Just wanna tell you my little story. I remember this movie should've been released last year, and i promised to my dad to take him to watch No Time To Die. Sadly, i lost my father last year 29 September 2020. 366 days later after he's passed this movie released. 1 day after the day my father passed away. And oh boy, i never expected to cry while watching 007. The whole perfect goodbye plot in this movie makes me cry alot. I remembered my dad, he loves watching espionage movie especially 007 and M:I. The last 15 minutes of the movies, all i could think is, "i wish father could see this ending and i wanna know what his reaction". Literally tearjerker. Thanks Dad, thanks 007.
I actually cried while reading this comment. My dad raised me and my brother on Bond movies, it's our favorite thing to watch together, and so I consider myself very blessed that I was able to go see this movie with them. Here's to you and your father, and my absolute best wishes for you! Thank you.
I‘m so sorry for your loss. The ending of the movie must mean so much to you because it was really sad and meaningful and your dad never got to see it❤️
I'm so sorry for your loss, my condolences. I hope this finale somehow brought some bitter sweet memories that you shared with your dad, may he rest in peace

@@davidk9382 yeah exactly. For such a long ass movie they somehow managed to skip a lot of important character development, explanations and gloss over some important plot points. Why did that henchman switch sides? What’s going on with that CIA agent? Overall I enjoyed the movie but c’mon it was a mess and all over the place lol
Well when you have a director like Cary Fukunaga, he knows how to direct action sequences very properly. Go watch True Detective season 1 in which he directed all the episodes of it, you can see how well directed the episodes are and compare it with No Time To Die. This movie is so Cary Fukunaga. Imagine if Oliver Megaton directed this movie, the action sequences would've been so messy as hell
@@Fl0k5ser Cary Joji Fukanaga is a legend in the making. His single take in True Detective season 1 was absolutely brilliant. Beyond the question of comment originality, Le Chiffre might be one of the best Bond villains because he's one of the few who doesn't see himself at the top of the food chain; he's as motivated by fear as anyone else because there ARE scary people coming to kill him.
I still think Blofeld should've been Bond's final villain. How poetic they could've made the ending, with the two brothers ending each other in a final battle. Safin just feels too...inconsequential. To random.
@@gatewayrealtor664 Haven't you seen spectre? Bond was adopted by Blofeld's dad after his own parent's had died. After an accident with his father, Blofeld changed his name, so that Bond never knew that he was his former brother.
Im a huge Rami Malek fan, but completely agree with this. I dont think the character was that great. Felt Blofeld had more presence in his 10 mins or so, than Malek's character did the whole film. Enjoyed the film though.
I strongly disagree. Having Blofeld as the ultimate villain would have felt repetitive. I enjoyed how No Time To Die made Blofeld important to the plot, tied up loose ends, but decided to take a different route. I felt that in Spectre, the Madeleine/Bond dynamic was a very intriguing idea that was as a concept a lot more promising than Blofeld was. I think the dynamic of having both Bond/Blofeld face the same enemy - as well as the parallels drawn between Vesper and Madeleine's character - made No Time To Die a very engaging experience that ended Craig's run in a perfect way. From a narrative standpoint, this Bond felt like a good reflection of Craig's Bond era.

I loved Ana De Armas’s performance! Going into it I expected the typical mysterious new Bond girl, lots of sexual tension, etc. Then she says she’s 3 weeks into training. I thought wait, they’re going with a klutz angle? Nope!! She’s just an enthusiastic badass who loves her job! Bond telling her “you were excellent” with such earnest really just capped it off. Great character!
@@tgr.4550 I had low expectations for her character, but for her performance I should always give her the proper expectations now. All three movies I’ve seen her in she was a stand out!
Basically, this movie was flawed in the plot (and villain) department - some character decisions don’t make much sense, the villain’s final plan is never made clear, his motivation is never addressed, the way Blofeld communicated with the outside world doesn’t make sense - but it’s a very well made film, and you can tell that there is a great deal of respect for the existing characters (and the new ones are, for the most part, well made). Basically, don’t focus on the plot too much, and instead enjoy a beautiful movie which works as a proper and emotional sendoff to one of the best Bonds we ever got.
Nah man there was nothing emotional about it. Me too movement castrated bond, any scene with a woman and they just disarm him. I don't really care for me too bs seeing as bond has always been a lady killer its one of the reason we watch bond film, women, cars, gadgets and great action sequences. This film was made to kill off an era of cinema and they done that.

