In this video, I talk about the most important things which you must do after coming to Canada as an International Student.

There is something called “Ontario Photo Card”.
As of right now, it only cost $35 and it becomes your photo ID instantly without going through three different stages of driver license .
If the purposes to get a photo ID, then this is more beneficial option .

It is called SIN (Social Insurance Number).
Look for a bank with a lot of ATM machines and branches near school or workplace or apartment.
Visit college/university career center to see if there are on-campus and off-campus job postings.
Visit temple to build local connections.
Look for part-time jobs online and in person.
If can't find work, volunteer your service to professors or student clubs (build connections).
Customize different styles of CV's for different types of jobs. For formal jobs, include a cover letter.
No rush to buy books until after classes started. Often you can download recent versions for free.
Sign up for student memberships of school chapters of professional orgranizations. It looks good in your resume. If you have time, you can volunteer for a position and serve in the local chapter.
Make friends with seniors in your program and find out which teachers are good and give easy A's.

hii such an informative video but i got a question studying as an international student in Newfoundland province and working at tim hortons while studying for 2 year diploma course do I need to be supervisor at tim or i can just apply for my pr right away after getting pgwp and do not need to show anything related to work experience.
And is it gonna affect the time processing of pr application as applying being a supervisor or just a worker at time hortons as a graduate student in newfoundland

You can't work until your school officially starts; otherwise, you risk getting your PGWP denied.

In 2024, I see the following:
(1) IRCC will make changes to PGWP. Some occupations could have longer PGWP period.
(2) Look out for changes to trades, apprenticeship, and Certificate of Qualification. IRCC is working with schools, trade governing bodies, and trade unions on this.
(3) IRCC plans to diversify international students' country of origins. More scrutiny on student visa applications from Indian students.
(4) List of 82 prioritized occupations will be updated. IRCC Minister Marc Miller said that he prefers trade, construction workers (buildings and houses), and health care workers.
(5) Canada is trying to get rid of 600,000+ undocumented and out-of-status individuals. IRCC will come up with a PR pathway for some of them following a set of criteria. Enforcement may follow for the rest.
(6) By Fall 2024, Trusted School List will be published. Students applying to trusted schools will have expedited service and higher approval rate. Untrusted schools will face more scrutiny and student visa caps.

His only hope for PR is through PNP (Provincial Nominee Program). He should review PNP's and see if there is a PR pathway for his occupation.
