I have a Tandorio GMT titanium watch with a seiko NH34 movement. For the price, it's a very good watch and I never had a problem with it. I have quite a few Seiko, Citizen, Seagul, and casio watches costing a heck of a lot more than a Tandorio. Are they a heck of a lot better? Probably not.
When you started this video, I honestly was like "No, you shouldn't judge a watch based solely on a brand name," but then as you went down the list, I too remembered I have a really hard time getting behind a watch with lettering on the dial that looks like the designer fell asleep on the keyboard. So I take it back; agree with you 100%.

I bought a Tandorio during the 11.11 sale. Mainly because they had a shell dial that I thought looked really nice. And Phylida makes a TinTin Speedy homage with the ST19 movement in it for under $200. Where else can you find that?
I only own one on that list. Phylida made the "No Time To Die" homage I liked best so I went with that one and the name wasn't much of an issue for me (though I see the point you're making). I just can never bring myself to go with an unbranded sterile dial even when it's available. The rest of the list were indeed pretty bizarre. Great video!
I picked up a Mysterious Code watch and will say that they are amazing for the money and even if they charged more, the case back on mine was indexed so the engraving matched and using the mecha quarts as a 3 hand to give an automatic look was genius. Have been asked what it was and made it a bit of a joke and they laughed. Really would recommend looking at them
Actually, I kind of like that silly name. Many of their watches are pretty distinctive and they kind of have a cartoon secret agent vibe (in my opinion, anyway)
I've actually reviewed watches from quite a few of these brands... Including Pagrne 😆 I did however draw the line at Feel Never as well. You might be glad to hear that when it comes RMALTI at least, they have listened to the comments about the name and have now changed it to RIMALTI instead. That Mamba Out bit had me stitches 🤣🤣🤣
I cannot find any Rimalti watch anywhere, just Rmalti. The watches look fantastic, but the name is a bummer of the first order. Not sure Rimalti, a faux Italian name vaguely reminiscent of crowded beach resorts with too many Russian tourists makes me want one.
@@jjakiefte2165 Just buy a sterile dial model. My father and I bought two sterile mm200 and they really are amazing even without logo (he bought the aventurine and I bought the heat treated purple meteorite one)
I'm wearing my Phylida Planet Ocean Special Edition. I love it. Suits my 8 inch wrist perfectly. Sapphire, solid end links, color matched date at the 3, 500m WR, BG9 lume lasts all night. 100 quid. Unparalleled. I'd wear it if it said "Festering Wound" on the dial.
Worth noting that Rdunae does make sterile dial versions of their watches. It's also the only one on this list that I've owned and gotta say it's pretty impressive for the value.
Agree. I've a R3 Seahorse and it's a fantastic watch for the money. Real sapphire, impeccable finish of the case and great lume that lasts for long. Rdunae is also very honest in advising that, if you choose the version with the orange lume ring on the dial (that I did, because that ring has only an aesthetic function) the brightness of the lume is going to last less than in the other versions, due to the composition of the material.
Just got my Phylida Aqua Terra 15000 Gauss homage today. Beautiful watch, great finishing, N35A movement. Maybe worth taking a second look at regardless of the Phylida name. I'm no expert, just a novice collector/enthusiast, but I'm pretty impressed with this one.
Got my Tandorio 62mas on today, it's pretty great. Pt5000 and it was like £60. It does have the brand on the dial but it's so small you can't read it anyway!

One unique watch I would like to see a review of is the Phylida Speedmaster homage with the ST19 movement. I've not found an alternative from another brand.
Your most entertaining video yet! This channel is rapidly becoming the Top Gear of watches. Funny, beautifully delivered and well- informed. Why are you not on the telly?! X
The omission of Phylida is a shame. I've had experiences with Pagani, Corgeut, and of course Phylida, and the latter was far and away the best. Phylida almost always offers a no logo version of their watches as well.
@@fark69 Yes, but Jody doesn't keep most of the watches he buys. He can always include his detestation for the brand name in his review. I just think it's a shame Phylida isn't given the full Jody treatment, for those who don't mind the logo or its sterile counterpart, and for the channel more broadly. Its absence from the channel is quite conspicuous, given the brand's prominence on AliExpress. For the record, "Phylida" is also a dealbreaker for me. I own several (of the same) Phylida Pilot watches, none of them with a logo. The 3 subdials and date-day window help fill the void quite nicely. Perhaps Jody will change his mind and do a "I bought a watch I said I would NEVER buy!"...kind of video.