@@stolenname94 the f*ck are you on about? “Any scene with a woman and they disarm him” Sure, cause he totally didn’t sleep with Madeleine or anything… Look, James Bond is famous for his flirting, and the films infamous for how poorly they treat women sometimes (often either by actual making them look bad or by making them nothing more than a sex object for Bond to be discarded - one way or another - after he’d had his way with her). Having there be women who DON’T want to jump on his c*ck the first chance they get is nice for a change. If you are still upset at the breaking with a tradition of treating women in a franchise as little more than sex objects 90% of the time, I have to question both your common sense and your taste in storytelling… The fact that you deride this movie as a “me-too castrating Bond” flick shows that you have no clue what you’re talking about.

As a side curious note, there was a relatively low budget tv series in Spain produced by a TV channel (Antena 3) 15 years ago or so called "El Internado". That TV series despite having all spanish or spanish-speaking actors and quite unknown most of them, fed with two actors for the James Bond saga: one was the Tournament Director on Casino Royale played by Carlos Leal and the other one is the most famous and prolific actress that came from those humble beginnings: Ana de Armas, who was one of the five protagonists of the show. Although she is Cuban, she lived in Spain many years and that was her first important role. Who would have thought back then that she would become a Hollywood actress and would be one of Bond's girls. And yes, I would love to see more of her as Paloma.
She might return who knows I want to see how James bond goes from here cos his death scene was it less they decide to take bond to how he joins mi6 set before casino royale we'll have to see
One of the cool "little moments" that I really liked was the end of the action sequence with Ana de Armas. Bond turns to her and just says "you're excellent, I look forward to working with you again" then shakes her hand and they part ways. It just made me enjoy it as a moment between two colleagues who enjoyed working with each other. Rather than the usual thing of Bond throwing them into bed and leaving them the next morning. 😂
@@mern2974 yeah but I like how she actually politely turned him down, because it gets old at some point when stuff goes down within 2 minutes of him meeting a woman

