Most of the world is expericing inflation. In USA, it is hard to get PR for Indians. In Austrlia, it is experiencing similar issues as Canada. Australia is in the middle of immigration reform: raising IELTS scores, reducing student working hours to pre-COVID, reducing PGWP years, adding Genuine Student Test, increasing proof of fund, etc. Europe is going through de-industralization as cheap Russian fuel is gone. Their companies are relocating to Asia and USA (with incentives from US government). UK is cutting its immigration targets. It is still struggling from BREXIT. Canada is still open for immigration for people in specific occupations.
Very bad now too many students not enough accommodations or jobs

In th end of the year, if you paid tuition and payroll taxes, you can claim up to 15% of your tuition in the form of tax credit. Your tax retund cannot exceed your income taxes paid. If you didn't paid any taxes, you get $0 back even though you paid tuition in 2023.

You need good justification if you come too early. You can look for part-time jobs but you can't work until your school officially starts.

Do not encourage people to save tax. Tax also goes to old age pension for you. You only won’t get any govt pension when you are old if you tell young generation to save from tax. Also CRA penalises big time for tax evasion. You will have to pay big fine to CRA if you try to save tax and pay back all you owe to CRA.
@@Jordan_offline_ no it is true even if you work on a work permit the earlier you start working you will get full pension when you retire. Plus medicals are from your taxes too. You can check the Indian groups many have got caught by CRA and penalised and had to pay back.

Depends on how you work. If you are an independent contractor, then its a different situation where you can reduce taxes with expenses towards the job or business. But its tricky and you need good accountant who can cook the books to minimize taxes owed.

Unfortunately, mechanical engineer is not a prioritized occupation announced by IRCC in 2023, qualified for STEM category Express Entry draws with lower CRS cutoffs. It is a prioritized occupation in some PNP's, but you have to search for them. Look for "Express Entry rounds of invitations: Category-based selection" and review the 24 prioritized STEM occupations.
Mechanical,civil engineering isn’t on demand in Canada
Engineer requires a 4-yr Bachelor degree in Engineering from university. Civil Eng is a prioritized occupation announced by IRCC in 2023. qualified for STEM category Express Entry draws. The last two STEM draws had CRS cutoffs at 486 and 481 respectively. Mech Eng is not in the prioritized occupations list so it requires very high CRS score for ITA. It belings to general Express Entry draws with CRS cutoffs at 511, 505, 517, 496, 531, 504, 500, 561, and 542. It is very difficult to get above 500 without the help of PNP. Engineers require P.Eng. license from province since they design work products.

Learn German . Come to Germany, it’s 1000 times better than Canada. Learning German takes around 6 months and if you clear B1 certification , the success is yours. Do not waste your time by opting for a country where any Tom , Dick and harry can travel and then students are standing outside the queue. Make your own queue.