Hello, Jody! The one of these about which I disagree with your take is Mysterious Code. I find it silly - ridiculous, even - but in a way that amuses me and I think would make me smile whenever I looked down at it. In fact, if ever I do buy one, it will be as much for the silly name as for the watch! ✌️❤️⌚
Jody! I fractured five ribs on Sunday evening playing ice hockey. Stop making me laugh! I cannot unsee you in the wig! You are literally causing me to split my ribs!
I never expected to see Jody wearing makeup and a wig! I guess you'll never review a WWOOR watch then? I picked up their PRX homage for 20 USD! It's a bargain for the built quality you get. And yes, I'll come up of a way when somebody asks, "what watch are you wearing?" LOL!
LOL In all honesty, Tandorio watches are a step up in quality from Pagani. I got my brother the Tandorio 62MAS homage with the PT5000 movement and he loves it 🤣 But, yes I too draw the line on a watch that sounds like an embarrassing disease. 🤣
There was the Phylida i purchased, and priced a bit better than a pd, and similar brands. I selected a sterile dial, not for any reaction to branding, rather by default settings on the page. There was 'kivo', amongst those listed and not, and just too something for me. Agree, branding can make difference.
I'm not going to lie, when Jody came on the screen in drag I had a mouth full of coffee and nearly spat it all over the livingroom! I laughed so hard, mate massive respect for the joke it was spectacular. I bet your wife woundered what on Earth you were doing? Also I know what you mean, I looked on Ali and genuinely perplexed by the odd names of the watch brands... I have two Addiesdive watches, which is Steeldive, which is anything they want to call them? I wouldn't be surprised if there was a brand called 'Knight of Times Past'?
Mysterious Code kept popping up when I started looking to add a titanium watch to the collection. Needless to say, I held out until finally picking up a Tactical Frog (though I'm not sure that name is markedly better).
I think Octopus Kraken, Mysterious Code and Tactical Frog are good funny names for watches brands... Originals and creative... Also they are easy to remember...
Well, I'm in the US so "having a curry" as much of a thing and Tandorio can at least be pronounced. I bought one almost by accident as they had built a watch with the pink pig dial that my wife finds adorable. That could have been a one-time experience but their customer service after the sale has been exemplary. They helped me find the exact bezel insert for that watch when it needed to be replaced and went above and beyond helping me find other bezel inserts. I'll definitely keep shopping with them.
I’m right there with you Jody. Especially when you can buy an identical watch with a better name. Another one for me that gets a lot of love but something I could never buy, a Tactical Frog. Maybe there’s a deeper meaning that I’m just missing, but it’s just silly.
I own 2 of the PHYLIDA Speedmaster homages, a standard and a “tin tin”. They’re great pieces, keep time surprisingly more accurately than I imagined, and look rather sharp on bracelet or rally strap. I guess I’ve been pronouncing it wrong for quite some time, now that I hear it out loud in this video. I’ve always pronounced it “Flee-Dah” 😂😂😂
Here in Denmark "tand" means "tooth". So here It would be a fine name for a toothpaste! Sorry to admit I have bought one myself recently. It is actually very high quality!😄🕒
After knowing Jody for a few years he reveals another of his facets, the academic Dr Jody (wonderful video BTW) and now, Jody reveals yet another facet! And what a gem she is! Will she return I wonder? And what other facets are yet to sparkle through??
Hey, I'm with you on most of these, but I tell you that you're missing out on the Octopus Kraken watch. Sure, the name's a little weird, but not Mysterious Code or Tactical Frog levels of weird. Some of them just say Octopus. Their branding is way better than most Chinese watches, with a modern fonts and logo. But best of all they have EXTREMELY well-finished watches, rivaling San Martin in my opinion. Their NTTD Seamaster homage and their Fifty Fathoms homage both have pride of place in my collection and are both easily in my top five. I'd highly recommend that you swallow your ill feelings and try one out. I think you'll be impressed with the fit and finish. I think you'd find the Fifty-Fathoms too big for your tastes, but once you see that fire-black face in person, and feel the extremely satisfying bevel action, I think your mind will be changed about them.
I agree 100% regarding brand names. I find it odd that brands who want to sell internationally don't spend a few minutes speaking with a native English, French, Italian, etc., speaker before launching a brand.
Funny enough I just picked up a Tandorio during the 11.11 sale. Bronze field watch that looks a lot like a Khaki Field Mech, but with a NH35A. That said, I did go with the sterile dial option though...and now I know I actually like bronze watches.
I can't talk about Tandorio whole watches, but I've used a couple of their Unimatic style cases for builds and man, thy're pretty good! BTW female Jody is scary 😂
She looks a bit like him -maybe it's his sister? I've got a Tandorio and wear it a lot. They have a sterile dile option when you buy it. I opted for the branded version because I like the logo and also like curry.
