These are my go to running shoes and chill shoe if I have nothing to do during the day. They've done me well past 100 km's and also have barely any wear and tear on them! It's always good to get them at a discount. didn't regret getting mine at over 66% off! These hug your foot well, and have that awesome forward support from the LEP plate.
In the Beginning, Hype kinda took it over for a while and adidas kinda ran with both, hence the million models, but now they are getting back their roots of what it was built for. OG & DNA are lifestyle and the yearly model is a more running model.
One of the bwst shoe ever i brought i.e. ub 22 pearl blue 💙 and i used 1 month and run daily 10k ..and literally it is a grt long run and as well as brust speed too.. very robust and perfect fit. I know it is expensive but one thing i want to tell you guys u will love this after u purchase.. iam using for sprints , long runs and dynamic workout also.
Doc, thank you so much for this video! I just found your channel and after watching previous performance reviews thought to myself I'd love to hear his thoughts on Ultraboost. looking forward to your thoughts on other brands as wel
My experience with the Ultraboost 20s was a mixed bag. Out of the box, super comfortable, plush upper, and I like the feeling of fresh boost. However after using them for running and workouts, I found that they bottom out quickly and I wasn't comfortable taking them to 100 miles for strictly running because the support for my joints and knees felt a steep dropoff as well as planar fascitis issues. It was then relegated to casual wear which was great and I put way more miles in them as a daily beater. I know the 21s and 22s have more boost so it's more dense but I'm hesitant to pay retail for these again, maybe if there was a huge sale, I might try them again but I'm kinda over boost...
A running shoe review! Very good sir👍 keep up the variety. I still have the Ultraboost 19 so i will retire it when i pick up the U22s. I guess Boost is still life.
Thrilled to get running shoe analysis. Shocked to find foot doctor Zach heel striking and calling the UB 22 'light' 😅 Love the 21/22, especially the waterproof cold ready 21. Turned my first pair into the best pair of yardwork + disk golf shoes ever.
I’ve watched a lot of videos, and somehow have not heard you mention that you’re from Pittsburgh, but have thought that I’ve seen some of the courts you’re on. That’s awesome. I’ll be sure to say hi if I see you around. Your content is great and bring a lot of value to anyone who watches it.
I love my Ultraboost 21’s and Ivy Park Ultraboost OG. And I agree with you, perfect work, flight and vacation shoe or anything in between. It’s like the perfect comfy supportive good looking sock. Oh and the Gore-Tex and Cld.Rdy ones are good options also.
I like them for as all-day shoe too(stand most of the day). I think they are a little narrow and will cause a little discomfort along the outside of my foot if laced to tightly. Pretty fine line for me between to loose or some discomfort. Nice shoe if you catch them on sale not sure if I am willing to pay the $190 retail price.
Great vid! You should do a comparison between the original ultraboost that was hyped and started it all compared to the pair of today to see what they updated/upgraded over the years
What’s up Doc! Great review as usual and good insight. 👌🏾. I wear them as an everyday shoe because of the comfort. I wish they’d bring back the pure boost like they were in 2015 just a pillow for the foot.
Any plans on reviewing the Ultraboost Light? It’s different enough than the previous gen to warrant a review. Aside from the obvious change in midsole foam, the Primeknit, the cage, the heel cushioning, and the LEP shank were all revised (and most say improved).
Thank you for the amazingly well done content and I have enjoyed a lot. I was wondering is it possible for you to do some recommendations for shoes you wear at work or daily life/business trips? Also would be nice if I could be able to see some Hoka reviews.
I got a pair for work, the midsole is great but the rubber logo on the tongue digs into my skin all day and its hurts like a B and the ankle opening is way too tight, only adds to logo digging into my skin even more. Can't return them sadly, only thing I can think of to fix it is to cut slits on both sides of the "tongue" so it's not so tight around my ankle and taking a heat gun to the rubber logo on the tongue and peeling it off.
Thank you for this review. I bought them and returned them because I found the heel jutted back too much and made my feet look like dinosaurs. However with such good specs I am wondering whether to re-order them and try again. Can you do a review of Puma Deviate Nitro 2?
Unfortunately I didn't like the 21's or 22's. I have a long but skinny foot (size 14). For my foot type you need to tighten the laces more than normal and the fabric bunches up under the laces which is extremely uncomfortable. Great video!
I would like to hear from you on adidas lightstrike. They are using it a lot in trail shoes and I'm interested in your take on how it stacks up against other midsoles.