Eh I disagree, he felt to me more threatening than Blofeld in spectre who doesn’t seem to have any real evil plan at all, and the guy in quantum is stealing water, he’s scarier than they are.
Ana de Armas is amazing, i was so happy she was actually a believable badass given the story. (And for once a likeable Bond girl does not die immediately after being introduced), that said, i did not love what they decided to do to Bond at the end. Otherwise i thoroughly enjoyed it. Happy Daniel Craig had one last hooray after all
I really liked her character but she was opposite of believable - she’s supposed to be a newbie but she’s some kind of genius combatant and, more importantly, she’s a happy-go-lucky spy in a gritty spy world. It almost ruined my immersion, but her character was still so fun that I enjoyed it
@@gaiusx287 agree 100%. But it was really refreshing to not see the newbie spy girl instantly killed off after sleeping with Bond. Yuck. This is so melodrama, soap opera-like, manipulating us to shed tears. It's ok to do that in movies in general, but not in a James Bond film, it's not the 007 franchise I love and expected.
@@maxjackson.7533 if you think this a good movie you might be out of your mind. It clunky, felt like a bad soap opera at times and had many plot holes. Plus it had a robot eye on cushion. I've seen cartoons with better plots.
The best scene was where Bond has to make it up several flights of stairs, being shot at from above and with baddies coming out of doors on the way, and the whole thing was done in one friggin' take! It starts just after he throws a grenade up in the air and is about 2 1/4 hours into the movie.
Yeah, but it was silly when dudes are shooting you from above and you don't get hit once. Trained killers and you are in blatant range of their bullets?!
This movie was the last performance for Daniel Craig as the legendary 007 agent and it was an excellent performance. As for Rami Malek, even if Mads Mikkelsen (Le Chiffre) and Javier Bardem (Silva) delivered a stellar performance in Casino Royale and Skyfall, Rami Malek did a good performance. For me, this movie was a great finale for the Daniel Craig era but not the best James bond movie. Nonetheless, it was a great movie. Thank you Daniel Craig for those 15 years of performance.
I wish they could've used more of Christoph Waltz tho as the villain for NTTD, eventhough Rami Malek is a great actor, I found him quite miscast in the role. Waltz would've been better Bond villain for this movie than Malek tho. Or maybe, Waltz's character working together with Malek's character would've been great
I felt this could’ve been a top 5 bond film if it wasn’t for the final act. It felt rushed compared to the rest of the movie. Still, the rest of the movie is amazing, top tier bond content if not the best bond action we’ve seen in ages. Overall a 7.5-8/10.
@@nikisepehrinejad9080 I feel the same way. Motives made zero sense and the delivery of his lines sounded like something from a Shakespeare stage play.
Actually, Connery had three “final films”: He quit the series after YOU ONLY LIVE TWICE, which made casting George Lazenby necessary for ON HER MAJESTY’S SECRET SERVICE, then was wooed back with a then record salary for DIAMONDS ARE FOREVER after John Gavin had already been signed to play Bond in that film, and then made NEVER SAY NEVER AGAIN more than a decade after that. (And yes, I do count that as a Bond film although it was a non-EON remake of THUNDERBALL.)
1. Casino Royale - greatest Bond film of all time 2. Skyfall- very good. That final sequence on the estate was awesome. 3. No Time to Die- the dynamic with the people close to him added to the film 4. Spectre ehh it was ok. They didn't use Christof Waltz enough, he was great. 5. Quantum of Solace- terrible.
I think my Daniel Craig tier list would be the exact same, only with Casino Royale and Skyfall swapped. Skyfall is for me the greatest Bond film of all time, however, CR is also a good choice :) Maybe I'd also swap No Time to Die and Spectre - both are not as great as CR and Skyfall, both have their flaws, but I like them a lot, especially Spectre is criminally underrated from my point of view. I agree though on the point of not using Christoph Waltz enough.
The only thing this film seriously missed was an in memoriam to Sean Connery and Roger Moore who both passed since the previous movie. Diamonds Live Forever💎
To me he is the best Bond, along with Connery. Craig bought some much needed realism and grittiness to the franchise. Casino Royale remains the best though, I wish they kept that style and tone. It started to regress back into more gadgets-crazy-supervillain direction after that
@@shredd5705 it's not Craig that brought grittiness and realism into the role it is the decision of the writer(s) and director(s). Actors just act that's it.
