At this point, anyone pirating games will have a better experience than those that paid for them. EA is one of the worst. That's why I didn't buy the ME legendary edition.
EA recently removed three games from my library. No reason given, no help from customer support. Every time I think they can't possibly get worse, somehow they do. My god I hate them.

The seamless experience of passing save files between Deck/PC/Link makes buying games feel like the better deal than piracy. I basically use piracy in place of a demo for games that don’t have one. But the moment I’m starting to feel invested, I don’t want to risk losing my progress. Companies like Epic complain that Valve is a monopoly and any piracy of their exclusives is a lost sale, while not realizing that they aren’t competing with Valve, so much as they are competing with free games. Steam makes the purchase worthwhile through reliability and support.
In regard to the setup for Forza Horizon 4 on the Deck, I downloaded and installed it after you had posted that video going through the setup process. I tried launching it without altering anything and it didn’t work. After going through the steps you laid out, it launched perfectly fine and runs great.
I am on the road. Add a truck driver. I bought the game and haven't got home to download it yet. Do I have to I just had it up or is it gonna work automatically?I should be home this weekend
@@DeckReady in my testing the worse part about frame gen in the SD is that uses more computational resourses and power when on. so yeah you can play ghost of tsusi at 800p FSR balance with 70 fps + but at 22 freaking watts.
Thanks for speaking out against launchers. I am going on a trip to portual tomorrow and since i heard, max payne 3 runs great on the deck, i wanted to play it on the flight. That was until i started it an hour ago and saw the freaking launcher... These things a a plague.
I hate Denuvo for the their online checks. Not the the performance thing. No, I get pissed that I paid full price for a game. Only to be told I have to periodically ask permission to play the game. Otherwise it’ll literally shut down and demand that I connect to the internet.
But I agree, the main issue is that games are delivered intentionally broken and periodically require reaching out to an online service to unfsck thenselves. I can tolerate technical difficulties due to bugs, but not due to deliberate and malicious anti-features working exactly as designed. They consider it acceptable to inflict issues onto paying customers in the name of coercing additional sales out of a segment of their users. Anyone showing discontent is quickly labeled a "pirate" and dismissed, too. It's an unbelievable show of contempt towards their users and I won't stand for it.
Or in elden ring game files you can create an empty file called DLC.bdt and the game will recognize this as the dlc of the game and the online will work
EA and Ubisoft are the reason I do not buy games at all from any store front they publish to. I think we need laws that say if you publish your game outside of your own store that you DO NOT BUNDLE IT WITH YOUR TRASH STORE FRONT. It's already on a store outside your own, we don't need to have two when I didn't even buy if from the one they have. Especially for single player only games. I also think DRM should not be a thing as well. Look I get they want to protect the games they publish on launch but after a game is out for like a year or 2 or when they have made money and they start to go on sale all the time then that means they do not care about that game any more to need to have it and there should be laws where they patch them out completely after so long. No one is out pirating when you see a game go on sale but when I do see sales and also see the tab on the page that says it has DRM I still will not buy it. It just saved me money to say no when I see it and that money can go to maybe a few damn good indie games.
For now, that's the gameplan. No purchase if it's bundled with a launcher. Let's hope that at least one very rich kid of the senate files a law about these bs launchers.
Battlefield 4 runs flawless! Couldn’t believe it, you do need to map some buttons like reload. And maybe some tuning of the joysticks but it felt fantastic! Also state of decay full 60 fps with medium setting s
On my desktop PC frame generation saved Microsoft Flight Simulator FPS and stopped all stutters. On my Steam Deck it destroyed my Ghost Of Tsushima completely. It stopped working (only shows black screen when you launch the game) but started working after turning off steam cloud which made it possible to get to the main menus and disable frame generation from the options.
If I remember correctly, if you set Steam to Offline Mode while still connected to the Internet, EA launcher games will give you the EA Launcher Sign In, and if you sign in there, you should be able to launch the EA game without being online in the future. A weird roundabout solution, I know.
the steam decks OLED screen looks amazing, i wanted to do a test on multi versus so i had my mother get on her ps4 and i got on the steam deck and played some matches with her and the screen on the steam deck blew her 800 dollar 10 year old samsung TV out of the water, her TV colors were so dry compared to the popping OLED screen. only issue i had was i could not accept invites from her but she had invite from me pop up, so in other words i could not join here lobby because there was no invites displayed. not to mention later on there was major input lag and we kept getting disconnected but ima assume thats multi versus fault because i can play solo without lag on high settings but not with other people after awhile it always seems to be the pattern with that game.
I took a road trip and could only play Elden Ring on my Steam Deck because some of the games I wanted to play was either RDR2 (Rockstar Launcher didn't work) or any EA racing game.
I really want to support these games as I have started to buy games that I have pirated when I was a kid. Guess I will have to hold till they rid off these launchers.

I’ve been playing some thing that I don’t think anybody else plays. I have been playing salt. Yes, the word salt if you’re a horror fan of the unknown cosmic horror you know it’s a quick burn sometime game.
Frame generation makes latency worse, if someone wants the lowest latency possible, it's the worst thing you can use, it's not an "fps increase", it's a "framerate smoother", it's really only useful if you already have really high framerate but want to smooth it out, which can easily be argued that it kind of defeats the point, if you already have high FPS then extra FPS isn't really going to doo much, but if your aim is low latency it ruins it as the "doubled" framerate will have even worse latency than the original FPS. On a device like the steamdeck, it makes almost no sense because of the 60/90 hz screen except for very slow-paced games where latency isn't a concern at all and you just want to smooth out the framerate. Also, these are interpolated frames, not "ai" frames, it basically takes two frames next to each other than averages them out to make a third frame and injects it between those two frames.

