Hey Sean, what are your thoughts on a multiple niche(ish)channel (Tech, MTB, Watersports ) inside a Travel/Lifestylechannel ? Can you cover this topic in a video ?
I think it sound pretty good for only 30.00 Sean I know after watching your review of the 20.00 Boya microphone I picked up and love it so this just steps it up for only 10.00 more and you get the additional mic seems well worth it for the quality.
Based on the quality i believe it should cost $15. I have heard better mics for $30 and wireless. Lookup Fifine Mics. Great quality for their price point. I use one of their wireless lav mics which cost me $30. However, this is still a great price for the product. It does sound decent. Specially if you don't need wireless.
I’m an AV professional with 20+ years of experience. For the last 3 years I’ve been the TEch Director for a historic theatre. I’ve been wanting to get into creating RUclips content for a while now. Stumbled into your channel a few days ago after researching tech equipment I’d need. My employer had to cancel all events due to COVID-19, but I am working from home. Now the need to engage with our audience via online media has come to the forefront. I just ordered some Boya mics today. After watching hours and hours of video I just couldn’t get over the sound quality when compared to mics that were way more expensive. I am a brand snob so I was looking for the Shure, Audio Technica, etc. professional brands I am so familiar with to also lead in manufacturing great mics that adapt to your smartphone. They are there and they are good, but after several shootout comparison videos I was convinced enough to give the Boya brand a shot. I ordered both the single wired lav and the mini shotgun to have flexibility. Excited to get started creating quality content with my iPhone 11 at an all in budget of just over $130 bucks - 2 mics, tripod, phone to tripod mount and all the necessary audio adapters. Signing up for your RUclips masterclass as well. Thanks for the great content.
VERY helpful and inspiring. My son and I are just starting and are very green. Hearing Heather talk about the beginning awkwardness and difficulty of editing is SO us! Very inspiring to know we are not alone. Also the mics sound REALLY good. As a matter of fact, I'll be heading to Amazon right now to pick up those mics no doubt. Smartphone video may be acceptable for starters creating, but the audio tends to suck. Thanks once again.
“GET STARTED” ... I love this!! People will dislike or like your content but just do what you love and get going. And that’s what I did no matter if I get 2 likes or 15 dislikes. We ALL start somewhere. ✌🏼
Thanks a lot for review. Very useful. I was considering this lav, but I can say from my experience so far, that even a one single omni lav mic placed in the middle, should work for random interview. Even low budget lav mics those days, can have a very decent pro quality. Additionaly, with the current developed softwares, you can easily make an improvement for any sound 🔊 recording. What you usually unable to correct, it's a speaker voice tone and their phonetics 😁
I've had good luck with the Boya M1 mics. They have surprisingly good sound quality especially for the price. I'm using two Boya M1 microphones with a splitter into my Canon for interviews but the dual mic setup is a better value.
The BOYA dual lavaliere microphones did not have the same audio quality of your handheld, however, they are superior in quality to a standard on camera built in microphone. As much as I may prefer the deeper base of your handheld, the BOYA dual lavaliere microphones are a good buy at $30.
Agree. And we should have done a test with just the on camera mic. We were about 10+ feet away from the camera so the audio would be incomprehensible. So the BOYA def. a good budget solution. And I agree - the AVX is far superior - but it's also 10-20x more expensive. 😎
I started watching your videos about a week and a half maybe two weeks ago. I've gone super deep on starting a youtube channel. I now own a Canon Rebel T2I that I got used, a Kit lense, a Blue Yeti USB mic, a very nice tripod, a takstar shotgun mic, and the boya lapel mic. I'm so excited to start up this channel :D A bit nervous, but super excited. Love your videos I watch at least 3 a day haha. Thank you for being such an inspiration and having such awesome content.
Hey there! Great video as always. Just one quick question. So I'm mainly using Osmoaction for filming now and connecting M1DM directly to Osmo might be too complicated and also won't be ideal to have all the cables hanging around when the Osmo IS actual camera to film. So I think having M1DM with my iphone to record the sound easily and freely and have Osmo free to focus on filming videos. What do you think? Thank you for your time and answer in advance!
does it output 2 discrete channels? or does it combine both lavalieres into the output? i'm trying to do an interview with two people and i need to be able to control left and right channels for volume differences. does this give you 2 separate adjustable channels on the output ?
You can hear right away that the reviewed microphones capture more of the background noise. I am really impressed by the handheld microphone you use in the beginning. Which model is that?
Sennheiser AVX -- ruclips.net/video/Bwb35PKx49s/видео.html Which costs like 10-20x more. 😎 That background noise is actually typical of a lavaier style mic.
Both mics seem to be "always on" - but the answer is yes - you could just attach both mic to yourself. This actually looks "normal" because a lot of people will record backup audio so you can see two lavalieron them (Example: Phil DeFranco).
