I am not Seth, but I think I can give you some kind words my friend. Unless I am terribly sick, I get outside for a run or a bike ride every single morning. The key is simply starting, gaining some momentum/stringing some days together, and staying consistent after that. I was about as heavy as a drinker could be, but because of running and endurance sports as a whole, alcohol is no longer a part of my life. And just like the key to stopping the boozin’ was to simply get some consecutive days going, the same can be said about the start and maintaining of getting those runs in. It doesn’t feel good at first. This is especially true if you are out of shape, but if you stick with it, it will naturally become a part of your day, and ultimately, a part of your life. It doesn’t come overnight. You just have to start putting the work in, and then you will learn to enjoy and love running. Running and endurance sports have so much more to give the world than just making people physically healthier.
@@AlexGallo-u9s I thank everyone one of you guys. I do think when I worked night shift it was much easier to fit everything into a day. But now since I’m on day shift I’m having to move things around to try to fit everything in. I’m going to make myself go this Monday morning Labor Day in honor of the 40th Labor Day road race in Macon Georgia. May not be a 5k but at least I’ll be moving outside. Thank you again
Just ran in them today. Oh my!!! Disclaimer- I’m a HOKA Flyer (volunteer brand representative) but this shoe is in my top 2 all time from HOKA. I have run in the original Tecton X , X2 and now X3. Tightening the laces got a good lockdown for me. Less technical single track in Nebraska let this old boy fly today. Love the Bierstadt shots Seth.
A couple of things: imho these run small. I sized up a half size and they fit much better…also 4 miles into my run up South Boulder Peak the left outsole on the big toe side started to delaminate…pretty silly for a shoe that costs 3 bones with tax. Returning mine to RW…looked like Walmsley was on the 2.5s at the start of UTMB today…
Thanks for the review Seth. I have the Tectonic 1 and 2 and have loved that shoe as my go to trail shoe. I don’t want the built in gaiter or the $275 price….too much. I hope they offer a Tectonic 3 without the gaiter and for a lower price and other colors.
I purchased both the agravic ultras and tecton X3's, dissapointed with the agravic for a couple reason I wont go into but the tectons seemed to tick all the boxes for me, I was never keen on the generic hoka design so this was nice to see for me
Any water crossings? Some experienced reviewers have said that these get so ridiculously waterlogged that they simply can't be recommended for any races with the potential for wet conditions... which is a lot of trail races, especially the ultramarathons these shoes were designed for. Seems the designers may have missed a key element.
In fact, it was actually in a David Roche post-leadville CR interview that he discussed how he would have wanted to race it in the X3, but simply could not due to their tendency to absorb such a strange amount of water, hence he went with the Terrex Speed Ultra.
Seth, do you still have all of the shoes you've collected, used and reviewed over the years? You always said you would keep them forever so that you could look back and compare them to previous iterations.
How many times have you come home from a run and said to yourself “boy I sure regret going for that run”. Almost never (unless you got injured). You always feel way better that you did it. Keep that mindset
It would be cool if you just did like two shoe videos or other equipment a week. I’m liking the current content also but I personally do like your reviews and did depend on them.

This was meant to be a reply to Matt McCollum

Congrats on sobriety. We’re all addicts! Gotta discover those healthy addictions!

What's the other shoe in your top 2?
Whats the number 1???
See you tomorrow bro🤘🏃♂️
Thanks for the review, I just got the X2 and really want to test this Tecton 3.
Safe travels - you rock!
Went with the Adidas Terrex Speed Ultra a few weeks ago which I've been really happy with... But these are exciting!

I have had issues with mine delaminating above the carbon wings. Design flaw. If you notice the X 2.5 does not have the wings.
DGR running shoe reviews are can’t miss TV
Bring back the shoes review Seth
no time these days but will drip in some every now and then
I love them but it's just hard to shell out 275$ for shoes!

Great point. Also valid for the sweat, in warmer place (like HK...). If the shoe is not breathable enough, that creates issues
ID on the shades please
Looks really similar with adidas ones,in the midsole lines for sure.

yes I do!
Hey Seth, I’m trying to motivate myself to get back out there to run. I’m having trouble doing it, any suggestions? Please help

Start small. Smalls wins snowball.
Was this yesterday? because I almost went there yesterday
Those Oofos are great, aren't they?!

If I had the time I would Joseph. Wish I could for you.
Shoe reviews... or bust. Sorry these are your best videos🤷♂️
Seth, you are looking a little homeless with the beard. Hope everything is alright
I hope you have a great day too ❤️
whoever the women commenter is the nervous laugh is annoying
These are cool but not for $275.
Why does Seth look like a homeless person now?
