I don't think "The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor" is a bad movie, it's just not as good when compared to the first two. I think it would have done better if it was a stand-alone movie. I'm glad that you enjoyed it, though. It deserves recognition as a decent movie.

The new Evie is the problem the chemistry isn’t there. As for a fourth movie take a look at a pic of Brandon and you’ll have your answer.

The way it’s explain is that Zi Yuan was brought by the yeti to the pool where she was made immortal. She was already pregnant with the general’s kid and raised her as well as made her immortal so they could guard the emperors tomb waiting for the day when they will kill him. She was needing to give up her and her daughters immortality in order to raise the army hidden in the wall which pleased her daughter because now she could finally fall in love and not worry about living forever with a broken heart. The reason the emperor took Lin was that he was going to make her bare his children because he couldn’t have the mother.There are some deleted scenes to this film and one of them including the scene of the night that zi and the general consummated their love. It kind of falls underneath that “quote it’s better to have loved and lost than to never have loved at all. “

First! Lol. Honestly the only thing I dislike about this movie is the recasting. The Movie itself is solid in my opinion.

20:01 Jet Lee probably used a Mocap suit to capture the movements for CGI capture in the shots of his terracotta mummy form; assuming they didn't use a stand in to save money, but most martial artists insist on doing there own stunts and more so he probably used a Mocap suit for every shot his character was involved in.. If somebody could fact check that for me, I'd be grateful for it; I'm now curious so it would be greatly appreciated.. Thank you kindly if someone does reply with the information, if not it's all good.. I'm drunk and playing GTA Online atm while watching/listening to this so I already got my hands full, fitting for the day after my birthday lol.. Yeah I was drunk for my birthday too, quite usual for my birthday seeing as I hate it and thank God for autocorrect and voice to text technology in cell phone ls LMFAO
Personally I didn’t have any issues with this film. It’s just a fun action adventure, but yeah, does not connect greatly to the former two.
Brendan Fraser did more slapstick stuff in this movie. Getting his neck hooked with the fish hook was very slapstick, just like in films like Dudley Do-Right and Furry Vengeance.
I heard that the other actress who played Evelyn in the first 2 films didn't want to be in this movie after reading the script. I can't be certain if that's true, but it's what I heard.
Nobody knows why Rachel Weisz the original actress from the first two movies didn't come back. Some say that I was because she was pregnant at the time. Others say that I was because she didn't like the script. Others say that it was because the movie takes place many years after the events of The Mummy Returns and the son was now grown up and her characters was now way older. Rachel allegedly didn't want people to think she was that old.
I guess we will never know why she didn't come back.
Also said cause she got an Oscar a couple years prior and wanted to do more "serious" films
Weisz herself said that she had scheduling conflicts with filming, particularly because the shoot would mean spending five months in China immediately after she’d wrapped another film and she had an infant at the time.
Whatever the reason, recasting Evie was such a poor decision and ultimately hurt the film. I think Rob Cohen underestimated how much Rachel Weisz and her chemistry with Brendan Fraser brought to the series.
I also heard that she said that she felt like she was too young to play the mom to a 21 year old so she declined the film because it wouldn’t be believable. Idk if that’s true or not.
@@therealameliabedelia7821 Men often do underestimate what the women bring to films, thinking they're interchangeable. Weisz' chemistry with Fraser was a huge reason they worked so well.

I heard somewhere that Rachel Weisz, who played in previous movies Evelyn, was ill or injured at the time, so she could not play. Nice reaction 😀.

the reson he mention peru, was because they were planing on making a 4th movie in peru (there are mumies in peru as well) but it is a real shame the 4th movie never came ;-; i wish it had, and i still wish it does

The change of actress was on account of she didn't think she should be portrayed as a mother of such an old son so she refused to participate.

I always say the same thing when people try to nitpick things to death. "If you're just there for the action and sit back for the ride it's a good movie." That's how I felt about the 4th Indiana Jones movie, too.
nah even when you turn your brain off this movie was horrendous
I enjoy this movie a little bit but my problem is they stray away form the egyptian theme cause I think they could make another mummy base on so many egyptain ruler or tyrant as a mummy
I haven't seen this one in a long time and I agree with I like tomb of the dragon Emperor like you said not the most enjoyable one out of the trilogy but still like.
I do like this one when I'm watching it but it's one I never purposefully watch ... if that makes sense. Haha.
I hope you do The Scorpion King movie as well. It's a side story to give the back story of the Scorpion King. It's cheesy and a bit like this movie but I really enjoyed it!

Over all, this movie isn’t bad. Yes, it has a lot of loup holes, but the previous two had them to. The three main problems are: 1) no Egypt, 2) no Immhotep, 3) none of main characters felt same as they were before. I barely even recognize who they were

Wait for the first time ever I'm now wondering if that witches daughter is the daughter of the man that was killed by horses at the start. They were romantic before he was caught by the emperor but that doesn't explain how she's still young and not aged. Someone explain to me please, I've seen this film loads but never thought about that before

i enjoyed all three of the mummy films i pick them over the remake of the mummy with tom cruise not that film was not good , i heard rumors that they are reviving a 4th film with Brendan Fraser coming back as Rick O'Connell i hope it happens to me that is a good idea

The only thing that I dislike about this movie is the re-casting of the actress playing Evelyn. The original pair had so much more chemistry, and they actually looked like they enjoyed working together; in this one it just seems like she's there only for the money, and I couldn't care less about any romantic involvement.
You should react to Threads (1984).
I loved this one and as you say its best to watch it as a standalone. The bomb dropped out of the plane is not that far fetched up until the end of WW1 bombs were dropped by hand out of a plane and aimed by the naked eye. It wasnt until the end of the war that bombsights had been developed.
But didn't they just target general areas... not moving targets? I dunno. Just feel like that's 1 out of 1000 chance to pull off. Haha. But I dunno. :)

My main issue with this film is the lack of chemistry between Rick and Evey with the new actress

I usually like the later movies for series’s but this one is soooo bad I think this is the only movie I hated from a movie series where I loved the first couple
Not the best in the series, to some the worse of the 3, but still fun. The recast is what destroyed this franchise imo
