Scotty I become homeless what should I do
Can you please make a video on S-VCM controllers and if they are worth buying? I have a 2019 honda ridgeline and have read a lot of threads on how S-VCM controllers make a huge difference
Hey Scotty,
What would you choose 2023 Mazda CX 5 or 2023 CRV?
Hey Scotty! Thanks for another great video. 1. What year is that Tundra and 2. Would a Lexus GX460 have similar water proofing/ resilience in flooding conditions? Thanks again!
0:00 Toyota RAV4
10:02 Honda CRV
18:37 Toyota Tundra
No thanks - too big and I prefer higher gas mileage. Buy a Corolla!
Thanks
@@sassylady2001 Too small and too expensive! The difference in cost, covers extra gas and maintenance on my classic truck! And I know battery replacement would be $300 max (for a fancy big battery at that!)
Thank you!!!!
Thank you
I liked the spare on the tailgate. It’s out-of-the-way it’s easy to access and it’s full size. You can’t beat that.
The body with the spare on the tailgate was better looking also.
The only problem is that it weighs the tailgate down and there's squeaking when driving.
that spare tire on the back is problematic in time you wear down the back door alignment, I test drove a Honda CRV with a spare tire on the back and light on the dashboard announced it. could be a costly fix. The extra weight wears down the door alignment. OPen and close the back door hundreds of times will do that
I've never needed quick access to a spare ever
@@gang6009 you'll only need it once for you to see the convenience
I love seen the CRV made it to the Scotty approval list 🎉
The "best" vehicle to buy is the one you already have.
💯 Keeping my 2012 9.0 RS Scion xB as long as I can.
Stellantis?
@@oreally8605 2.4 or 1.8?
Unless you have an unreliable vehicle like a land rover
Until someone decides to run a stop sign and totals it
Scotty I really appreciate you making these suv videos, I’m in the search for one right now something used a little older 3rd row, my GTI was paid off and someone totaled it I’m eyeing a few older pilots with around 170k to 190k for around $6k
Hybrid MPG is incredible in city conditions.
Great video Scotty! Love what you do for the community educating the masses.
20:45 looks like the interior starting to rust on the flooded Tundra.
Love me some Scotty. One thing I have learned buy a Toyota and change my oil this man is great. I know nothing about cars can watch him all day. Great Stuff
My '97 Celica st limited 5-spd with 129,000 still gets close to 40 mpg on the highway, it's a sweetie! Of course with the 4.5 feet of NEW snow we just got here, I'm driving the toyota truck, the Celica is parked in the garage for a while..
Hi Scotty! I went with the Highlander (not hybrid) because I wanted the 3rd row seat for grandkids. I love this car. When I first started looking I was looking at the RAV 4, but as stated, I wanted the 3rd row seat. I love this car.
I live in New England and the awd comes in handy. It’s nice to be able to drive through a foot of snow.
Thanks for this video!
Thanks Scott
I have to agree with Scotty on this one. In the long long term they can go a long time before all that happens to a hybrid they tend to be overall more reliable than a full gas but a full gas is more bulletproof because you don’t need to worry about a expensive hybrid battery or generator that’s not on a full gas car. But the main advantage of the hybrids I feel is the electronic cvt. Never knew about early ones having issues maybe that was gen 1 cause gen 2 Prius just keep on going even with that gen having a burning oil issue
I have a Blue 2021 Hybrid Premium XLE Leather Seats love it 🥰
Hey Scotty! Any chance you could do a video on storing a vehicle for the winter?
Put it in your garage.
Have a 2022 RAV4 XSE Prime, and under normal freeway mostly drive to work with air conditioning or heater and radio playing, I get approximately 32 miles on a full charge before the gas engine kicks in.
My goodness Scotty. I got motion sickness watching your videos. 😂You are all over the place when you get around and in the cars.
Can you get someone to follow you?
I love watching your show and your authenticity. In addition, I learn a lot from you!
Keep up the good work.
You’re host with the most!!🔥
I see old CR V s all over the place oldest to around 2007 models still kickin..
