Well Pattymac I learnt two things after watching this. The string method to locate the next screw hole & that you can put screws in without a drill - who knew ! Thank you for taking the time to share.
Wonderful! I just happen to be have 2 of the Skadis boards in my car. I’ve been trying to work up the courage to hang them. Once again, your video is so perfectly timed for me! (Remember me with the repotting houseplants w/o rocks? They are doing fabulous BTW) Much adoration and thanks for sharing!
Sharon Ayers hey Sharon!! Of course I remember!! Glad to see you again!! I did not technically hang this “the right way” but I like my method. And those drywall anchors really are my favorite way to hang on drywall. I think you’ll find it pretty easy, and super empowering to put it together yourself!! ❤️❤️❤️
krochetkelly you’re welcome Kelly!! I have seen people stack several together and use larger boards. My space is small and I like the breathing room of a clear wall so I only did the one. I would like to add a couple more items to this setup and I want to put a small one in my bedroom to organize my vanity. The great thing with these is that it’s so easy to personalize! ❤️
Kathy Tincler thanks Kathy!! I know!! This pegboard looks so neat and clean inside. There are several organizational options available for this setup. I think I’m going to go back for another one to go in my bedroom to organize my vanity. I will film the visit to ikea and show the options available for this collection. ❤️
You are such a pleasure to watch!! Thanks for the video I am hanging one in my craft room tonight! One tip for you is with those anchors- I know cause I use them by the box lol- place your metal bar on the wall, level it, then mark the holes where the screws belong with a pencil. Then place that sharp point of your anchor on that mark and screw the anchor in. Then place your bar back on the wall and screw into the anchor and proceed as usual. Your pegboard looks awesome! Btw, I’m just south of you in NC and I visit Norfolk IKEA at least one a month 🤣
Hey Jackie! What a small world!! I love having IKEA so close. And thanks for the tip on the peg board. Those drywall anchors are the best. I hang everything with them now. I appreciate you watching!
I just subscribed to you love your calm way of explaining things. I have always been scared using those anchors but your explanation has made me brave. The other part of being brave is shopping at bunnings our hardware store in covoid mode! They are very good though with lots of markings in the shop and only 4 people allowed in the aisle.
Jodie!! Thank you for subscribing! I'm really happy to hear you feel confident enough to hang this yourself. I'm sure you can do it. We call those drywall screws, but I don't know what they call them in Australia. You will know what to look for when you go. I find that going first thing in the morning works best. And as long as you are careful you should be fine.
In your other video on your sewing room there was a cute bunny cut out do you have a tutorial on that? Love to see that put together as I've just started to do toys
Coming soon! Thanks for asking Jodie! My hang up on the the softie is drawing it on the computer so people can access a pattern piece. It's more difficult to do than I expected. I'm going to ask a friend of mine who does them how she draws her patterns. In the meantime, you might enjoy this video and pattern ruclips.net/video/bIxbx_d_UYg/видео.html I enjoy this little project, too.
Thank you so much for this detailed tutorial on how to properly hang this onto drywall! :) May I ask how come you didn't use the supplied bracket that it comes with?
The pegboard should be screwed to the wall using the same drywall attachments you are using but the drywall screws go through the larger holes on the white bracket at the back of the pegboard. You attach the bracket to the wall first then you mount the pegboard onto the very secure bracket. I like your simple way of doing the mounting but I hope the pegboard doesn’t flip off the bracket while you are removing a tool to use. There are some excellent RUclips videos on how to hang Skadis. If you find this works without it ever falling off the wall please let me know as your way of hanging is very easy.
I've been using it this way for a year and no problems whatsoever. It has worked really well, and it's much easier to clean because I can take the whole thing down and wash the board itself to get dust off of it. I find that often the unconventional way works as well, or better, than the recommended.
LOL!! That's excellent advice! I huge a VERY heavy bookshelf in a different room and it was a night mare to install. Because I hit a stud and no way I could use a screw driver to install into a stud. So I had to call a neighbor with a drill to help me. So you are 110% correct!
Do you have a peg board in your sewing room?
Great instructions Pattymac. I just purchased this pegboard for my craftroom. Thank you
Wonderful!
Well done you! Thank you for showing me how to install the Skadis peg board. 🎉

You're just a bubble of joy. Thank you for the spirit. From Morocco
You are so kind. Thank you!

That's great Toni! I'm sure you can do it! I do swear by those drywall screws and any hard ware store can help you find them

Such a great explanation and patience. Thanks a lot!
Thank you! I hope it's helpful for you!
Extremely wholesome content
Thank you! I do my best.
Subbed :) Im from Va Beach, moved away in 2003. And from what Ive seen and heard its no longer small beach town anymore! Thanks for the video!
Hi Nadia! Yeah, it's not small anymore. Unfortunately. It's still a great city to live in, and I love it here, but I miss the old Beach for sure!

You're welcome Michael! I think you will like this method of installation! Hope you enjoy your peg board.

Thank you so much for this detailed tutorial on how to properly hang this onto drywall! :) May I ask how come you didn't use the supplied bracket that it comes with?
Thank you for your kind comment! I did use their pieces to hang the pegboard, but I added my own drywall screws so I know it's secure.

Good job I love it
Thank you Pam!
What size is your pegboard?
It's 22x22. They have a kit with all the pieces together.
The only advice I would give is to be SURE that you are not screwing the anchor into a stud. Studs are 18" apart.
LOL!! That's excellent advice! I huge a VERY heavy bookshelf in a different room and it was a night mare to install. Because I hit a stud and no way I could use a screw driver to install into a stud. So I had to call a neighbor with a drill to help me. So you are 110% correct!
Most household studs are 16 inches on center. Measuring from the center of each 2x4.
You installed incorrectly. You are supposed to fix the screws THROUGH the wall mount and then attach the pegboard to the wall mount after.
It works fine for me. It's been up there all this time no problem and it's level. It does what I need and it's secure.
well ackshually
You did good Pattymac!
She said that at the beginning. She has installed it as she wanted to. Honestly give the girl a break. Same goes to Alexa Elliot.
