    I admire Adidas for like 12 years now, running, walking, training in them feels so good. I had just ordered Solar glide 5 Orange color. My current shoes are Pulseboost HD, still going solid.

    I loved the Solar Glide, specifically the Solar Glide 19 (which came out in 2019). It was comfortable, durable, and I used it on all types of runs! The new Solar Glide 5 also looks nice, but I can't get over the added weight. At this point, I think Puma (Velocity 2) and Skechers (Excess 2) shoes are better for those daily miles.

    Yea! That forefoot strike is definitely coming along! I've heard you say in the previous years that you were trying to land more forefoot and recently it has looked more forefoot over midfoot. No opinions from my end, just cool to see your footstrike up close!

    Thanks for showing some love for the Solar Glide. I've always love the Solar Glides over the years. Not the most talked about runner but I've always love the looks and feel of the shoes. And QOD: Tesla and Apple for different reasons. Tesla for their drive - no pun intended here - to change the world. Apple for putting out products after products that most people would love to have...and very polarizing if you ask me - either you love Apple or not...there's no in between. :)

    After running for years on Asics Kayano, the guy at the runningstore suggested the Solar glide. Since I thought I needed a stability shoe I choose the Solar glide 19 ST… and oh my oh my… what game changer… For me it just felt awesome. After a couple of months I even bought a second pair. Last year I bought two new pairs of the solar glide ST and in between the solarboost. I use for the easy runs outside and the treadmill runs. I just love them.

      Tesla still has achieved full self driving that they promised would come in weeks since 2014. If you had a child when Elon started lying on Twitter, they would be school age now.

    Ok, I admire Chik-Fil-A… while I don’t eat there very often, their business motto is to serve their customers. The employees state “My Pleasure” after you say Thank You and they close on Sunday to allow the employees to have that day. Their leadership is tried and true and in the south… and now many other parts of the USA…. They are the mark of excellence.

    QD.. I'm going to tie into the parley reference. It is great seeing shoe brands stepping up to address the environmental impact of their shoes.. Adidas have been working with Parley for years. Many brands are now bringing in shoes that have a smaller 'footprint' on our planet. And (full disclosure.. I'm proud to be a brooks ambassador).. super proud of Brooks. Not because they were the first athletic brands to sign the climate pledge, or because the Ghost is now carbon neutral, but because they have really embraced my own plogging. They have been so incredibly supportive of my own mission. It shows me a big brand can still have capacity to focus on an individual and that individual's attempt to raise awareness .

    I bought a pair of Solar Glide 5s around Christmas last year on sale. Got around 200km on them. The ride was quite nice initially, but for me and my feet there seems to be a pressure point on the inside of the arch that was quite annoying and gave me a solid blister.

    On the “why UB over these” question - I imagine the UB is geared more at the fashion crowd after taking off in the streetwear world over the past few years. So the Solars are more of the cushy shoe for running, the UBs are the cool shoes.

    Looks like a good shoe to sonsider....for lifestyle people and runners. If anything....I would hae liked to have seen Adidas include the reflective 3M strips on the "3-stripes" as they did with the SolarBoost shoes. As I'm sure a lot of runners run into the night or in the night. Why not be a little more visible and not have to go buy some 3M Freflective tape? :) If okly the had a blue....
    And for people living in Canada....Adidas Canada has discounted this shoe down toe $135.99 CDN....I think it's regularly a $180.00 CDN shoe....not cheap for an "all around training shoe". Costing more than the Nike Peg 39 and the Puma Velocity Nitro 2.....might order a pair....

      I don’t know, I think a lot of Tesla’s “pushing the boundaries” is just a marketing scheme. For instance, over 80% of the charging stations for its electric cars are powered by fossil fuels.

      @Ptrmndza 2 года назад

      @@andrewcarnegie5342 Because many companies aren't really green, it's all just marketing hype, doing it quietly imllies a sincere effort. I mean, doesn't everyone already know about global warming/climate change?

    • @andrewcarnegie5342
      @andrewcarnegie5342 2 года назад +1

      @@Ptrmndza Even if a company doesn't make significant difference in the environmental impact, the marketing done to make people aware of environmental issues still makes a huge impact, more than doing it quietly. If someone is doing something good, it should be known by many more so other people can get influenced too. And I think adidas is actually doing something good unlike apple that removed chargers in the name of environmental benefits but doing that actually increases the packaging waste.

    • @Ptrmndza

      Why does it need to be marketed when everyone already knows about environmental issues, Adidas creating marketing hype to sell more shoes isn't going to help the environment, it just encourages narcissism

    Nike. As basic of an answer that it is, you have to give kudos to how far they have come in 50 years. From selling shoes out of a van in the early 70’s, to being one of the largest companies in the world by 2022. It’s mind blowing, inspiring, and should give any entrepreneur hope!