Agreed!!! See them all the time 2003+
I had a 2004, that thing never gave me any problems. Bought in 2016, you would’ve thought it was a new car.
Same with accords
I can contest….. my brother has a rav4 ‘22 hybrid, all awd, cloth seats. I was saw for myself, 41.5 miles to the gallon!!! Very very impressive 🎉
Scotty thank you for all your knowledge
Thanks for the education and humor. I'm getting ready for work. I shared this video with Facebook.
Hey scotty I love your videos since I started following you great content 👍
Hi Scory.Long Time Watching your You Tube Videos. Great work. What do you thing about Kia’s Mid SUV’s?
Family member has Highlander Hybrid and loves it. However, the dealership said the batteries would have to be replaced around 7 years at the cost similar to a transmission replacement. You never hear anybody talking about replacing batteries or battery disposal.
been watching scotty for so long.
Fun to leave the sound off & watch Scotty the maestro conducting a symphony. 😂
We have a 2014 Rav4 and we love it. The only thing I don't like is the clock and radio. It's awkward and you can't even read it if it's sunny. That's pretty minor though
You love them Hondas Scotty
I’m keeping my ‘06 Vibe (Toyota matrix) AWD till the wheels fall off. I’ve had it 14 years and it’s the best running car I’ve ever had.
I had an 2005 AWD Toyota Matrix...Great car went through some high water with it due to high tide flooding...no issues. It is like the little car that could.
I have a friend that hs one of those shes a typical hippy chick the vibe has like 320K miles on it last time I replaced the alternator and changed the oil.. I tightend up some loose Valve cover bolts and cleaned up some of the pollution contrl stuff clearing the CEL. its a remarkable car covered in peace stickers and stupid kitten stickers holding the back hatch together. I happened to find a hatch at the junk yard and pulled it for her shes supposed to come over at some time so i can swap it out.
@@konradwright9365 I wanted one of them so bad back then. Had a Sunbird then a Grand Am GT. I could kick myself for not getting it BUT...instead I got a 2007 Camry V6 XLE new that IS STILL running well with 150k miles on it.
I still have my 2003 Pontiac Vibe. Almost 215k. Paid $2500 back in 2016 w/148k from a co worker. I’d like to buy a 03-07 Toyota matrix if I could find one for a reasonable price.
Hi Scotty, Got a 2022 Maverick. Avg 51.3 mpg last summer/fall. Kept it 50 MPH and lower but it got the milage for about 6000 miles.
Love the CR-V
Scotty we need recession car buy tips
I second this!
Hey Scotty I got an issue with a 1994 Chevy s10 4x4 4.3 vortec v6 I got an intermittent rough idle and stalls around 1500 to 2000rpm I check fuel and spark air as well I need help
I was able to purchase a 2015 Honda Accord with 53k miles here in Michigan last week. I really happy with my purchase
What was the price?
@@joshwaldron2234 Price was $16,800. I thought it was a pretty good deal. It only had 2 owners who kept up with the maintenance and has never been in any accidents. We have a lot of snow right now and its been driving really well.
Thanks for this great information. I need a car because the Hyundai I had engine went at 39,000 miles. I wish I found your video before I bought the Hyundai new.
We owns a 2022 RAV4 hybrid. We are getting 46.0 MPG on average. We loved it!
Is not an AWD. It’s a front wheel drive. I forgot to mention this.
You should tell us after a couple years how it holds up
Scotty. talk about the cable corrosion issue in snow belt with the hybrid...that scares us too much to buy one
I was going to purchase one of these until I saw all of the Cablegate issues with the MGR connector on the HV cable. Class action lawsuit in Canada for it. Toyota is saying it's not part of the hybrid components so some people are paying large amounts out of pocket to replace the cable on vehicles only a couple years old. They tried to "fix" it by opening the connector allowing the moisture/debris to fall or drain out but really that's not a solution.
I just bought a Toyota Highlander and love it !! TIP, put seat cover in your car/truck and your seats will last so much longer !
Wow! What a tip!!! You mean covering something makes it last longer??? Whoda thunk it?? 🤨🙄🤣
@@vincedibona4687 I know it sounds funny but most people don't !