Hey Jody. Love love love your videos! One thing I would love to see in 2023 is a review of a watch by WMT watches. (I swear I don’t work for them). I love the look of the watches (lots of fauxtina here) but I don’t know about the quality… thanks! Have a happy holiday!
I own a Rdunae that uses a symbol only logo. Stylized R,D,A all atop each other. Looks sharp for a 6105-8000 tribute to me. Would very much br a misstep to print that name fully out on a dial though. Mimi Bobeck vibes from Lady Jomw drag. Did The Drew Carey Show make it to Scotland or Oz?
Yeah it's an unoriginal design and the name is awkward but it's so damn good. I sold off big brand watches because the Rdunae almost never leaves my wrist.
Well, it's not the watch names that will give me nightmares from that video! If ever anyone says "that's a nice watch, what is it?" I'll be having flashbacks 🥺
I'm wearing an octopus while watching this video haha. It's a omega dive master homage and it's excellent! Great bezel action, quality pt 5000 movement. But yeah, shame about the name 📛.
I'm 5.4% of your target market. Yay Canada! Thanks for making my pockets lighter, but saving me from these brands. Ohhhh, will we see the fetching blonde in future videos? Thanks Dark Jody for your 9 minutes of anger.
Well done on a laughter inducing video! Despite its somewhat silly name, I bought a Boderry Voyager...I just couldn't ignore the titanium case, screw-down crown, sapphire crystal, 100M WR, and Seiko movement.
I have a Tandorio. It's a great bronze field watch for under $200, but I bought it with the sterile dial.for that exact reason! It's one of the least cringe-worthy of the names on this list, but I still don't want to see that name/logo every time I look at my wrist!
I’m also a knife collector. This is the same problem in that industry, except way more actual counterfeiting of big brands. I’m all for the China industries that actually make unique and quality products. WE, Civivi, Kizer, etc. all make actually good knives and they are original designs. I’ll NEVER do business through Ali-E or DHgate because they insist on hawking counterfeit copies of Benchmades, Spydercos, and a myriad of other real brands. It’s bad business, and I can’t bring myself to fund them in any way even on unrelated purchases. Screw ‘em.
This is pretty much my position on Ali knives and watches. Something is wrong about them. Green Thorn knives are a prime example… they seem to make great knives for the money, but their XM-18 and Inkosi models have fake makers marks. Maybe I’ll pickup a Slysz Rat clone from them one day. No makers marks, just a plain looking knife. But who knows
Dark Jody, is hilarious Jody 😂. I agree on all points, I also think about what I would say if someone asked why I'm wearing a Phylida, or Rdunae on my wrist, especially when I have other better branded watches in my modest collection. The '80s word, dork, comes to mind.
I have a Rdunae but it just has a neat symbol on the dial not the full name. I have a Mysterious Code but from when they had a German sounding name with ER logo on the dial but Mysterious Code on the inside of the strap. I would never have bought one with Mysterious Code on the dial. Brill video Jody!
Jody…it’s 2 am here in the states. I can’t sleep, so - I tuned in to your channel. Now that I’ve seen you in a wig and makeup..I really really can’t sleep.
I love my Phylida GMT (Omega Seamaster hommage from 1995)but ordered the unbranded sterile dial. Features hit all marks plus a GMT complication and priced under the others.
Jody is accidentally becoming the Gordon Ramsay of watches. Willing to give constructive feedback, can't take the piss, completely capable of being a sweet and funny guy, but really we are here for the rants!!
I think one of the reasons dark Jody resonates with us is that we see so many overwhelmingly positive reviews for video games watches electronics cars... Not all of the media but a lot of the media is really afraid to truly dig their teeth into something nowadays. Dark Jody is refreshing not because he's mean, but because we don't get to see all of this honesty just anywhere anymore.

I own several (of the same) Phylida Pilot watches, none of them with a logo. The 3 subdials and date-day window help fill the void quite nicely. Perhaps Jody will change his mind and do a "I bought a watch I said I would NEVER buy!"...kind of video.
So true I have a Phylida gmt omega homage that’s truly an amazing watch
Hello, Jody!
The one of these about which I disagree with your take is Mysterious Code.
I find it silly - ridiculous, even - but in a way that amuses me and I think would make me smile whenever I looked down at it.
In fact, if ever I do buy one, it will be as much for the silly name as for the watch!
✌️❤️⌚
Shame you won't consider Tandorio, I just got a watch of theirs with a sterile dial and it's legit fantastic for the price!
It would be cool to see a state of the T shirt collection Jody!
I selected a sterile dial,
not for any reaction to branding, rather by default settings on the page. There was 'kivo', amongst those listed
and not, and just too something for me.
