@Gage Jayce I really appreciate your reply. I found the site thru google and Im trying it out atm. Takes a while so I will get back to you later with my results.
These compete well with each other since they're both fwd platforms. They don't really compete with rwd platform rigs like the GV80, X5 or GLE. I really like the value this MDX provides though! Acura did a great job!
The MDX is a strong choice in this segment. The Type-S is going to make it that much stronger against the GV80, X5, GLE and Q7. It may not be as luxurious as, say a GV80, but it's not meant to be. The MDX has always been more on the dynamic end of the driving experience. The MDX to the GV80 is like the X5 to the GLE. The big miss by Acura, to me, is the 2nd and row seats really should have been electrically activated. But maybe their market surveys didn't prove that that was a requirement of buyers, especialy considering the extra weight of the motors and the slowness of a lot of those systems.
Liked the review, personally, I'd buy the Acura before the Cadillac. Cadillac would loose 30% of it's value in a year. But looking forward to your full comparison with the Genesis GV80. I think many people are looking at both of these. I'm shopping both and would like to see the MDX advanced vs GV80 advanced v-6. TIA
It was interesting how those two were so similar on multiple points. But I think the SH-AWD from Acura still have the edge on Cadillac. Specially on bad weather days. Another point to is the space for families. The MDX looks a little more thoughtful on family space and practicality. For me the MDX would be the winner, but the Cadillac looks to be a great choice as well.
@@ph00ny1 you are right... it's probably better in the snow then I think or know about. It will be really interesting to see how well those two systems compare.
A couple things you missed.. The hidden rear wiper which doesn't get loaded up with snow in the Cadillac The folding third row seats are electric up and down in the Cadillac. (Manual in the MDX (something I couldn't live with) And for the last 10 years Cadillacs heated and vented seats have worked off of the climate control, there's no setting for them they just do it. If you remotely start the car your climate control can actually be turned off and it will go by the last temperature setting when you last drove and appropriately turns on the heat or AC, the vented or heated seats, and heated steering wheel if applicable, also overhead AC vents cools the car really quickly something a lot of three rows don't have including the Audi Q7 it will also lock the doors after 8 seconds when you walk away from the car so you never have to worry about if you locked it or not, if you go for the 360 camera it will automatically turn on if you get too close to something like in the Drive-Thru, You don't have to flip it on yourself aside from the fact that it's just a classier looking vehicle it just seems like they do everything right. maybe it comes from being in the business so long..it happens to be the best car I ever owned and just ordered a new one. It just seems like they do everything right even to the fact that they don't constantly annoy you if you don't have your seatbelt on. it's just a light chime every 15 minutes. And in fact it is not a money pit I have had zero problems with it and this is after buying Lexus, Toyota and Infiniti for years..
I would pick the Acura over Cadillac any day more reliable hold its value more and its bigger. And no they don't both have Bose sound system only Cadillac has Bose. Acura has ElS sound system from Panasonic
Both great vehicles but Acura has shipping issues with mdx. They are selling so much that dealers I visited were not even allowing test drives on their very limited stock, long wait times. I ended up purchasing xt6 premium luxury garnet exterior color and yes I constantly get compliments where I take it..very happy with my new xt6. Great vid comparison.
@@ScottParisi well the Cadi is a GM engine, i've read the 6cyl. also has the cyl. deactivation. There is an after market device that deactivates it though, it plugs into the OBD plug. The Acura also has a similar system which also there is an after market device to deactivate it. For me they are a deal breaker, I almost went with Acura, not anymore. Good luck.
I agree the Cadillac looks more elegant the Acura looks more sporty the Acura interior layout is more intuitive I could say & the caddy's just elegantly simple but effective! Acura should provide better maintenance & less problems in the long run. Give Acura the nod for the win!
I would really love to see the snow drive test. Regarding space, it seems you could barely fit in the 2nd row MDX, did you place the front driver way back? I missed also your 3rd row seating test for both. Love your unbiased review👍
For me I don’t care about the power rear seats because I’m not lazy and these suv are not huge like a Tahoe or expedition. So that not a deal breaker but that third camera is a good option that more suv should have especially third row suv and minivan.
Acura is nice but the Advanced trim I was in seemed a bit on the cheap side for 62k side. To much plastic and the black piano stuff plus the rear seats where not that comfortable A discounted Tech version for around 50k is more like it. Also, as far as being reliable and re-sale value you can't beat Acura
Ever been in the X5 or Q7? Just as much gloss black plastic or gloss covered wood in the exact same spots as the MDX. Q7 doesn’t even leather wrap their dash or console like the MDX.
I've owned both and I prefer the Cadillac. I couldn't even get the phone to hook up consistently with the Acura as apparently Acura blames Apple for the problem.
The XT6 is a handsome SUV but the dash/gauge cluster is comparable to a Honda Accord. almost unacceptable in a vehicle that shares a platform and power train with like 4 other Vehicles and easily can exceed 60k. The MDX is very nice but I think the A spec model is the best way to go in terms of looks. Also both offer reliable V6 engines but of course the Honda 3.5 would be the best bet.
Im so surprised he finally picked the American car. I was sure he'd choose the acura once again 🙄 guess i was wrong. Ive never driven either but I'd probably take the acura just because its a newer design 😊
I like the Acura better. Where will the Cadillac b in 300,000 mi . In the junkyard tha Acura will still be going. Honda reliability. Is that snowfall a special effect for your video 😂
Really dislike these vehicles that look like they stuck an i=pad on the dash. Plus the Acura takes high test gas. I'd never buy a car that takes high test.
Did I miss the comparison as to which vehicle is quieter while driving? I am in the market and noise is a deal breaker for me. Please advise your thoughts. Thanks.

Sat in a new mdx , rear seats are not good. Short and hard. Rest of the car is nice. But GV80 beats it easily but mdx is cheaper. Aspec mdx is only 51k

After reading more about fuel management in the Acura, Acura has what is called VCM. Read about it, there is a divice that plugs in the electrical in the engine compartment and bypasses the VCM. FYI.
