Good honest review, thanks. I use my cheap old helmet, 20 years (?) but really should upgrade to more substantial head protection. On my old helmet the foam padding inside and on the brow were crumbing but because they were attached with velcro I was able to replaced them with padded ones made with foam and cloth. I use the old pieces for patterns and cobbled together the new ones with a heat glue gun. The helmet fits better and the cloth brow strip (made from non-woven blanket cloth) is more comfortable than ever. For your brow gutter system I'd try something simple like a strip of Bounty paper towel rolled up and stuffed in the gutter. It can just be discarded when saturated with sweat. It also might allow enough evaporation so you don't get that huge liquid dump. I think the sponge replacement might be better although I'd consider making some out of washable soft fabric, cotton with a foam backing so you'd have a couple replacements for a long hot ride. Happy 4th! Safe riding.
@@BoogieNN I'm nuts refurbishing a 20 year old helmet, my head is still worth protecting with something new and better (I think). For some reason throwing out something useful because of a little repairable cosmetic damage is a sin in my family, call us thrifty Yankees! ha ha!
What’s your thoughts on the BOA system in this helmet? Is it uncomfortable, or is it confining or too tight and restraining to the head causing any potential headaches? PLMK ASAP. Thanks for the video.
On a scale of 1 to 10 I give this helmet a 8. The BOA system is durable as well as comfortable. The issue that I have with this particular helmet only pertains to the knob that you use to tighten it. It is on the small side and can be a little difficult to navigate when wearing gloves. I have not experienced any overtightening that may lead to headaches. I purchased this DRT5 in a large and it fits a little tighter then other brands with the same label.
Thanks buddy! Good luck with your channel, this video truly helped me get more info about the Oakley helmet.
Thank!!!! Glad I could help!
Thanks for the review! Very comprehensive
Happy to help you in making a great decision on your next helmet.

After 20 years getting a new helmet is like cheating.😂😂😂