Good review! Great to hear the mic in a real world environment, background noise & all. I was so interested in what she was saying, I forgot I was supposed to be listening to the sound of the mic. Sold!! 😁😁😁
The handheld is definitely cleaner and crisper, and the lavs capture a little bit too much of the room, but you can't beat that price. I'm guessing if you hadn't used the handheld as a reference, most people would be totally satisfied with the quality of the lavs.
Hi - I am just about to cover an Optics/ Outdoors Trade show for my channel and thus I've been researching what microphones to use for interviews etc. - Just wanted to say that I found this and some of your other videos very helpful. Thanks very much. Jason
Thanks Sean. I’m going to BestBuy to see if they have this. I use te R0DE Video Shotgun mix for my videos but need to have one that I can attach to my collar for interviews like you said. Thanks again.
Great review! (As always!) What audio set up would you recommend for a higher budget? I'm a massive Sennheiser fan (gaming/audio headsets), so dont need to be sold on the value of the higher price point. I would love to hear your opinion of the options for creating content with magnificent audio. Thanks for all you do! Christa.
So what imports the left and right as two channels of audio? I need to separate channels. Does it emerge the left and right inputs or are they kept separate
This is awesome I just started doing public interviews and am interested in the mic your using in the beginning. Any recommendations for hand held mics
Sean this video is so brilliant I absolutely love external double mics at $20 the cost you just can't go wrong great for the value I will be purchasing it today I know you haven't seen me on your channel for all week been busy with work anyways keep crushing it and I will continue to watch God bless you
Although fairly new to this world I have learned so much from this channel so thank you 🙏 I do have a few budget mics for different uses, boya m1 being one of them and I was just thinking I don’t have anything to record interviews or Q&A’ direct to the camera at events I run. Boom talk about timing, now I know what I will be getting. I know it has limitations compared to more high end mics. But really for the average viewer can they tell if the recording is on a $30 or $300 mic. You just need decent audio. Seriously the higher priced mics are not 10x the sound quality, in my opinion, making these budget mics great value. Thanks again.
I purchased the boya mic per your suggestion from a previous video. Great little mic. I would like to get one of those little fluffy mic covers for wind for it for when I'm riding my scooter or motorcycle.
The boya sounded a little muddy compared to your handheld. However, if I didn't hear you using the handheld, the boya would have sounded quite acceptable.
Very awesome video today my friend! I enjoyed the tech review! It looks like the BOYA Dual Lavalier mic might be a great purchase for those looking to save on expenses! Thank you for sharing this insight with us today! I always enjoy your vids! Cheers from Boston!!!!
Meh. I didn't really care for the background noise. Of course, I'm used to using Sony ECM 77Bs and Tram Lavalieres, and Sennheiser mics. It's not fair because the ECM77Bs cost over $400 a piece but I'm sorry, I just choose the stuff that works best for the job. Uhmm, and to be honest, I use those mics for professional work, too, so I know I'm not a fair judge. But do you hear the difference between the AVX and the BOYAs? Try listening with headphones because good 'phones are always less forgiving or any audio problems, and you'll hear a HUGE difference. If ya gotta go on the cheap, you can't get better advice than from Think Media, but if you're really ready to get serious and can sell your firstborn, go with the expensive mics. Your audio will really stand out from the pack. (BTW, limited to one Sennheiser ATX mic? Consider having a friend help and use a boom or fishpole, as it's often known. With a little practice, you can do sound like the pros do and leave the lavalieres in the kit.)
It sounds great! The microphone I use was $5 for a pack of three, but I don't have anything for interviews. Actually, something that would allow me to get further away from the other person would be more beneficial for my channel, what would you recommend?
Yes I did punch fear in the face and got started. I'm looking to invest in this particular lav mic for starters and then upgrade. Thanks for this review!
I appreciated and was encouraged by this statement: "Start before you're ready. Punch fear in the face. Punch perfectionism in the face... and get started."
Thanks, this is a good review because most of the time we can actually listen to the microphone and not 5min of boring unboxing and reading of the packaging.
It was good. However, when you transferred back to your other set up with the music, I noticed there had been a lot of white background noise. I think that would be normal, but just something I noticed.
hi..good show........hey, what is the type of microphone you are holding in this interview? it looks a tad expensive...? do you have any recommendations for budget - yet not too ratty - similar types? .. ..ta..
Can you use just one mic (records mono?) and then fill from Left to Right channel (in Premiere) to create stereo sound? Or do you have to use both mics? Can you separate them? And easily connects to a PC? What about a MAC? Thanks tons!

