Realized my Super Slim turns 10 this year, and I've never taken it apart to clean it. Followed along with your video and all went well and she's MUCH quieter now. Thanks!
Mine too, but are you skilled? The reason I asked is because last night I completely cleaned my ps4 pro. While watching a fully detailed tutorial. And everything went well, and I'm amazed because I don't have any experience doing so. Now I'm thinking about my ps3 super slim, but my concern is it looks a little bit more complicated to tear apart. So tell me, how was your experience
@@SquallRanger Late to the party. I've never broken down and cleaned consoles in my life. Just did my PS3 super slim with this video. Not too complicated in my opinion. Took me about 45 minutes. EDIT: I should also mention I managed to do it without a proper torque tip driver.
You called it the worst ps3, but in reality it is actually the best ps3 ! Maybe not a looker but the inerds are solid and reliable. No worrying and disk drive issue either.
I had only one little problem (meaning my ps3 works, but...) When I connected the two front cables for the disk reader, the wider cable wouldn't get back in, I did push it so the reader works while the ps3 is horizontal, but as soon as I put it upside down the cable slips away and the reader doesn't work... Can't tell the ps4 temp because it's not modded, but the jet fan noise is completely gone. Silent running now, thankyou for your easy guides :)

Hello, i have a small problem afer doing all the steps the only issue i see is ps3 not reading my disc. I'm pretty sure the problem is the ribbon cable from the back. I can't find any explanation on how to put it correctly, could you explained how to put that cable in the right place?
Hey. I know it is probably too late to respond to this question, but I have also faced with this problem and could solve it by re-plugging the ribbon cables that are coming from the disk driver. Make sure the ribbon cables are plugged at the depth JUST as the black mark shows or else there won't be any contact.
I think I'm going to take mine apart all over again plug and unplug those disc drive ribbons until I can get the disc spinning again. Other than that the video was beautiful @@Lawnmate
My ps3 super slim , just recently after about an hour of play ( gta v) the fan goes super loud so I’m guessing its in need of a clean and re paste, hoping I’m not to late🙏. Ive watched quite a few youtube tutorials on the process ,as I’ve never done anything like this before , but your video is the most clear and concise I’ve watched. Just waiting on the delivery of mx paste and security screwdriver kit and I’ll be good to go. Cant wait to see how little or lots of dust is in mine 😂 Thankyou for a great video 👍🏻
Turns out the dust wasn’t as bad as expected! Followed your video stage by stage, no problem other than getting the new paste to stay stuck evenly to the two chips, was a bit of a faff. Put it all back together, crossed my fingers and played gta v for 3 hours with no fan issues at all. Hopefully Ive saved my ps3 thanks to your video, thank you 👍🏻
Ay do you have a teardown on the ps4 slim available? I did this with my 3 and it runs so good even though I didn’t have paste to put on when I took it apart. I’d like to see your version of the ps4 S if you have it I like your explaining.

My PS3 super slim stopped reading game discs and blu-ray but still plays regular dvd movies. Im wondering if a cleaning and new thermal paste would fix this issue. Fingers crossed 🤞
If it stops reading discs, and especially if it's reading one type of disc but not another, it's the laser. No thermal paste will fix the laser, but if you're already opening it up, it's a good time for a clean and some new thermal paste. My PS3 fat started acting strangely with BD games and movies but played CD, PS1, PS2 and DVD just fine. Eventually anything BD stopped working completely. For that model you can choose to replace just the laser, the laser cartridge or the entire disc drive. I went for cartridge and it turned out fine. I don't know for superslim but if you're gonna replace something you might as well order something larger than the smallest component and have your broken one as backup.
