- I have watched Travis pass on a lot of elk this year looking for a really big bull. Unfortunately, because of Travis being selective as he is, he ate his special draw tag and had to get creative at the last minute to fill his freezer. There is a blackpowder cow elk hunt at the end of the year that he took advantage of. Enjoy this elk hunt!!!

20 years of consistent successful elk hunting is insane. I’m like.. the opposite. Lol.
Nice work Trav! The kiddos are growing up fast.
Awesome job not giving up! I love tracking in the snow.
Great work Travis! Congrats on the meat in the freezer!!! That was definitely a bull worth hunting 👍
You are truly blessed. 👍🏻
Great job Travis! Awesome video
Awesome stuff! 👌
Good work!!
that was awesome.
so much easier to drag in the snow
Great work and great shot. Not sure of the regulations where you hunt but a load I recommend that we use here in Pa for deer and bear and we have devasting results is running 120 grains of blackhorn 209 with a powerbelt elr 330 grain bullet. It kicks like a mule tbh but I have shot two mature deer with them and both of them have dropped like a ton of bricks. If you do decide to run this load make sure you are using a federal 209A primer since the powder requires a hotter flame.
A lot of people would have given up much sooner. Way to stick to the trail and finish the deal.
Well done !
🥩 ❤️ 🔥 great job!
I have been hunting whitetail in Ontario, legally since 1974. I have shot some nice bucks, but for me, it's more important to put meat in the freezer. I never was a bear hunter, although our tags used to be for both bear and deer, and I wasn't fussy about the taste of bear. I haven't gotten a deer for over 11 years now, but it's still something I enjoy doing. It's amazing how things change. At one time I was the energetic kid who wanted to do all of the dogging because I couldn't stand still, and now I can sit in a blind indefinitely as long as I have a good book to read. The outdoor has always been where I wanted to be, and that will remain so until I'm dead.
Awesome!
Congratulations Great videos
Verry verry nice hunt man congrat.
Hopefully next year you will get a good big bull to make up for the past 2 years
Rutting bull taste bad. How many 6x6 would you want ? I agree going for the biggest bull. Then harvesting a cow for the meat. Congratulations. You had a full season.
Thank you
Love the content. A cow makes pretty good chewing. Some years one earns every bite. My oldest brother lived in Idaho his entire life and used every season available for an elk. Idaho is really nice that way. Montana had about a week of sidelock traditional muzzle loader season in December the last 2 years. I hope to do it this year if I'm not healing up from yet another surgery.
Great Job! Travis you ever take someone with you in the meat hunt? Would love to get a cow.
What kind of tape covers the muzzle? Also, do you like the fiber optic sights? Would you consider a peep sight?
I don't know anyone who can drag an elk like that, pretty wicked, was she a smaller cow? I've only ever killed spike bulls and always thought cows are usually bigger/heavier than spikes.
Snow helps a lot, couldn't do it on dry ground
What muzzleloader did you use?
What bullet were you using?
All my hunt are Meat Hunts as I don't kill things for any other reason.
Had an identical situation this year here in Coeur d’Alene but the 4 hour tracking ended in no cow elk found I was gutted.
All my hunts are meat hunts.
I don’t see why you were dragging that cow when you got three little helpers. Hang some gummy worms in front of them and tie them to the elk. Gotta use your resources. 😂
Ha ha, so true. Next time, they are doing all the work
Does a pregnant cow count has 2 elk and do you eat the fetus?
Lol
All hunts are "meat hunts"😮
I don’t eat wolf
@Stuck N The Rut ya but they eat the animals we hunt, so have some "crow", go watch an "addicted" while "hushin" through the woods...hey start doing "catch clean and cooks" or "wilderness challenges" that's the way to RUclips fame!
Do you hate hunting or something?
@@tolt1776 What are you on about?
LIKE !!!
The worst part is getting the Elk out of the woods.
The Roosevelt Elk I hunt from the North Oregon coast are much bigger species.
