Very informative. Just an added piece of advice. Try to make get you GIC in CIBC or Scotiabank because ICICI and SBI have a very limited locations and the bank timings are very restrictive.

@gursahibji there is one more thing regarding medical coverage, one can also take travel insurance that covers medical expenses for certain period, to cover for such emergencies if need be.

I have a question. Once we land in Canada and accommodation is temporary, and you don't know anyone locally, then in that case which address should, we mention to the bank and also for driving license? Can we mention University address?
