Boogie & all, I now have the Kinekt XR (model?, from memory). I LOVE it for soaking up bumps and shocks before they hit an aging spine that’s had a surgery and many pain shots. Love the Kinekt !!! It cost a lot, but works. I don’t hear any squeaks yet despite 248/6’3”. I’d definitely purchase again. Been able to do a lot more OFF the smooth asphalt trails at state park. I go slow and roll on through new territory, see many deer, large water birds, lakes, ponds. Also loving the foldable Aventon Sinch e-bike !! The new gen with low step through design. Pedal assist #2 to ease it over the dirt trails. Bump up to 5 for steep hills. I SO appreciate being able yet to get out in nature almost daily on bike, bundle up, ride down to zero degrees (just no slippery days).

I’m unfortunately large enough to wish I were 200. 6’ 3”. Folding Aventon Sinch e-bike, love it !! I think I’ll blow the big money and get Kinect XL. Sure wish it were $150, seems like it should be manufacturable with profit at that, but what do I know. Awww. The doggies. We always had one or two, in country, could let ‘em out all day long nice days. Only hazard was skunk bewitching hour just before sunset. Get the boobs in !! We learned , we learned. They’ve had some thousands of years to figure out striped kitty, run the other way, but nooooo, they still run right into the cloud of stink. Go figure. Dogs are good at training us. Thanks for the info.

I have the seatpost and just got their suspension stem. The stem takes enough off the edge of the bumps to keep the hand pain I had when riding from returning.

Hey Boogie, good to see you back with a product review. That's the Rolls Royce seat post! I took the old "Tamer" off my mtn. bike, old pogo stick, spring in tube style and used an an adapter sleeve to fit my Lectric XP. Its only got basic preload adjustment screw but takes the harshness out of the ride. Definitely worth it though, I'd think anyone with a hardtail e-bike would appreciate the modification. Enjoy the trail rides!

Hey Chris, it feels good to be riding again! I have been in the market for a new seat post for a while and decided just to go for it. It’s a little pricey but well worth it.

Great review, Boogie. I've been on the fence about getting one of these and needed more homework to see exactly how they work, etc. Perfect video for that. -Tom

Great video. You definitely treated yourself on this one. I didn’t hear you cover this point. The Suntour post can support riders over 190 lbs. They offer two springs you can buy for about $15 as accessories, red spring (180 lbs or more) and blue spring (140 lbs or less). Medium spring is standard.

Good video.Do you think that it’s worth the investment to put on a road bike?Im about your weight maybe heavier. It looked like you ride mainly off road
    Thanks

I just got one for my Specialized Vado. I ride mainly on pavement with some gravel. Originally had a Suntour spring post suspension, which I thought was pretty good compared to straight seat post. But the Kinekt is so much better. They recommended to add 20 pounds for ebike application. I weigh about 180 and came with the 180 spring installed. I experienced a bit of “bobbing “ effect and bottomed occasionally. Changed to the heavier spring included and it’s very smooth and comfortable. It’s a Cadillac ride now for sure. I’d highly recommend. On road or off road.

Great review but curious about the saddle you have on there as well. I picked up an ebike a couple of weeks back and the supplied saddle is incredibly stiff despite looking like a nice gel. Its a Selle Royal LookIN model based on what I can see but its feels somewhat narrow. I'm just cruising down riverbeds and maybe will get to trails like you're riding but wouldn't mind something a bit wider if you can recommend something! Thanks again for the great review.

Cloud 9 makes great seats.. But I think a Suspension Seatpost will give you the best bang if you are riding a hardtail.

Have you found a bike seat yet for big men that you would recommend. I’ve been thinking of trying a Cloud 9 which was recommended but they have too many models. Amazon would shoot me if I ordered 6 to check out

Honestly, I have tried a few different seats. The biggest difference actually came with changing the seat post. The one that I have is pretty pricey but upgrading to a decent one that is out on the market will make a world of difference. Also make sure your seat height is set up properly. That can make a difference as well.
Cloud 9 is a fan favorite. It’s a little too big for my liking but I hear the comfort is outstanding.

Good video! Educational and entraining. Dogs... treat ransom. (LOL) I used this suspension seat post on your bike tour from Pittsburgh to DC (on the GAP and C&O trails) in 2018, and it worked so well, I got one for my wife's bike for our DC to Pittsburgh tour in 2019. Checkout our 2018 bike tour videos on NOC TV.