Daniel Craig is the Christian Bale of the Bond Franchise. His Bond films are The Dark Knight Trilogy of the franchise. Craig made Bond, dark, gritty and a believable character again. He brought the franchise back to it's roots. Just like Christian Bale and Christopher Nolan did with the Batman character. Casino Royale is the Bond version of Batman Begins. It gave fresh new life to the Bond Franchise, and brought it back from the goofiness and the over the top galore of Die Another Day. Just like Batman Begins did it after the backlash with Batman & Robin. Craig made the Bond films, dark, believable and realistic again. Also you could say that No Time to Die is the Bond version of The Dark Knight Rises. As Bond sacrifices himself to save the world just like Batman did it in The Dark Knight Rises. Both the Bond and Batman films have had a similar evolution in tone and depiction. By initially starting off as dark and gritty, then becoming camp and over the top. Then becoming dark, grounded, realistic and serious in tone again.
I genuinely don't know how they can even top the Daniel Craig era. Genuinely. Gender swapping or race swapping would generate buzz but I really don't know how they can even really do anything better than this. At least with Batman there are so many wildly different interpretations you can go crazy with it.

One thing I really liked about Daniel Craig as Bond in this movie, which is something that I thought I was really going to hate since it almost went against Bond’s nature as a cold blooded killer, but I really enjoyed seeing him as husband and father. It was a breath of fresh air to see Bond try and have a bit of humanity. I know that kinda goes against his background as an assassin. But I think it’s cool to see him try to live a quieter life as a family man rather than just be a pawn who kills people under the command of his government.
@@williamwilkinson8735 The weird thing of James Bond is precisely the idea to not have any children at all, specially in the Connery/Moore era where he laid with so many women (and probably without using a condom) that the probability of him having a child somewhere in the world was more likely than not having it. The movie is brave enough to have him as a father but it is also very smart of not becoming Bond a loving father out of the blue. He thinks she isn't his daughter at first but defends the kid with his life as he would with any other child in danger. And then when he knows the truth he doesn't become a soft father, he just protects Madeleinne and Mathilde and thinks she is perfect. He doesn't talk to her in the end or give her any speech, he isn't a father figure, he may could have become one with time, but not on that moment. So his final words are for his love.
They set up the bad guy well in the first half of the movie by having him outmaneuver everyone, but there was almost no payoff for me in terms of his character. Very weak and uninteresting villain who was completely overshadowed by a stellar 5 minute performance from the previous movies villain.
I wish they could've use more of Christoph Waltz as the main Bond villain in this movie working together with Rami Malek's character, that would've been really damn cool
It is good. 8/10 solid movie and entertaining. Lots of tension and pacing. Casino Royale still my favorite but this is my 2nd favorite. Loved the female CIA agent. Great action scenes and acting. Feel like Safin had many chances to outsmart Bond. Same with Blotfeld. Both had so many chances for revenge. The only thing Bond has over them is he does not gloat. Also Bond never seems to get hit by a million bullets in this film. Le Chifre is the only villain who can kill Bond without becoming a drama queen about it.
I love that the Craig Bond movies all link. Even "Quantum of Solace", which is definitely a convoluted mess of a movie, features that amazing opera sequence that links in to Casino Royale. Brilliant! Looking forward to this one. Thanks, Chris, for talking the love of film (in theatres, specifically) amidst your filmmaking schedule!
Quantum of Solace brilliant?! It's quite simply the very worst of all Bond movies according to me, with Spectre a close second. The Craig tenure has not been a good one, except perhaps for the first half of Casino Royale. Even Skyfall sucks.
It directly follows up Casino Royale, actually. It picks up where the previous left off, and his entire journey is learning from the trauma of that experience of losing Vesper. I've seen an analysis that makes me appreciate that movie a lot more in spite of some of its flaws. It's still the worst Craig Bond film, but it absolutely has its merits.
@@Tyler_W Agreed, I chuckled at the concept that Daniel Craig sat down and attempted to write the script from the writers cliff notes before they went on strike LOL