Can I use the old thick plastic cover from grandma's couch.;)
@@scottcarter3392 sure if you want. LOL !
Two words about the rav4 hybrid - Cable Gate!!!
Scotty, what about the 2022 Honda HRV awd sport? My wife and I just bought one.
Yes Scotty! I love my Toyota Tundra crewmax limited with an V8 engine 💪 on my way to the million miles Tundra club ❤
My 07 Toyota Yaris, still working.
Thank God the suspension is better. The suspension in my 13 Rav is horrible.
Scotty do a review on a 2nd gen Sequoia
It's less to go wrong in over 100k miles because with a regular internal combustion engine and rear wheel drive which is what I prefer.
My 2022 Toyota rav4 hybrid average 44mpg to 52mpg driving in Asheville nc.
How did he get the Tundra titled & insured being a salvaged car?
Nice I just bought one of these 22 RAV4's. Same color but mine's the regular gas version. Getting over 30mpg average.
What are your thoughts about a infiniti qx80?
At least it comes with one
I get that mileage in my regular gas model AWD XLE. LOVE THIS WHIP
My 2015 tacoma SR 2.7L 4x2 will be able to tough out the market crash or anything.
I went for a Camry hybrid (10 years ago) over the Rav and never looked back. Much more comfortable, and with better gas mileage. Unless you really need awd, 90% of people don't, a sedan works just fine.
Hey Scotty when you accelerate with that Honda SUV it sounds like a Maytag washing machine with a full load on
Thank you for sharing your knowledge Scotty! Good morning from Scotland
Must be 5am in Scotland
@@oreally8605 username checks out
Say hello to Jackie Stewart.
@@BigEightiesNewWave haha, I think he lives in Monaco
Yea film when neighbor is cutting the grass, great idea 💡
Or did the neighbor start mowing, after Scotty started filming? That's the question of the day. 😲😲😲
Are they using NMhi batteries in the RAV4, or lithium?
When was this recorded?
My first car was a 2014 Toyota Prius C (called the Aqua overseas) and I loved that thing, phenomenal mileage: high 40s-low 50s MPG!
In Fall 2019 I upgraded to the 2020 RAV4 Hybrid for more space, also a fantastic vehicle and can confirm I got almost 40 MPG regularly.
Lastly, last month I traded in for a Tacoma since I’m not commuting far at all am enjoying it despite the gas guzzling!
I did love both my hybrids and would consider one again in the future if the Tacoma ever goes (yeah right!)
One things for sure: it won’t be something that isn’t a Toyota.
Which of the older model SUV's are good. Something from 2015-2017. I'm thinking CX-5 cuz it's cheaper but people say it has a lot of problems
Partially due to market conditions, I sold my Prius Prime and got myself a high mileage Toyota Corolla with a nearly PERFECT CarFax. I don't drive enough to justify the plugin hybrid, and I'm gonna save a lot on car taxes and insurance. Bought it with cold hard cash. I miss the safety tech and CarPlay, but mounting my phone and, uh... paying attention to the road, is a good substitute.
I feel like I shutoff do the same... but I LOVE all the new tech in newer cars
Car fax don't mean squat
Scotty please talk about family minivans…Honda or Toyota?
I prefer the cool look of the tire on the back of the rav4 lol, also so you can’t get a completely non hybrid before?
Can you flat tow a RAV4 (non hybrid) behind an Class A motorhome?
If you buy a used hybrid model and the generator and battery fails - you still have the gas engine - so do you really have to fix the generator, etc. (does the generator also substitute for an alternator?
@scotty: WOULD YOU BUY THE 2023 SEQUOIA ?