6:22 The "nothing" double entendre was *chef's kiss*
Mysterious Code kept popping up when I started looking to add a titanium watch to the collection. Needless to say, I held out until finally picking up a Tactical Frog (though I'm not sure that name is markedly better).
No, Tactical Frog is definitely a better name. It has the massive benefit of being funny.
I think Octopus Kraken, Mysterious Code and Tactical Frog are good funny names for watches brands... Originals and creative... Also they are easy to remember...
Oh crap, I just laughed so much the coffee I was drinking shot out and covered my lap top! Great video Jody, brightened my day!
Thumbs up straight away for Pink Floyd T-shirt.
I really appreciate the brutal honesty as plenty of value on offer online for those willing to do their homework... Great job Jody!
Love mine also nothing wrong with that 👍
My phylida speedy homage is a masterpiece
@@TheBimmer74 yes they are amazing I really think Jodi is missing out by not reviewing them
Absolutely hysterical and brilliant video!
Said exactly the same, great quality and exceptional Seamaster and 50 fathoms homages, surprised they aren't getting more hype tbh.
Hahah very good 👍!! I would add the Tactical Frog that was already reviewed here in the channel, but the name means strange
I've been looking at Tandorio for quite a while without any negative connotation... But I agree on Phylida, sounds like a bacteria 😂
I own 4 Tandorio's and all run great and as well as my Seiko and Citizens.
Well, it's not the watch names that will give me nightmares from that video! If ever anyone says "that's a nice watch, what is it?" I'll be having flashbacks 🥺
Jody, one of your best vids to date mate. Had me in stitches! Keep up the fantastic content 👍
I'm wearing an octopus while watching this video haha. It's a omega dive master homage and it's excellent! Great bezel action, quality pt 5000 movement. But yeah, shame about the name 📛.
She-Jody is terrifying. This maybe my favorite JOMW
That are exactly my thoughts on these brands! Thanks, Jody!
This is standup comedy for the watch connoisseur! Excellent video Jody!!!
Best video I’ve seen this month!!!
More Dark Jody! (Avoid sun burn though brother)
The wig skit Jody 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 I loved it More please! The mamba out KILLED ME🤣🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂💀
Wow that bird was gorgeous....lol 😂. Great job jodie
I bought one which had Einsame Reisende 'ER' on the Ali advertising, and when the watch came, it became Mysterious Code *¡#@=×X?!!
Outstanding service to the watch community, never miss an episode, many thanks !
Love the lipstick Jody! Maxfactor?
Woa, shots fired! Phylida logo and brand name is way better than Pagani Design, IMO
Another great video Jody!
What is a mushroom brand? In relation to the tandorio watch?
Jody…it’s 2 am here in the states. I can’t sleep, so - I tuned in to your channel. Now that I’ve seen you in a wig and makeup..I really really can’t sleep.
Loved the drag 😂 ❤ she should do some reviews 😂
I love my Phylida GMT (Omega Seamaster hommage from 1995)but ordered the unbranded sterile dial. Features hit all marks plus a GMT complication and priced under the others.
In the movie business , a ‘Paganini” is a wooden block used to level the camera tracking rails….😮
Great vid and great thoughts!
Instant classic Jody! I was surprised you had a sister? In town for the holiday's? She looks like a nice person. 😁😁😁😁
Jody is accidentally becoming the Gordon Ramsay of watches. Willing to give constructive feedback, can't take the piss, completely capable of being a sweet and funny guy, but really we are here for the rants!!
HAHAHA that was absolutely hilarious! Great job as always, Jody!
Jody! The Rdunae you flaged on the screen is beautiful and just added to my Ali wishlist. Thanks for the tip!
Don’t bother. I have it and don’t like it, and not just because of the name.
I quite like the name Octopus Kraken especially for a dive watch.
She needs to comeback for more cameos! A star is born!
Oh dear God, the make up! 🤣🤣 Loved the video.
I’m on the fence on which to buy, the Octopus Kraken titanium or the Erebus Origin!
Good old tandoorios.... Curry flavored crisps.... many eons ago when I was just a little lout you could purchase good old tandoorios from the newsagents... along with a quarter pound of wine gums
Holy crap, how did I miss this? Jody in drag is the funniest thing I've seen for quite a while.
I have to give it to parsnpe lol. Not sure if it's the same across different continents but when ordering through Canada you're able to buy the watches with no branding and they also offer S KRP style customs
I love your makeup, Doc! 😉
I have an Octopus Kracken and it wraps around my wrist nicely.
I did buy two Feelnever watches, I do recomend these watches, cheap and big. 👍
This was hilarious. You have a talent for commercial voice-overs ... the Phylida one made me almost spit my coffee!
I have been looking at Tandorios Unimatic homages for a while now. But always the nologo version.
Yea no logo seems the go