FINALLY saw this tonight. When it hit theaters I was too busy. Caught a VERY subtle nod to Casino Royale. When Rami Malek first visits Madeline in her office, he points out a Foxglove in her office. Kind of pinkish, purplish flower, very common in Europe, and invasive in parts of the US. Foxglove is of the genus Digitalis, which is the poison that Le Chiffre tried to kill Bond with at Casino Royale. Neither film ties Digitalis and Foxglove together. Tough one to catch, but for Botany/Flower nerds. Really good film. Better than I expected. Lea Seydoux was excellent. I think Ralph Fiennes did his best 'M' work so far. Far closer in quality to Casino Royale and Skyfall, than to Spectre and Quantum. I loved it. First Bond to really go out with a BANG! I loved this movie so much. Haven’t actually gotten emotional over a bond film since OHMSS. Daniel Craig is the best bond hands down. I wish Quantum of Solace wasn’t plagued by the writers strike and wish spectre was better but Craig had 3.5/5 excellent bond films with Casino Royale being the best of all time and Skyfall being top 5 and now No Time to Die being in the top 10 easy. The ending actually got me so emotional because everything from the hate of Daniel Craig getting cast as a blonde bond to being blown away by Casino Royale (that is not just the best bond movie but one of the best movies ever) all came flooding back as we saw the end. Also Daniel Craig had the best bond songs as well. You know my Name, Skyfall, Writings on the Wall, No Time to Die are all amazing compliments to their films.
@Sunta Cloose because it's Craig's final performance as Bond and they wanna give him a proper send off. I mean why you think Marvel killed off RDJ as Tony Stark in Endgame aswell as Hugh Jackman as Wolverine in Logan???
I thought connery was my favourite Bond and always would be. Until Craig came along. I now believe he's the best of all time and has also become one of my all.time favourite actors with an incredible scope of work. Knives out was also simply brilliant. Loved it. Cant wait for no.2
Just watched this movie in theaters. It was amazing. I never felt emotional watching a Bond movie until today. And it was great to go back to the theater after 18 months
The only thing this film seriously missed was an in memoriam to Sean Connery and Roger Moore who both passed since the previous movie. Diamonds Live Forever
@@NetherlandsFirst First of all them DYING is merely a coincidence. Secondly, a film is supposed to tell its own story and lot to parade the past of the series, unless that past is relevant. On Her Majesty's Secret Service handled this well when the supposedly retiring Bond gies through his drawer, while Die Another Day has a reference to 19 Bond films that hardly make sense. In which way do you think Sean Connery and Roger Moore dying could have been included?
I think Ramy Malik was the biggest disappointment in the movie. His whole character motivation and intentions were total nonsense, which was a shame given that the character background was actually pretty interesting. But apart from that it was a really great movie. Tons of satisfying action, lots of smart humour, looked gorgeous, was much more ensemble cast feeling than a typical Bond movie which was nice to see and it never lagged or had pacing problems. I really enjoyed it.
He was way too young for the role. We're supposed to believe that he terrorized Léa Seydoux's character when she was a child. The two actors are clearly close in age. I looked up their true ages, and surprise, surprise: He's only four years older than her.
Spot on. I thought his character was possibly the biggest problem the movie had. From the previews, I was thinking that he would be some guy trying to replace bloefeld as top dog perhaps, but instead we get a ridiculous nut job (though as stated, the actor did a good job portraying the simultaneously subtle and over the top insanity his character had). I got his motivation for killing bloefeld and the rest of spectre, but the whole genocide thing made no sense. In a way, the bioweapon was a better villain taken as a whole as part of the movie.
Although I love Ana de Armas and she was good in the movie, I really wished Felix was in that mission with bond, it would have been really cool to see bond and felix on an actual mission together and it would make the following events more impact full. Movies need to be efficient, I think they just added Ana de Armas because she is really popular right now, it felt forced. On the other hand she looked stunning! Easily one of the best eye candy bond girls from the past years
Not to be overly blunt, but Ana de Armas is probably one of the most stunningly beautiful women I've ever seen, and she is a really good actor in whatever I've seen her in (which, to be fair, is only Knives Out and Blade Runner 2049, but still). I've heard nothing but really positive things about her brief performance in this movie.
Shes funny and has great chemistry w bond. The way bond pours out two drinks after a gunfight and they each take a nice gulp. She's very charming and extremely beautiful.
@@Tyler_W yeah she was great. I just think that in a movie you have litle time to develop characters, the best scripts are smart and efficient, adding a new character that doesn't add nothing to the story and "steals" time from other characters that do, kinda hurts the movie.
I also noticed the OHMSS references in the score and in the script. I loved the reappearance of the Aston Martin V8 from TLD, and other visual references throughout the film. Well done.
I wonder how is his movie (Chris Stuckmann's) coming along? Are they in filming? are they in post? Has he had issues working with actors? how about producers? the industry is famous for trying to destroy your soul every chance it gets, so, how is Chris doing enduring this experience? Since its a horror movie, is he following Mike Flannagan's steps in world creation and horror building? I'd very much like for him to make a pause and create a video telling us about his actual experience during this film creation
I enjoyed it. yes the tone was sometimes a bit mixed with serious scenes followed by the Borat accented scientist talking. But overall it kept me entertained never got boring and had some great action and acting.I was happy with the ending
