looking for a first bike, going to get my license soon. Fell in love with the looks of the fz6! Thank you for this video. Hearing that this is your first bike and you still love it after 4 years is awesome!
I got my fz6n about 3 months ago as my first bike and it has been amazing. It's definitely a pretty tame 600cc bike. The only thing I don't really like as a beginner is how twitchy the throttle can be (but could just be something with mine) and the clutch is kinda heavy but nothing crazy
I have mine since 2004!! You gave me some great ideas how to refresh the look! I remember my life from 1980 till now driving only motorbikes and occasionally my car! Had 12 from Honda to Kawasaki but for the last 15years I believe this is the best I owned! Nice video!
I also have a 2007 FZ6 but I went the other way - not toward supersport but small sport tourer. I added canvas bags, a slightly taller windscreen, bar risers frame sliders and the OEM Comfort seat. Would like to have this bike only with the modern rider aids found on the FJ like ABS, linked brakes, throttle by wire, steering damper and traction control. But I’m an old guy.
Great video. Quality is good, good talking points and not a lot of unnecessary rambling and not to mention great looking bike. This video is satisfying to watch.
You seem like a really happy owner man. I've wanted a small sport tourer for a while because 2.5hr trips home on a sport are starting to suck(only the hr of highway really). I picked up an S1 6 weeks ago for this season. Have only ridden it once for about 400ft to shift through the gears. It was down once on left side, weak/dead battery, small dent in tank, leaking front fork seal(saturated the right pads), bald front tire, and it looks like it was driven through mud. It needed some TLC, but I could tell it was a gem underneath. It's not riding season here in the NE, so I'm REALLY thirsty for this one to start. It's been 35 degrees here for the past couple of weeks(at least) and doesn't look like it's going to break in the forecast anytime soon. Sooo since the weather is going to piss me off til the very end, the bike is in pieces in the garage and my house. I patched all of the fairings, replaced front tire, battery, pads and brake cables, fork seals and fluid swap, installed a belly pan, replaced missing or worn OEM parts, new stator cover, and did the rest of the entire service list. I've been detail cleaning everything as I go. Since everything is off the bike I want to roll it out of the garage and actually wash the thing, but high of 35 degrees isn't the best for that.....FML. haha. I'm so bored now I'm shopping for an exhaust, sliders, and have been cleaning the headers. I can't wait to get out and get to know this bike. I feel like an unpaid women's tailor and stylist at this point. It's so demeaning. Did you change the bar clamps? I thought the S2's came with the single wide clamp. I was thinking about swapping for the large clamp, but I want to mount my phone exactly like you have yours. Did you add a charging port yet? What are you doing with your corbin? Did you add gel to your factory seat? I've been looking at covers too. Any difference in comfort after swapping the bars out? You guys in that sunny most of the time weather are really blessed. Don't take it for granted. Enjoy and ride safe.
BRO I totally forgot to add the charging ports I added to the handlebars!! haha The Corbin I'm not sure what I'll do with yet. If anyone wants it, I'd let it go for like $200. I didn't add any gel to the stock seat, it's already comfortable enough for me. And nope, I got the bike with those clamps on it. I did add spacers, though, to raise it a tiny bit so the clutch and brake cables don't rub. This is my charging port on the bars amzn.to/2FOIP1h And these are the spacers I used! amzn.to/2FBnVUl
Cool thanks man. I found it, and found your picture of your bike with the mirrors on. I have a 2008 Yamaha FZ6. So they should fit great, thanks again.
I just bought a 2009 fz6, first bike I every bought, new to riding not even 5miles of total riding. I am looking to do some upgrades don't want to boost the HP just make it look aggressive. I like your bike and I will be getting some of your upgrades. Nice bike bro. Thanks for the video
First, Congrats on a good video. Covered the bike well and didn't take all day doing it! Bonus! You also listed all the mods in the description. Very complete. Just bought 08 FZ6 with low miles. I've owned a few brands/types of bikes. Still tour with Harley Glide. And other fun bike is Suz GS850GX. Looking forward to some touring with the FZ6. So far, this bike is everything any rider needs...except a radio. :-) ps; One of my first 'mods' is painting the silver radiator brackets. Why did Yamaha make them silver?? They remind me of the ugly hinges on Harley tour packs.