My crv 2010- ended up being a pos - burning oil and a shrapnel laden airbag- I did trade it in for a good sum on a pilot- no interest in another one- nice ride for 2-3 years then turns to rattle trap car
Hey scotty i got a 2015 buick lacrosse awd with the 3.6 motor with 138k on it i don't drive it in the winter change the oil every 3k miles cause i drive my 2008 chevy trailblazer 4x4 will that hurt car letting it sit
Can you do a video for a Hyundai Elantra n have a Kia k5 was looking to trade it in for it
Best car i ever had: 2005 Toyota Corolla S. Even then the cpu broke under warranty
Thank you for the video
this particular rav4 head unit feels like a compromise out of this world, what is that for a non-intergrated front on the stereo
Nice video Scotty, I don't believe Hybrid's have a generator, correct me if I'm wrong.
Do the 2022 Rav4 have the eCVT transmissions?
Aren't the ECVT's different than the plain CVT's?
I love the New RAV4's :>
We're on the same page Scotty, when it comes to popes man.
That freaking Toyota Tundra wasn't a steal it was a movie worthy bank heist!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Love your videos, Scotty! I do have a question for you: My 2007 Pontiac Vibe (bought used 3 years ago) just got t-boned and needs to be replaced. The prices on comparable cars are now triple what I paid. This was our favorite car, and we'd love to get another but they are few and far between with (like everything else) elevated prices. We are on a super tight budget. Anything else older/cheaper/reliable that you'd recommend I shop for in addition to the Pontiac Vibe?
Scotty would tell you to look at older Corolla’s, civics, accords, crvs, some Nissan suvs. Take a look around Scotty’s channel and specifically look up specific cars you like. Most likely Scotty has a video on it
@@noahfrye4583 still looking in my neighborhood for older matrix. Going to be our first car though....
Any better suggestion?
Bought a Infiniti fx35 for 4500$ drove 3000 miles problem free. Made in Japan
Scott will refer you only to Japanese cars, nothing else.
I prefer rear wheel drive myself and combustion engine.
I love Hondas having bought 3 of them. Soon going to be retiring the 05 Odyssey and looking at a cute ute. At this point I would have to go with the RAV4 sad to say. I was very disappointed when Honda jumped on the turbo bandwagon. I don't believe the cost complexity and longevity make the 1.4 turbo a better option than a 2.0. Advantage Toyota.
Gotta love their performance, but you pay big up front and the systems are super complex and - I imagine - tough/expensive to work on.
With the power and fuel economy, in for $35 thousand? Might as well go all-in and get something more substantial. Made a lot of long trips back and forth over the Continental Divide, and if you're planning on living in the thing, you'll find yourself wishing you had more cargo room.
Honda CR-V in the US market is now a 1,5 litre petrol front wheel drive.!? Sensible.
I’d like a drive of the Pilot vehicle for interior size.
Scotty hey I like to get that fuel cleaner where were you exactly get that and the address for you to order it from
Scotty please how can I solve the vsc that is showing on my Lexus Rx 330 2003 model.
It started showing recently and it disappears, the check engine light will disappear together with it, please tell me what to do.
Check your coil packs, it might be misfiring.
My Lexus IS had the same symptoms. Do you have full power?
Looking for a good, trustworthy mechanic in or around Fall River Ma or RI. Seems to be a rare breed nowadays. Any suggestions?
Switch on the Image Stability! Barf-o-vision.
I'ma try to get a Honda CRV in the future. Be great if I can get it brand new, but used with a couple of 10k miles would be great too.
As a musician, that'd be a great vehicle. I toured with an artist and her boyfriend had an old manual CRV. The guy drove from Missouri, Georgia, Wisconsin, Tennessee, Florida...and the vehicle just keeps going...
Drove the none hybrid version, not enough power, even u floor the gas, it screams, but not going
Tell me more about turbo
Historically the hybrids have been more reliable even with 2a fre.. hybrids being more popular proves that the people who buy these are smart; they even know hybrids is the safer choice.
Hi Scotty I have a question about Rams I’ve heard you talk about ram 1500s and 3500s but what about the ram 2500s it it reliable or junk like all rams
I am getting the 2018 rav4
I plan to buy a 1994 Toyota Celica
Are these tendras have 4.6 or 5.7 engines?
3 autos with a Crapomatic. Maybe do a video for those that want a manual transmission.
I doubt they make them for USA
Sunday Night Scotty!!!!!