I completely get what you meant when you said that due to the pandemic going back to the cinema has felt so much more special. The last film I watched before the pandemic was once upon a time in Hollywood. I just recently went to see last night in soho (which was excellent) and realised how much I missed it and how much I love it. It’s by far my favourite thing to do
Safin had the potential to a great villain but the filmmakers clearly didn't really care enough to flesh him out. The focus of the movie was pretty much entirely Bond and Madeline.
I loved everything about this film except for one thing... The plot. Rami's character (the villain) needed much more flushing out. His intentions or end game is never entirely clear. He was mad about Mr. White killing his family. And that is all we really know. And it is an absolute travesty how little screen time they gave Ana De Armas. The instant she appeared on screen, she just screamed Bond Girl and oddly enough, her beauty and action scene alone defined the film as a Bond film. There was so much more potential to this film. Honestly, I think it needed another hour or at least a more meaningful plot.
I disagree with what you said about Ana, I loved the small part she had and it made her scene standout more. I do agree with Safin needing more flushing out. But when had screen time he was excellent.
I've just seen the movie. Enormously disappointed. The beginning is absolutely fantastic and then the movie drags on and becomes a bit of a soap opera at times. 30 minutes could have easily dropped at the cutting room floor. Ana De Armas massively underutilized one of the best Bond girls a brunette Monroe that can kick ass! Plot hole; who was Madeleine's father? Whatever happened to him? The villain was a bit underwhelming compared to Blofeld but Malek could only do so much with the script. Hand to hand fights basically no nonexistent. And i loathe the end!!! 2 stars out of 5 perhaps 2,5 at best.
I felt the same way about Safin, but then I realized that for once, this Bond movie wasn’t about the villain. It’s about star-crossed lovers. It’s a finale of the cold kill-without-a-care agent to this person who feels and wants to redeem himself. So it sucks for a great actor in Malik to get stuck playing third wheel (there’s a joke there), but for once it’s about Bond and Madeline.
@@davidhero1000 bruhhh, goldeneye was great but casino royal is perfect, not overrated at all, it nailed bond especially as an origin story, and most importantly it nailed Daniels gritty bond. brosnans bond fit perfect with goldeneye. I watched all of these movies over the course of 1 week and when No Time to Die ended I actually cried a few tears myself. One of my all time favorite movie series.
Man, I know Chris doesn’t like shitting on movies, but tbh, that’s where the entertainment value lies for me personally, seeing him praise films is nice to see, you can see his passion and love for film making, but to have a good laugh while critiquing a movie, that’s where the negative reviews come in to play, they have a lot of funny moments and make for good entertainment, I miss them quite a bit. I understand his motive for ditching them, but my god I miss them.
I feel you, but then again reviewing movies isn't his nr. 1 priority anymore, and yes his Hilariocity reviews were always very entertaining, but when a movie truly is disappointing, a movie review can come with a lot of negative energy, especially because of the passion for film that he is. With reviewing movies not being his priority anymore I can imagine he doesn't want to feel that negative energy anymore also
Well he is now shitting on viewers who don't like things and use the word "fucking" a lot because he kind of wants to be taken seriously as a director and he took Kevin Smith as a role model for whatever reason?
The hole having an issue with Bond's/ Daniel Craig color of eyes is kind of cute. It is silly and that is why I feel a bit nostalgic for those times. Now everybody fights over should 007 be played by a woman, but once all we need for a controversy was to have blue eyes 😅.
It wasn't just for the blue eyes. Craig, and no offence to him, basically looks more of like a Russian, not really like a British, which is connected to the fact that he matched Fleming's description of Bond the least from all of the previous actors. And that is a valid point, it's obvious that Bond fans would bring this to the table and there is nothing wrong with it. Chris makes the mistake that he usually simplifies and then makes his opinion based on that simplified view, which a lot of people are doing this as well, but it's something people should try not to do, because that's how misunderstandings are created. That leads to heated conversations and even bigger misunderstandings.
Yeah people being annoyed that a spy could be female lol. Haven't they seen members of government and cops that are female? Judy Dench played one of bonds greatest roles.
I'm quite young so I can't ne certain about other people portraying James bond. But I'm happy to say that Daniel Craig was the James bond of my generation.
Craig isn't better than Connery, Brosnan or Dalton but he had the best films (Casino Royale and Skyfall) people tend to forget that he also had some stinkers (Quantum of Solace and Specter).
The tone of the movies completely changed with Craig. The old bonds are more or less campy/goofy, and always following the exact same cookie cutter formula. Casino Royale blew me away, I used to think Bond movies kinda suck until that. Seen almost all of them.
@kishenkoolskills90 Lmao, that's some hard nostalgia. No way someone watches all bond movie's now and says Sean Connery is the best. His movies were cheesy af.
6:50 there was one part for me where something did feel very forced to me. SPOILER WARNING When they go to the island they're specifically told by M to kill both Safin and Obruchev. When they find Obruchev they keep him alive for some reason, only for him to out of nowhere start making racist remarks against Leshana Lynch, giving her a reason to kill him (in a much more horrible way than just outright shoot him I might add). The racism came out of nowhere and felt like just a forced reason for the minority character to get some payback.