Nice video, I'm looking for a nice midweigh sports tourer for next year and this is definitely showing some promise. I'm an "older" rider so not looking to be to sporty now. Thanks for the info. Andy
Cool mods. Thanks for sharing. I'm with you on the levers. I had the nice CRGs on an 848 and it's really hard to tell the difference, so why pay the dollars?!
i have the same bike, btw at what rpms you switch gear? I read somewhere that I should put 2nd 3rd etc at 5k 6k but it feels so loud to do this. (have custom exh too) and most of the time I end up switching at 3k but I'm afraid I'm hurting the bike
I absolutely love this bike and great video! One question, did you remove the cat? If so how many miles did you put on it with it no cat, and did you experience any issues? Thanks
Nice video. What cell phone holder do you got? Awesome mods I just bought a 2009 FZ6. Had some work like two brother exhaust, rim tape, short rear turn signals and short levers. I posted my first video of the exhaust. Can't wait to start working on mine
Hey man, love the videos. I have a question I was hoping you or the community might know the answer. I have an 09 Fz6 and when I bought it, the was a little black box that has been wired into the high beam bulb. The box says EP on it or FLP, inside the box is a little circut board. Cant tell what it does. There are no LED or HID light on the bike so Im pretty sure its not a ballast. Have any ideas? Keep the good content coming!
Awesome bike, I could only get the light blue version 09 with the silver frame :( it did have the proper Yamaha belly pan extra even been colour matched so I still think it looks nice. The only thing id say for yours is try to colour match the belly pan? I know your gonna say I like the black look though hehe
Nice vid about the bike. I'm hoping to pick one up this spring. Why the 48 sprocket? I've been a shaft driven rider and wondering about chains and sprockets. Thanks!
That awkward moment when you spot a very misplaced progrip tank protector lmao. Bikes looks amazing but every time I see a bike where that’s so high I’m just like 😬 bottom is supposed to be tucked under the seat on that tank. It’s supposed to protect your tank mainly from your crotch zipper lol. On a supersport it may be a bit higher cause your belly might actually ride on the tank. But we all know you’re not that leaned over on the fz6.
The Inja not trying to hate on it tho man you did make that bike beautiful 👍🏻 picking one up Wednesday and your vid helped me finalize my decision. Thanks man !

The Inja Yo! Just sold it tonight. I’m gonna miss that bike. I love Harley’s. But these bikes have are a species all their own. The young man who got it will love it.
Hi @@TheInja Their is a wiring harness kit that replaces the removed wiring and gives back the double headlights for £20 on ebay, on my 1998 fazer600 the nearside bulb is dual high/low beam and the offside has just high beam; so the new wiring gives both high/low beams on both lights; just incase your wondering I asked someone doing the lights AND will be doing it to my bike, after the exhaust and a service. lush video chears
I recently bought a 2007 fz6 but the previous owner had converted it to the naked version that has the big round head light with no fairings. I was wondering if I would be able to convert it so that it would have dual headlights like yours or if that wouldn’t work?
Hey. Nice mods on your Fazer ;) How are those upgraded mirrors? Besides looking good, do they also provide a better view angle? I absolutely hate the rearview capabilities with stock mirrors on my FZ6S2 Fazer, therefore looking for an upgrade as well.
Dear Inja. I also have a yamaha fazer 600 S2 like you, and I love it, but I find a fault that maybe you have already solved. Can't you find the clutch lever too hard? I have already tried several things. I have put the Fz6 cable without a fairing, that the cable does not have the elbow when leaving the handle. I grease the cable often and when I make a route of more than 300 km my hand ends with pain. Have you done anything to solve this? Thank you.
Hey Jordi, I have a solution for your clutch lever problem. I own a 2009 fz6 that had the same issue. I replaced the clutch slave lever with an fz 07 slave lever. The yamaha part number is 1ws-16340-00. You can find a write up about this mod on the fz6 forum. It worked awesome. Good luck!
