DD back in the day I put a 1200 horse Volkswagen motor together using stainless steel hose clamps... To compress the rings to get them in the cylinder sleeves to put the motor together..... You made me think of a long time ago...... love the progress love what you do...... keep up the good work take care yourself junk man do
I like it! I have the same HEI why I love these old chevys. So easy and reliable to work on. I'm glad you stressed about keyed power for the tach. I hooked mine by accident to battery. Chased a slow drain for awhile. Thought it was a weak starter, battery ect. Looking forward to seeing the stripe kit when it's done. Love those old's Chevelles! Thanks for sharing.
Almost all videos on how to install a tach in almost ANY car are made for old cars with ignition coils which has a + and -, why not do it on a modern vehicle which has independent ignition coils for each cylinder and no + or - signs!. Where do you connect the green wire/signal in a modern vehicle?
@@morgankovarik3649 the title is not misleading!!! In 40 years of being an automotive technician the only engines I have ever worked on with a magneto have been motorcycles...
@jcanfixall1585 in my 30+ years of doing service work about half the cars I've worked on don't even have an ignition system and then about 50/50 were coil/mag.
This is what I've been looking for. Simple instructions explained well with good camera angles 👌
Quick, easy and straight to the point. Great instructional video! Car sounds amazing as well. Thank you
The double hose clamp looks a little tachy.
See what ya did there
😭😭
Ba dum dum, tisss.
Simple instructions. Easy to hook up. No bullshit. Good stuff.👍

Very nicely explained and demonstrated!👍

Awesome! Thanks for all the support man. I stoked for the stripes too haha
Great video, straight to the point!
The tip on using the fusebox was helpful, thanks.
Great install and another great video 👍
Nice job! Love the sound of your car too!
Thanks for sharing. All i needed to learn to install mine in my 54 chev 3100. Regards from Puerto Rico.
Super helpful video! I used this to get my tac set up on my 73 Chevelle. The fuse box happened to be the same!
You did a great job on this.
Best explanation on here, thanks!!
Thanks for the video. Gonna get one put in my Bronco
Good video, been looking for a way to install some auxiliary gauges.
Great video, thanks brother!
Nice installation instruction bro ... i am not a fan of classic cars but i Certainly like the sound of the car when testing 😎. Let me rethink
Thank you. Putting on my 68 Monaco 500. 440 magnum
Perfect video thanks man
Thank you great video helpful
Fantastic video and explanation. My only question is, if I do not have an HEI Distributor, where do I connect the green wire? Thanks for the video!!
Cool video man never new how to hook one up.....
Thanks man
Sweet👌thank you so much.
Thanks for the great explanation, but what mufflers do you use? They sound amazing
Like it! Looks like the Sun tach that I had in my 56 Chevy in high school. I like the 8000 RPM max scale. Who in a street car needs 10K RPM?
Yeah I think Bosh bought out sun. I still like their look.
Cool video!!! So are we not able to drill through the steering column?
Thanks for the video
How do I plug them into the fuse box what parts do I need? Wire connecters?
Thank you 🙌🏼
We’re all a bunch of old manual chevy guys without tachometer aren’t we?
Great video. Do you still have the chevelle?
Tach install was smooth , with upgrades every day the Chevell will be good as mew in no time! Has the guy you bought it from seen it lately ?
Yup hes just down the road from me.
How did you connect the green wire to the distributer? Is there a certain type of connecter you need to wire on the end?
I have a question, how can you install one on a 1982 mercedes 240D diesel car not gas.
How do i know wich wire on the distributor to connect it to
Still dont know where i plug the green one on my Ford transit mk2 😅 on the ignition coil or somewhere on the distributor ? Help 😂
Thank u Sir
Tht V8 Sound very nice
Do you have to run a hot wire? Can’t you just use the distributor, and ground?
Liked, shared and commented 🍻🗽🤴🏻 4:46
DDSpeedshop, comin in clutch, fuckin mint 👌

Install rpm meter with dacia spring
How many stitches in the thumb?
Wait was too long so I just taped it up. Chicks dig scares right?
4:41 😊
"Tachy", ha!
Mk1
just make the car louder by removing the muffler or put a louder one on and just listen for when to shift
Trouble shooting......I ran all the wires correctly. Got power. Light comes on. Green wire to the positive coil side. Start the car, nothing. Ideas?😊
Read directions, so you ACTUALLY run all the wires correctly, try green to coil negative...
Mk1 gti
Using two clamps is tacky for the tack .
Looks kind of “tachy” I just caught that👍😂

Which modern vehicle doesn't have a tach nowadays?
@trijohn23 any of the 1992-2005 crown vics .
Those are the ones I'm looking for at least.
Next time to make it cleaner use double sided tape
Zip tie your tach
Looks kinda “Tachy” lol
Why do u have a tach on this car
Your title is very misleading of the video. It says to hook it up to any car. Mine has a magneto.
Read the fncking instructions or Google tach installation with magneto...
@@jcanfixall1585 I was referring to the title.