I locked the framerate at 30 and am playing with mid settings and some on off, I still get dips to 27 on Limgrave. I did, tho, install a mod that implements its own anti alias, disabled AA and SSAO ingame and it seems to work at a steady 30. (If I remove the lock, it varies between 30 to 45)
I've been playing THPS 1+2 and 2D sidescrollers games (Sonic games for the most part) on my steam deck lately (often docked on the TV). I play more demanding games/FPS/RTS etc on PC with MKB , even (beware...heresy incoming) every Halo game from CE to infinite. I can't shoot a damn thing with a controller 😅
I have been playing through steam link and the experiencie is almost like playing natively. I dont get the necessity of using a 3rd party app when the stock option works so well

Did you try Gran Turismo7 with the PSVR2? Absolutely game changer. I wrote a guide on how to get GT4 running stable at 60fps in the Steam Deck, posted it on Reddit. But my special game is Gran Turismo 2, did you know there’s a special fan made edition called A-Spec? It’s pretty good, you should try it. And I have a bunch of racing games recommendations and needs, you’re absolutely right, EA does a lot of racing and their launcher sucks. Dirt Rally 2.0 doesn’t have it, for some reason, and it’s awesome

It is worth it and get the 512gb OLED because if you regret the anti glare which yes, will affect the colors, you're stuck with it. With the 512, you can decide to add an anti glare filter later anyway.
If you have a 4090 why are you playing at 60hz? Why not 120 or 144? Do games really not run at above 60fps with All the graphical settings maxed out on a 4090?
@@DeckReady I've never heard of or seen that before and got my first freesync display years ago, so I googled it and there are a few reddit posts mostly centered around AMD GPUs and those posts are 4+ years old... It was only happening to a small, select few years ago... Locked 60 is so sluggish feeling I can't believe you've continued sticking to it. I'd rather have screen tearing than locked 60, but it's one of those things where if you're used to high refresh, going to locked 60 feels horrible, and if you're used to 60, you don't realize what you're missing.
steam having DRM dont means its perfect, that is why EA put their own drm on top of it, wich isnt perfect either but at least they can say to their stake holders: "we tried" and that is all that matters to then.
The problem is there's no magic you can do to make new games playable, I personally prefer the legion go but yesterday I had to go to the hospital for 6 hours so I brought the deck to play some offline games in case the wifi was bad.

Just go with a Legion Go...much more power to play those Triple A games that the oled is having a hard time to play, and the Ally X is not a major difference, Legion display is amazing and they just fixed it up nice with a major update, way more polished 8.8 display which blows both the deck and Ally away

Yeah, if you're 30 today, you would have been born in '94, meaning you would have been 3 years old when FF7 released on PS1 and objectively would have been too young to have comprehended the story or cultural significance that game had at the time. Same with 1998's Ocarina of Time, Half Life, Metal Gear Solid: you would have been 4 and too young to comprehend the cultural zeitgeist of that era of 90's gaming.

Frame gen does definitely help from my experience thus far in those games. This is all a plus. One thing to note, in some games, you may actually need to use Xess scaler with AMD Frame gen (Forbidden West)

FSR on a handheld like the steam deck is a godsend. I've been playing RE8 on the deck recently, and it runs flawlessly at high settings because of it.

took my steamdeck on a flight to australia. Went to boot RDR2 and saw the rockstar launcher info. I had to refund it on the airplane Wi-Fi.

All the games in my Steam Deck run at 40fps. Battery life is the single most important thing for me. 40fps is good enough.

Test with Aska. It's insane. FSR and everything on low; 16 FPS.

Having a hard time deciding deck oled or ally x. Ahhhh been going back and forth! I feel like deck is getting better. Idk.
The problem is there's no magic you can do to make new games playable, I personally prefer the legion go but yesterday I had to go to the hospital for 6 hours so I brought the deck to play some offline games in case the wifi was bad.

Just go with a Legion Go...much more power to play those Triple A games that the oled is having a hard time to play, and the Ally X is not a major difference, Legion display is amazing and they just fixed it up nice with a major update, way more polished 8.8 display which blows both the deck and Ally away
@@blastu2fool Rog x is a lot better than legion go. Bigger screen doesn’t mean much for me. Rog x 80w battery and powerful machine
@@DeckReady only sucks that I wish deck had was game pass. I have a Xbox x. Maybe deck will eventually get Xbox game pass into their system which will be easy to use. I like the deck where it’s that console feeling where Jump in and play rather than dicking around with windows 11. lol

Yeah, if you're 30 today, you would have been born in '94, meaning you would have been 3 years old when FF7 released on PS1 and objectively would have been too young to have comprehended the story or cultural significance that game had at the time. Same with 1998's Ocarina of Time, Half Life, Metal Gear Solid: you would have been 4 and too young to comprehend the cultural zeitgeist of that era of 90's gaming.

Frame gen does definitely help from my experience thus far in those games. This is all a plus. One thing to note, in some games, you may actually need to use Xess scaler with AMD Frame gen (Forbidden West)