It seemed out of left field at the time, but after thinking about it, if a scientist is making a biological weapon to kill people based on DNA they are probably already racist. You’re right though, that part of his character wasn’t really brought out until that specific point.
When we were first introduced to Obruchev he was telling other people he was gonna kill them with Ebola, he decided to kill his female colleague because she messed up his lunch. He was a douche throughout the entire movie, it wouldn't surprise me if he was also racist.
People weren't really upset because she was a woman. It was more because of her previous work, that they thought was poor and her political beliefs. That's what I have gathered.
Chris Stuckmann seems to look down upon non-woke people nowadays. First Stuckmann review I watched in a couple of years. Don't think I have to watch anymore of them if he's going to spit out woke defending and pejorative comments like that. The movie was good, though.
@@debesche96 I love when people use "woke" as a vague, catch-all word for an opinion they don't like haha. Today I learned that dismissing people's stupid, petty complaints about people who worked on a movie = "being woke" lmao
Yeah, and it's been annoying for some time now. Between "fan" channels that never seem to find anything to vlog about that they actually like, and the channels that evolved into being more about some personal agenda or ideology and less about the franchises, it's become hard to find fan channels about anything where you can just watch and discuss the object of your enjoyment.
He was right about that, then he said ppl just didn't like that one writer because she's a woman. Killing any momentum towards intelligence he had going.
Agree with your ranking aside from having Quantum of Solace bottom. Having rewatched them all recently, Spectre is quite clearly the worst of the five for me. Quantum sorta works as a tight little action flick and epilogue to Casino Royale.
@@con_doorman disagree. I don't love No Time To Die as much as everyone else. It's quite clearly the middle child of the Craig era for me. Not as good as Casino and Skyfall but better than Quantum and Spectre.
Just returned from the local theatre. Loved the movie as a whole, and it's really the most heartfelt Bond to date. But to me the weight distribution between baddies, and the final act, felt kind of lacking. Plot solution: 'tech-eh-nology'?
I really enjoyed the movie actually. It was special to me because I’ve been a James Bond fan since I was a kid growing up with Pierce Brosnan-I played every video game pretty much. At first I was unsure of Daniel Craig, but he really grew on me and he might be my favorite bond. Another reason it was special to me because it was my first time attending a Bond premier in theaters. I will really miss Daniel Craig as 007. Funny though because my ranking was the same as yours: Casino Royale Skyfall No time to die Spectre Quantum of Solace
It would be interesting to see how critical he is of it, when he has lacked necessary criticism of so many other things lately. His reviews are starting to leave me scratching my head, not that that hasn’t happened before, it’s just become more frequent.
For me it felt so surreal seeing a movie in theaters especially with my family in 2021. I never thought I’d ever see the inside of a actual movie theater again. Literally the last movie I saw was Sonic the Hedgehog back in Feb of 2020 before the pandemic took over. My whole life seems surreal.
Doing reviews for movies, simply calling them Movie Review is absolutely fine! With your new approach I just know the movie was worth it just from seeing you made a video about it. Waiting for more filmmaking and behind the scenes content! I'm loving the new direction you're taking with the channel!
Just saw it. Loved how they were insecure and fighting about the 007 title. “Double-O-What?” Very Bond. A Sean Connery movie with a slick dash of Brosnan and a shake of Laznby 😁👍
Daniel Craig's Bond movies will always be remembered for their explosive action scenes, the intensity is at the second level compared to other Bonds, there's never going to be another Bond like Craig ever (at least for me)
For some reason, I felt like NTTD has several elements from Metal Gear Solid: Metal Gear Solid: Shadow Moses-ish Island, infiltrating it with some kind of a submarine transport, Q feels like Otacon and M feels like Major. Sons of Liberty: a younger 007 with same training, same codename, but still too by the books for her own good Snake Eater: Bond gave his life, not for honor, but for Madeline~ and the ladder sequence Guns of the Patriots: The villain's plan is basically FOXDIE combined with specific strain-based element from The Phantom Pain, too What else?
In MGSV they develop a vocal chord parasite that triggers itself with the sound of certain languages and therefore targets entire etnicities. Sorta reminded me like the nanomachines here that activate when making contact with certain biometrical patterns.
To me the biggest issue of expecting a toxic feminist diatribe was embedded in the trailers we received, in conjunction with the trends of so many other franchises. I have learned to notice these things and honestly never got that vibe for this film. But it caused more contention through alternative things haha
Yeah, studios have definitely been trolling and fueling the fires with a LOT of current marketing. I guess they don't realize that in times like this, there are some people who aren't going to make the effort to go see anything if you intentionally lead with an agenda baiting marketing campaign.
I watch a lot of RUclips, and have been bombarded with ads for this movie. I've easily seen every trailer (against my will lol) dozens of times and I have simply NO idea what you or anyone else was getting from these trailers that made it seem like the film had a "toxic feminist agenda", whatever the fuck that actually means lol
@@lancethefilmguy9392 Thats the question..... Two theories; 1. they are rebooting with a more 'woke' Bond 2. they wanted to end Craig's story arc, as all the movies are connected.