I have the 21, and it was stiff as heck out of the box. Broke it in, and my feet keep looking for them lol. And comparing it to the Nike Pegasus 38, I find that the Ultraboost has less forefoot cushion, but the extravagant heel cushion and the Primeknit more than make up for it. I'm a bit hesitant to put serious miles into the shoe though. It's expensive as heck for a daily training runner.
Hey Zach. Keep up the nice work on the content. I have a question. I believe I have injured my deltoid ligament. I currently use the vapor pros. What shoes would you recommend for ankles and maybe deltoid lig support. Cheers thanks.
My experience with early iterations of Continental rubber is it wears out way to fast, so that makes sense when you say it was developed from their motorcycle wet tyres, I was just thinking it was a gimmick saying these were developed by Continental or else Continental tyres just suck, but yeah wet motorcycle tyres would explain it. I just ordered a pair of ultraboost 21s for a really good deal, so it will be interesting to see how durable they are
Hi Zach, I just got this shoes online. have you every experienced the feeling that the your heel would slide out? It seems the grip on the heel/ankle is not that good, but it does not slide out actually. I am always size US9 on all my Adidas shoes, including my ultraboosts 1, uncaged, 19 and 20. So, I am thinking, maybe I should have ordered a size down or is it really normal for ultraboost 22?
What's a good running shoe for someone suffering from shin splints? I've run in Brooks Adrenaline, Brooks ghost & Nike free. The latter being better with shin splints, although lousy with cushioning-thx in advance.
@Foot doctor Zach Please cut open and review LeBron 16 and 17. The difference and Jordan Mars 270 . ( These are my hoop shoes for my next tournament) Please Zach. Can u make at least 1 of those my tourney shoes for new season.reallywanted to look inside tech
Anyone found the shoes gripping their feet tightly at the sides? I really hate it! After a while, my feet feel cramped! The toe box is also not generous in space. It doesn't improve even if you get 1/2 a size larger. (I don't have wide feet, by the way.) I can't wait to remove the shoes just after 30 minutes of wearing them. After that, my feet feel so much lighter and relieved.
You keep saying light. I’m curious from what aspect? Compared to other running shoes these are much heavier. But I love these nonetheless. Cool review.
Hey, doctor Zach I bought these in my tru size and really hurts my foot on the outside, I don't know if it is cause my foot arch or if I should go 1/2 a size up
I tried some on today. Nike I wear 12.5. adidas I tried a 12 have Way more room in toe box, then tried 11.5 And was to tight. I know shoes made differently. But is this normal between Nike and Adidas
Most Runners agree Ultraboost isn’t meant for Running. More like a daily trainer or all rounder shoe. It’s heavy and the forefoot is firm. The shank/plate doesn’t affect that much as it’s easily bendable more like a gimmick but it does support instead of propels you forward. It’s mainly an aesthetic lifestyle shoe. Anyone says Ultraboost is good for running must’ve not tried other running shoes.
I like them for running. Strava tells me I've run 350 miles in my Ultraboost 21s. I've also tried the Asics Gel-Kayano 27 and I felt like glued to the ground with them. :))) Do you have other recommendations? I really like the boost I feel from these.
Most Runners dont talk to each other. Because why would they? They use a shoe they like. When someone says ultraboost 21 or 22 isnt mean for running you know for sure that they never ran in them.
So… you’re saying… boost and ultraboosts are two different materials. Not just “boost”. Yeezy boost = boost foam, ultraBoost is a whole other type of boost???
Hi Zach, I'm the big fan of you, love your video!! we are socks company of Socks Daze, do you think if it's possible for you to make viedo for our socks?😁
They are a great comfort all day kick around walking sneaker with probably the best colors & styles of any brand but the major flaw is their too heavy to be a runner unless they drop the weight a good amount they will never compete with NB, HOKA & Brooks
The ultraboost is the same weight as the NB More V3 and Hoka Bondi 7. It should be looked at like a max stack recovery shoe. Totally light enough for that
Ultraboost is my favorite shoe I might have 20 pairs of them but it's actually a bad shoe. It's comfortable yes but after 2-3 months of light use the shoes are completely destroyed, especially in the 3 lines it starts to rip off extremely easily and if you run or walk a long distance your legs will pain a lot, it's so soft to be comfortable but your leg feels everything and that's why after some time they are exactly the opposite... I work at a shoe store and the ultraboost 22 is in the lifestyle section 😢. This video really tells me that they should be in the running section!
