saw layer cake
the name is bond, james rodriguez
the worst news article headline am I right?😉😉
+drei. Wait a media outlet said that?
Idk but I saw it on instagram
drei. I like James Rodriguez but it's not his faulty that some people aren't creative or smart enough to create puns with his name.
Sebastian muñoz ochoa couldn't agree more
I genuinely think this is my favorite film from the 2000s. I'm astonished by how good it is every time I decide to rewatch it.
It's good a film but I think it's overrated to me personally. I prefer skyfall over casino royale.
Casino Royale: 10/10
Quantum of Solace: 4/10
Skyfall: 10/10
Spectre: 5/10
Great ratings however I would rate Spectre higher though
Oh please.
Misbehaven123 Spectre isn't that bad of a movie. Nothing about it says bad
Skyfall 10 ? Am I the only one that thinks it was an average movie ?
SLCooper14 You are in a small group. Skyfall is a badass movie and is by far one of the many great Bond films that came from Daniel Craig outside of Quantom of Solace that was awful
Casino Royale: 9/10
Quantum Of Solace: 4/10
Skyfall: 8/10
Spectre: 6/10
On Spectre, it was good all the way until Bond and Swann walk casually into the Spectre compound.
(Not just for Daniel Craig, although I have been known to fawn over him a time or two.)
It just feels so well made to me.
"He has now become... Batman!"
0:30 .... very
0:41: The exact same thing happened with Heath Ledge as the Joker.
Daniel Craig made the naysayers eat their own words
He was born to play 007
@recline69 bruh you a real hater 😂. Commenting all over the comment section

Reboot
I think of quantum of solace was directed by Martin Campbell then it wouldn't have been such a mess. Casino royale is my second favorite bond film next to skyfall. That's the perfect James Bond movie. Lots of excitement and action, but a lot of heart and great acting.
+Ivan TL Hammer - Martin Campbell worked wonders for GoldenEye and Casino Royale.
Casino Royale is probably my all time favourite James Bond film, I loved the free running scenes, it's purely awesome to watch all the way through :D
This movie make me fall in love for Bond movie, I watched it back in 2006, there is a period of time I fantasize myself being his protoge, then Bond is dead I take his place as new 007, just like Eggsy and Harry in Kingsman before it even exits.
One of my all time favorite films..... GREAT MOVIE, it was perfect. D.C. was born to play 007/James Bond.
That opening scene is one of my favorites. Also, this movie has one of my favorite stunts ever.
I never noticed this but on the IMDb trivia for spectre, Christopher Nolan was interested in directing the new movie before Sam Mendes returned. I can just imagine what it would have being like
I just hope it happens some day.

LOL I lost it at that comment 😂
I agree 100%. This is actually my favorite bond film
I was so proud to see two danish actors in that movie! Both Mads Mikkelsen and Jesper Christensen did an amazing job! :)
My favourite Bond film. RIP Chris Cornell.
I like how Chris made a disclaimer about how he loves his wife before he compliments Daniel Craig's looks.... LOL!!
GODAMN!!! This movie is such a classic and has aged amazingly!!!
This film was really amazing
an amazing theme song, so underrated, i loved it from the get go. And I was one of the naysayers about Daniel Craig but totally converted by Casino Royale. So much grit and reality, great movie.
@Black Ninja she is talking about the song not the movie
Probably one of the best reviews I have seen on this Movie . .
Well done CHRIS . . .
Outstanding
Dude Chris your reviews are so great I like the funny little moments you add keep it up!
This is my favorite Bond movie. I’ve watched it so many times and never get tired of it!
Chris, you made me remember why I love this movie so much. This review transmits the energy, the enjoyment, the freshness, the, dare I say it? The macho, yet sophisticated, new and improved James Bond. This is, BY FAR, my faveourite JB movie. Thank you for reminding me.
One of the best, and most consistent, films from beginning to end
It's actually a rope with a big knot on the end of it Le Chiffre uses to torture Bond, not a whip.

Vesper Martini No, it's an actual morning robe - yeah ofc I meant rope ^^

Rest in Peace Chris Cornell the theme you made for this film is by far the most underrated
It's Everything a James Bond movie is supposed to and can have.
I remember when Craig was cast. James Blond! Then came Casino Royale and gave us the best Bond movie and the best Bond.
this is the Batman Begins of James Bond
That line had me dying lol "He has now become...BATMAN" 😂
You know that modern Bond’s darker tone inspired Batman Begins... I was stupid to think vice versa.
@@ianchandler4649 the exact opposite
@@ianchandler4649 cause the script was written before batman , and they couldn’t take a script inspired by another film , cast it AND SHOOT IT in a year
Ian Chandler How could Casino Royale possible be inspired by Batman Begins when Casino Royale’s script was in the process of being written in 2004? It wasn’t influenced by Begins.
I love "You Know my Name," too. It's on my IPOD. RIP Chris Cornell.
Thank you!
+Jack Passmore It can work in many ways, to transition from 1 location to the next for example.
Good point, it's old school but I like how it conveys the passage of time. Thanks Pot Head! :0)

One of the best ones ever is near the beginning of "Hunt for Red October" - which stars Sean Connery (coincidentally) as a Russian submarine Captain.
I spat out my tea when you said "Batman".

Campbell seems to be the most consistent Bond director, looking back at CR, they should’ve brought him back for NTtD, to bring things full circle.
This was the first James Bond movie to be a reboot.
Thanks, Captain
Casino Royale introduced a new type of Bond. He is rough , cold-hearted does real action and stunts. Unlike other Bonds he is more human than superhuman.
Lazenby was the first to fit your description of a "more human" Bond. Dalton did it too
