Fallow Rut 23 Pt 1 The Failing

The 2023 rut saw me take my first animal with a bow and a cracking buck at that.
What those single success photos on Instagram and Facebook never show are the emotional highs and lows that happen during an extended hunt.
This was not an easy trip, it was a strange rut this year and the bucks were not coming into the rattle like they did last year. There were big ups and downs and there was even a period after a bad shot and bad luck that I thought about not wanting to hunt with the bow at all. This trip had it all and I could not have written the script to it if I had tried.
This is part 1 of 2 videos that I hope has captured some of the action, emotions and difficulties faced in what was one of the most immersive and rewarding state forest adventures I've had so far.

Thanks mate, 35 yrs, thats awesome, I was a club shooter 34 yrs ago for a few yrs, just back into it, couldn’t believe the changes to compounds in that time! My bow back then only had a 20% let off and that was considered high tech! Must have been amazing watching it evolve to what it is today.

Extremely frustrating. Sometimes thing’s just don’t work out. But day after day no way- yes there is. Especially when a specific target is selected days can go by. Maybe never. This is one awesome video. What a great looking piece of land for bow hunting. 👍👍🏹👀
