Joseph Mingle no the police only arrest and send to court, they have no power as to what happens in the courts. If I was a police I’d arrest any criminals and then they’d be sent to court. If court decides to let them go or give the a small sentence I would have no jurisdiction

This is so much easier and bettrr for US AND THE POLICE. Its not just benefiting them, remember that. This makes our lifes much easier aswell as theres. We can see more police which reassures us instead of them all being cooked up in a station.

not necessarily, depends on the situation. things like statements usually you will only have 1 officer but something that could be more physical or possibly violent you would normally have 2.
In England, it depends on the case In places like Scotland the police must travel in pairs so that if they see someone commit a crime the perpetrator can't just deny it because 2 people saw them

Ordinary officers do not carry guns and mostly carry tasers, pepper spray and batons. However armed response units, counter terror units etc all carry firearms however you must be an authorised firearms officer.
