I have an old Sony tv that my dad bought back in 2008 2009 but it has two hdmi connections in the back. I was trying to hook up my apple hdmi connection from my phone to the tv. At first i got the “no signal message” then i followed the instructions in this video. Afterwards the same thing happened so i used a different hdmi cable then i got the “unsupported signal” message and before i gave up i used the first HDMI cable again and it worked! Not sure if it was the dusty hdmi ports causing the problem but this video did help along with some tinkering.

Thank you! I was thinking streaming videos, connecting to my consoles, and can't look at my TV info were all too weird to be an actual replaceable issue. Software is weird. Turn it off and on again with extra steps.

If anyone is struggling to get HDMI signal out to their 4K tv. Try plugging in a regular computer monitor. That's what worked for me. Also enable picture by picture for some Sony 4K TVs.

I have a normal HDMI cable and doesnt work on a Sony Bravia TV. Do I need to buy a Sony HDMI cable then?
Why does it do that tho? Is there a bug with software or something? mine did the same bravia 50 inch 4k tv turning it off by the wall worked only happens with hdmi 4 4k, works ok on hdmi 3 arc.

Nothing worked. I didn't want to go as far as factory reset, though. Could lightning have done something? We had a huge storm last night. But, the TV was off.
Blow air in port to remove dust & spray WD 40. Then clean port by soft cloth gently. Be sure that tv is unplugged during this work. Best luck.

i think there is internal problem in the tv maybe the major error is in the motherboard in the tv u need to take tv to repair shop the ic chip is damaged
I have a Hisense tv and my cec is turned off ,cannot find a solution here,all TV's here have ARC .

This fixed it until I tried to swap my input to my Xbox hdmi. I've tried 3 different chords one brand new out of the box with a ps5 . None of them will work. It says it's on PlayStation but no signal. Did the hard reset it worked til I swapped input swapped back and it was offa

Time for a new TV folks....... If you bought it new in 2015 when it came out it's lasted 9 years! Time to upgrade. Ps I won't buy another sony tv again thing was flawed from day 1 so slow to react at times constantly re-starting issues every month with sync controls.

I love my x90k and 120 hz and looks awesome but after a year I got a single tiny dead pixel and the hdmi constantly lost its hdmi connection.
I have been using it for 12 years with 0 problems

@@Sam-shortsz After updating the software on my Bravia tv as requested by the TV itself, the HDMI inputs were not showing up on screen. As instructed at the beginning of this video, I unplugged everything, then I pushed and held down the power button on the tv proper for 30 seconds. After a few minutes I plugged everything back in and the problem was solved. I still had to re-link my tv's remote to my external streaming device, but that didn't take long and was easy.
