      Ya ….that guy could be the next breakout star of the channel….”On the next episode of what do you think Frankie?” I bet the answer would never disappoint…..very beautiful cabin….on the leaves…instead of burning you could compost or just leave it in a pile to break down…kind of a start to developing soil vitality in regenerative agriculture……also, just leaving in a pile for a while is a lot less hassle, unless you have another angry neighbor, than tending a burn pile so you don’t create a brush fire….just a thought…

    Speaking of helping people out. I was awakened this past Sunday morning by someone knocking on my front door at 5:45 AM. I answered the door and this guy says he ran out of gas and asked if I had any. I said sure and lent him my full 5 gallon steel Justrite gas can. He walked down my driveway to his car parked on the side of the road and proceeded to empty the gas can into his car. He opened his hatchback put the can inside and said he would be right back with a fresh full can of gas. Needless to say, he never came back. So i was out not only 5 gallons of gas (Reg gas is $3.99 a gallon here) but a Justrite 5 gallon gas can which are not cheap to replace. Wow, you think you're doing someone a solid then they screw you. Live and learn I suppose.

      I saw a teenager stranded by the road, no petrol. I was near my village so I popped back for my can, grabbed a tow bar just in case it was another problem, filled him up, and got a token few quid off him because at that point he never even offered to pay, but I’m still pretty much giving him free petrol here. Y’know, the word “thanks” never even passed his lips…? 😐 I’m still mad about that ten years later. Got a Grandson who has never thanked me for anything either.

She calls the township and the county (as they are breaking the old stuff out (and she's known we were doing this for months, even trimmed her trees for free to free up space on my side for the excavator two days before that!)) on me for replacing an existing structure without a permit. I do think that you're correct and neighbors should be nice. I clean my neighbors snow, leaves (sidewalks, driveway etc) and do the street areas when they don't have a chance or out of being neighborly. However, this is not common with neighbors or the younger generation. However, the best response would be to avoid your neighbor as much as you can and by doing this he will understand. But don't let your guard down. You will be able to forgive your neighbors, but YOU SHOULD NEVER FORGET. Never give them another opportunity to do something like this. Eventually he may apologize and figure out that it is important to be a good neighbor and get along because we do depend on each other. Being nice was old school thinking and we've become less civil nowadays. We need to get along and understand each other as neighbors. We have more in common than we have differences. Love watching you and what you do and although I don't have the same capabilities or knowledge it is always a learning experience watching your channel.

    I've got a dozen of these stories, and you'd think I learned my lesson. A lot of people don't understand the true meaning of community, reciprocity and building trust. Couple of days ago my wife walks in and says our next-door neighbor asked if she could borrow some of my tools. Without skipping a beat, I said, "eff no". This woman has been nothing but a mean and horrible neighbor. She's unfriendly, and she lets her dog out unleashed as if it was a cat to crap anywhere, he wants. And yes, he's dropped a deuce in my yard several times after I've politely and diplomatically brought it to her attention. The neighbor across the street asks to borrow my ladder for a couple of days and it's been two weeks now and he hasn't returned it. I seem to be to "go to" guy for a lot of people on my street when they need something, or they can't figure out a problem around the house. I'm tired of being taken advantage of and made to feel like an idiot. No mas.

    On a pump system. You need a purge or weep hole in the pipe or check valve from the pump to leachfield so it can drain back to the pump chamber if pitched properly. The pipe sits above other lines in dist. box and has a velocity tee in the box. That way the pipe won't hold water and freeze. Some cases I've seen the septic lines buried with ridged Styrofoam to protect it from frost..I have a few customers on the lake with Airbnb's I pump the septics a few times a year, depending on how much use they get. You need a set of rules .Ive seen Airbnb's have emergencies because they bring in large amounts of people for gatherings. They weren't listed on the paperwork for the rental agreement..I have pamphlets I can leave for airbnb owners on how to take care of the septic and what not to flush. Pamphlets are printed by my state DES agency. They have decals you can put on vanity mirrors also.

    • @JohnDoe-np3zk
      @JohnDoe-np3zk 11 месяцев назад

      Wow I think your hole in the pipe is valid but has nothing to do with freezing. The hole is actually to avoid air lock in the pump from suction of water. It does allow the pipe to drain and this keeps the pump primed and not air locked next time it runs. Now, having made it this far I also added three 1/8 inch holes in the line after the check valve and before my now basically plugged drain field. This allows a good enough flow where the pump will actually get rid of effluent but also drain it there when pump shut off. I made basically a dry well using expanded clay pellets vs trying to repair my clogged drain field.

    You have a lot of equipment to grease.
    Get yourself a cordless grease gun. You'll love how quick and easy it is to use.

    I drove one of those old Mack trucks with a twin stick. Yep, 5 reverse speeds. I could run 50mph in reverse, and did it often, building a new highway. Had nowhere to turn around, so backing up 3/4 of a mile to drop stone it came in handy. Shifted it backwards, just like going forward. Favorite truck I ever drove.

    Hey hey hey stan, hope you guys are doing well n all, ive been so busy, the lawns are coming at me left n right, i am so glad that everything has been going strong. I picked up three more accounts, nothing too big but definitely good money for me. I hope your neighbors get straightened out. He is very daunting to even do that tho you, that is so rude, after such a Nice gesture to him. Also, i think your neighbor should be mindful of no trespassing signs that you will put up. He breaks the signs rule, he gets a warning, he does it again, he goes to jail. I would start now and if he does it, you go him, I’m no lawyer so i would make sure to check up on it. Luckily for myself, my neighbors and i get along very well. Oh and stan, but the end of the eek i will be in the newspaper, it’s something. Positive, don’t worry, it’s actually gonna benefit the town for what I’m fighting for. It is gonna be the catalyst that starts up everything

    Most of my neighbors keep to themselves but I got a new next-door neighbor about a year ago and he's amazing; always eager to help me out, lends me his truck to move material. I help him with whatever I can. Another one of his friends and I just poured a concrete patio off his shed for him a week ago. Neighbors like that are what this country was built on, it's a shame they're so rare.
    I don't know about the air bnb thing, man. I've heard some real nasty stories about the renters or whatever you call them and Air bnb is making it harder to screen the good ones from the bad from everything I've heard.

    That cabin is looking nice. Got a neighbor like that up at our cabin up north. We put down some fresh gravel in the roadway that 6 of the cabins share and one guy on the end didn't want. He ended up taking it up and dumping it; said he didn't want people to see a nice roadway and think they can drive down it. I get it but i was sick of the mud. Needless to say me and 4 of the other cabins said f it and paved it ending at my cabin. None of have talked to him since

Then he started ranting about me running chain saws and a skid steer all day long. I just looked at him and said "I am building a house here. Wait until I move in! Go Home!"
