- The most famous listing on Airbnb is President Trump's childhood home, where you can stay for $800 a night, but is it worth it? Inside Edition rented the home and it was up to reporter Steven Fabian to find out if the house was as extravagant as the cost would suggest. It's located in the affluent Jamaica Estates neighborhood in Queens, N.Y., a 40-minute drive from Trump Tower in midtown Manhattan. From the outside, the house appears to be in great condition, but once inside, it's another story. #InsideEdition
To everyone saying “it’s an ordinary home” and that they’re overreacting, I respectfully disagree. If I’m paying $800 a night I’d expect the bare minimums, such as hot water, clean sheets, and clean appliances, just like we would expect out of any other hotel or rental.
I do agree with you overall but what I dont agree with is the title calling this home "disgusting", I consider the houses on the show hoarders disgusting
You're missing the point. 800 is just for the association with trumps childhood. You can't compare it to a $800 hotel that has zero sentimental value to trump. That's like saying the $1 million autographed jordan shoes from the 90s arent as comfortable as you'd expect.

I've payed $60 a night for an Airbnb and everything was clean. It's A PRIORITY to at least take the garbage out, clean up, wash the bedding, and make the bed. It's a sanitary issue if you haven't. And then let's add in the fact this is $800 a night. Pathetic and disgusting
I’d clean out my microwave and other appliances, all dishes clean, everything you said of course, even the garbage outside cleaned out. I’m gen z so there’s no excuse for them, and if there is (like handicap or sum) at least make it known it’s not gonna be top-notch, but then lower the price. But in this case that’s not the issue, handicap can’t excuse it

This was his childhood home until he was 4 years old. From 4 on, he lived in the 23 room mansion pictured in Mary Trump's book.
And he doesn't own it someone else is and using the fact that at one time it was trumps childhood home and yet they were smart all backlash of mistakes would be spew at trump.

If you're paying 800 a night, you too would expect a CLEAN house, with utilities that have not been shut off. You're paying for a house, which should include a working kitchen.
Exactly! Honestly, for $800 a night I’d expect a little extra. Sure it’s the “Trump” name and that’s who their hoping to reel in, but $800 a night for a home with no extra amenities (pool, view, gym, etc… ) all you're paying for is the name, it better look good and everything in working order.
Of course, with the amount of bunk beds it probably sleeps 10 which would be a better way to split it. Nonetheless, an absolute rip off.

I have a question, for $800 a night , why is no one going out to check in between guests and stock items and check that everything works? All that means is that the cleaning crew hired to clean the place didn't do their job. The issue with the water, stove & cable box, those should be addressed through AirBnB or the owner as complaints. We've had issues that arose with some AirBnBs we've rented in the past. We just let the owner know & they fixed them immediately. If you don't let the owner know, then they don't know what the fix.
a proper owner would check that all of the above still works before any rental. Takes a couple of seconds to check each thing. But this is obviously catering to the stupidest people in america who dont care about all that and just want to do cult things.

If you go to a hotel would you expect there to be trash half way full, a hair clip from some unknown person, an unmade bed with sheets that the last person slept on, no hot water and on top of that the stove doesn't work so they can't cook. Air B&B runs like a hotel and the house should be spotless and everything in running condition for the next guest to be able to stay there.

Misty Morales my dad had to talk to the people at the desk of a motel we were staying at on a trip, our neighbors were fighting and it sounded very aggressive with lots of banging of doors and we didnt want it to escalate and have someone be harmed more than what was already done. Kind of reminds me of my honeymoon the fridge had beer spill all on the bottom of it the grill was rusted and didn't even light the fireplace was broken so we didn't get to have a fireplace they had an arcade machine that was broken too but most upsetting for me was the fridge with a puddle of beer on the bottom of it I had to end up cleaning it out myself