@Imafraid Jumitebeeinnagang yeah idk why but I've seen older people accuse younger people with "you must listen to Billie Ellish haha". How is that an insult, really? It just exposes them as stubborn folks in denial about their boomer-like attitude?
I will say this I wasn’t the biggest fan of it when I first heard it, mainly just because of the way it starts out and the whisper/mumble singing she does I hate; but after listening to it a few times it’s really grown on me and I think it fits the movie perfectly.

I get why he's made this change, and I would rather him talk highly of movies he enjoys, but I must admit, I miss Chritical Stuckman points. He had a very good way of analyzing a film and pointing out its flaws, and now it feels like he's just been in love with every blockbuster of the last few months.
@@Windbend3r Worst of all, he addresses those with actual criticisms with suggestions like: they're against this writer because she's a woman or against certain singers "because they're talented".

She was such a breath of fresh air! I was expecting a typical Bond girl but damn she kicked ass

@@drradon Her character was very timid at first but when the action started she was ruthless. It was great! Very beyond her being hot

Yeah because Craig is the one who choreographs, coordinates and film those scenes. Jesus
Yeah I can't agree but they are good.

"All I asked for was frickin sharks with frickin laser beams attached to their frickin heads!!"

Not really. Acknowledging that someone DIED coincidentally at the time of production is the last thing a film needs.
@@str.77 ??? Elaborate.
@@str.77 a simple “in memory of” at the end of the film would do
I think Ramy Malik was the biggest disappointment in the movie.
The character was a bit weak but I still enjoyed the actor’s performance.
He was way too young for the role. We're supposed to believe that he terrorized Léa Seydoux's character when she was a child. The two actors are clearly close in age. I looked up their true ages, and surprise, surprise: He's only four years older than her.
@@adamzanzie yeah that was mystifying to me too! They didn’t even age him up with the makeup very much.
Craig was the most disappointing, a pathetic love sick discount Bourne
I look forward to seeing more Halloween specials.

I really enjoyed this film. Seeing it in IMAX was a great experience, and this was the perfect swan song for Craig's version of Bond
Did you go to imax here in the city? We all know NYC is the best. All other states bow.
You know what...I never thought of that too...LOL!! Sure would've been cool.
@@Tyler_W yeah she was great. I just think that in a movie you have litle time to develop characters, the best scripts are smart and efficient, adding a new character that doesn't add nothing to the story and "steals" time from other characters that do, kinda hurts the movie.

Yeah, made zero sense. Ruined the movie.
After seeing it I agree. I do think it is the 3rd best bond Craig movie 1. Sky fall 2. Casino royale 3. No time to die
@@panathatube you loathe the fact that the movie ended realistically? Also blofield was highly underwhelming.

@@davidhero1000 dont worry. brosnan may lose in the bond movie department but aleast he won in the bond video game department. pierce will always be my #1 bond till i die and craig 2nd

I watched all of these movies over the course of 1 week and when No Time to Die ended I actually cried a few tears myself. One of my all time favorite movie series.
Shit. Chris is killing the uploads again! At this point he’s going to go on another month break. 💀
Agreed
At least we will always have a plethora of older videos to go through, I understand why he wont rate films anymore
*God
The hole having an issue with Bond's/ Daniel Craig color of eyes is kind of cute. It is silly and that is why I feel a bit nostalgic for those times. Now everybody fights over should 007 be played by a woman, but once all we need for a controversy was to have blue eyes 😅.
Don't forget people also made a huge stink about him having blonde hair. Such an innocent time in retrospect.
The eye criticism has always been hilarious to me because the eyes of Ian Fleming's Bond are...
...blue.
I remember with the whole thing was "a blonde Bond, how utterly ridiculous."
Yeah people being annoyed that a spy could be female lol. Haven't they seen members of government and cops that are female? Judy Dench played one of bonds greatest roles.

Craig isn't better than Connery, Brosnan or Dalton but he had the best films (Casino Royale and Skyfall) people tend to forget that he also had some stinkers (Quantum of Solace and Specter).
He’s the final bond ever so I’m always going to hold what they did against him.
The tone of the movies completely changed with Craig. The old bonds are more or less campy/goofy, and always following the exact same cookie cutter formula. Casino Royale blew me away, I used to think Bond movies kinda suck until that. Seen almost all of them.

SPOILER WARNING
When they go to the island they're specifically told by M to kill both Safin and Obruchev.
Yeah but it was awesome because she pushed him into acid lol
They kept him as a leverage as safin needs him.
Just watched this movie and I agree, completely out of left field. Still a great movie however.
Ahhh that's so nice of them. Not sexist at all lol🤦♂

Sadly is gonna be really difficult to top what Craig did with the character. Best Bond era ever.
For some reason, I felt like NTTD has several elements from Metal Gear Solid:
Metal Gear Solid: Shadow Moses-ish Island, infiltrating it with some kind of a submarine transport, Q feels like Otacon and M feels like Major.
Sons of Liberty: a younger 007 with same training, same codename, but still too by the books for her own good
Snake Eater: Bond gave his life, not for honor, but for Madeline~ and the ladder sequence
Guns of the Patriots: The villain's plan is basically FOXDIE combined with specific strain-based element from The Phantom Pain, too
What else?
I repeated the same while watching this movie I'm glad many people realized the same
NTTD returned the favor after MGS (3 in particular) took inspiration from James Bond
Pretty sure MGS as a franchise was highly influenced by James Bond, though lol.
