I'd never heard of Frances Farmer until the film "Frances" was shown here on British tv last night. It was well made, but I did wonder about the accuracy. Movie makers need to hold the viewer's attention after all and that can mean playing fast and loose with the facts. When it got to the lobotomy I'm afraid I switched off. I couldn't handle that. After that, I caught a bit of the 1958 "This is your life" featuring Frances. She was in middle age and functional, definitely, but the strain of her life was etched into her face. A beautiful woman, though. Tragic.
I get a feeling this guy didn't pay attention while watching the movie.
The better movie is with Susan Blakely will there really be a morning it's a 1983 TV movie much better than the one with Jessica Lange in my opinion

I would probably do the same if I didn't live on the other side of the world. Where is her grave?