I’m currently using my phone to film until I can afford a camera. I’m in need of better audio. This is something I’m definitely looking into.
Solid microphone! Great video #TeamThink
Thanks Justin - appreciate you!
That Mic is definitely a must, and the price is phenomenal.

I'm liking this product. It keeps the conversation more natural. You don't have to keep moving a handheld mic back and forth...and that price!
The goddamn test itself starts halfway, at 2:22
😭😂😂
I love these interviews since it provides the information in a more casual setting due to the nature of a conversation.
i really want to know if it records everything into a stereo track or one mic goes to L and the other one to R
The King Approves of the Boya mic, sounds great, especially for the price! Might be our next purchase!
TheValueKing 👊🏼⚡️💯
Heather is crushing it! Nice going.
Agree! 😎
Heather has done a great job growing organically. Her growth sounds like it was at a speed (fairly quickly!) she handled very well. High fives!!!

I think the deeper base is super annoying and more tiring to listen to. I noticed that a lot of RUclipsrs prefer more base in the voice sounds.
@@maartenmidden1651
Dynamic mics will naturally deepen the sound as they eliminate a lot of ambient background noise.
Awesome video Sean

Thanks for answering. I saw the Phil DeFranco example and how he just has the two mics next to each other. Doesn’t look dumb!
This channel is just AWESOME I'm a subscriber for a year now and you helped me a lot improving my channel so thank you!!!

Great review! I tried the Purple Panda lav, but it was very (electrically) noisy and sounded awful. Great to see there's more budget lav options!
Just came over from the Zoom mic test, I think this one sounds better than both of the Zoom mics.
WOW that's way better then my mic

There's no separation. You get both microphones on the same track.
@@bidufreeright on time 🤣
@@rellikDet I didn't see the question before. You should have asked me directly 😉

Casey's Garage the cord on this mic is SUPER long! How far away do you want to get?
Think Media my channel focuses on cars, so I need to be able to go from trunk to hood, about twelve feet sometimes
Hey i am using the normal single boya mic. and i never knew they did a dual one too. thanks for the info.
the lavaliers sounded very good :)
I know it's not fair to compare both microphone systems but there is much more background noise from the Boyas than from the handheld mike.
What do you think of Panasonic HC-WXF1K
Vs Sony ax53? Which one should I choose? Do you have a video on Panasonic any chance? Thank you.
Will this work with a lightning to headphone jack single for iPhone 8/X/Xs
How i wish i could have one of those 😭

Hey Think media, how are you guys? Please do a complete review on the Panasonic g7 or G85. Thanks
I bought this mic bcoz of you guys, i will test it today in my new video
Sounds great guys! Good job and thanks for the product suggestion.

What are the pros and cons of a lapel mic vs a shotgun mic?
I appreciated and was encouraged by this statement: "Start before you're ready. Punch fear in the face. Punch perfectionism in the face... and get started."
That audio actually sounded pretty good! Thanks for the recommendation. I just ordered through your affiliate link.
Thanks as always for your up beat tips , Sounded Great
The mic sounds nice and clear. Great video!

This is the mic that i use for my videos. Such great mic for the price. You can get it even cheaper if you bought it from china 😄
Great Video. The sound quality was on point
Not bad for $30. Personally, I'd like to find a lav or lav set that are unidirectional.
That's a good idea I have that microphone it works very good with the Osmos+
Punch fear in the face , straight up BMF
Boya’s mics are really best
Thanks guys, great video, buying the mic as part of my travel kit.
we need any 3rd party camera for these on galaxy s9+ ilke open camera or not

Does it record discrete channels, or just a single stereo mix to a smartphone?
Would like to use these lav mics but my Galaxy Tab S4 only has a headphone socket not a mic input. Any way round this? Great channel you have
Nice Sean bro mic is awesome☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️
hey think media, these items you market, they arent really available do you ahve distributors in other countries like asia?
