I had a beautiful 50 yr marriage with a Godly man. When he passed away I told God, "This hurts too much, he was my everything!" And clear as a bell, I heard my Savior's voice say, "No, my child. I AM YOUR EVERYTHING!!" And I fell to my knees & asked forgiveness. I've had good days, & dark days, & when I'm at my weakest, I tell Him, "I don't feel you, but I know you're there." And instantly He makes His presence known. HALLELUJAH!! 🙌✝️🙌
The Lord protected me from getting married to my first girlfriend. We are on good terms and had a good godly relationship, but it became the biggest idol in my life. All my satisfaction and joy and desire came from that relationship. In the midst of it I could not see what the Lord was doing as we broke up twice and I tried getting back together with her a third time, but looking back I see that He lovingly withheld something from me because He cared more about my heart than my selfish desires. The Lord was gracious to discipline me as His son.

I’m in the same boat, we’re trying to reconcile now but she isn’t a believer and i personally have a knot in chest, and stomach anytime I try to feel the way I used to about her, it’s like Mr feelings are so indifferent now o just want us to work but can’t pull myself to put a ring on it or to commit

Even if we are praying together we miss the fact that our hearts are secretly and REALLY putting that person first… I also got a revelation listening to this. We need to be about the Lords business first (Seek the Kingdom first ). He knows the desires of our hearts. While we are working he will bring that partner ( husband or wife to be ) into our lives that will ADD to the work for the kingdom . Remember he sends them out by TWO”S. He will pair us up together being likeminded with a similar work to work together . One heart, mind, in Christ for the Kingdom and His Glory … those who are equally yoked WILL RAISE GODLY SEED to grow and do a work for the Kingdom as well… I wish i knew all this when i was younger. 1 Corinthians 7:13-15 is probably what he is referring to. This scripture is in the case of a believer and a non believer married and the decision to stay or leave. Across the board God hates divorce and frowns on divorce for just any old reason. That's my understanding, I have never gone through it before.

That’s what was the issue with my husband of 26 years. He was always looking at me to make him complete and happy. I was raising and homeschooling four kids. He told me he was going to find someone to make him happy. He surely did that on online dating sites. Found another Christian woman and divorced me to marry her. He’s been remarried since 2016. We now have three of our young adults children who are divorced. He tells our kids his new wife is the one from God. He was too busy looking for someone else to make him “happy.” My kids now tell me they won’t stay in a marriage if they aren’t happy. I try to re-direct them to the Lord. None of the kids are serving the Lord.

I was unequally yoked in my marriage and my husband committed adultery I decided to walk away and file for divorce I have repented for not taking heed to God's word about not marrying outside of my faith in Christ hard and painful lesson learned.

Not everyone is “wired” for marriage. Church culture has made marriage into the supreme pinnacle of human existence, when scripture says no such thing. In fact Paul says he who does not marry does better than he who marries. Look at ALL the positive affirmations of staying single in the seventh chapter of his first letter to the church at Corinth.
You also cannot find ypur fulfillment in ypur pastor. I see soooooo many people in our church who worship the pastor instead of the Lord! It has led to so much division and hurt. And yes, I agree 100% that fulfillment MUST come through the Lord! Joy in marriage only comes when each one seeks first the kingdom of God and His righteousness. Then we can stand together, submitted to our Lord, walking in obedience, and enjoy the blessings that God has given us in our marriage.
One very practical reason most singles I know desire marriage is so they can finally have sex, and it not be considered sin. Or they want to start a family. Or at the very least so they can have a companion and have someone to care for them when they get old.

Wow! I was feeling down because my wife abandoned me and our two kids on July 1, 2023. I was like man this sucks I can’t believe it I fought for our marriage but she wanted “freedom” and chose her new family. I had this hope inside of me that God would restore my marriage. Then that God would bring me a new better wife because if I’m being honest my wife was horrible. She didn’t cook, clean, had no maternal instincts, and the list goes on. Regardless I started saying you know what? A fresh start doesn’t sound that bad. Then I got convicted that I’m still married and until the divorce is finalized I need to fight for my cheating wife that abandoned our family by prayer because her soul is in danger. Then I started thinking well maybe we can work through her affair and abandonment and we could have a testimony. He’s right though! I’m so stressed and down not because of anything that even matters! I’m an amazing father and I was an excellent husband and I loved those titles. However that should never have been what fulfilled me! I should be fine even if I have nothing as long as I have God.

Seems that God’s 1st mention was for the woman to be a helpmeet for the man. Here in the latter days this is being turned around completely and some women actually fighting against their man.

That's very true, God is love, is not just words written on paper, true love is the first love, Emmanuel, he made man upright in his image and only he can fill that void, just like he moved upon the face of the waters in the beginning.
We are wired for marriage, partnership, and relationships.
And we are Commanded to be fruitful and multiply - it's not an option. Of course we have to love God more than our spouse and ourselves - but that's not saying you can't find fulfillment in marriage! I have to disagree with voddie on this.

Paul says singleness is better than marriage. The pressure to marry is not Biblical.
Not everyone is “wired” for marriage.
Church culture has made marriage into the supreme pinnacle of human existence, when scripture says no such thing.
In fact Paul says he who does not marry does better than he who marries. Look at ALL the positive affirmations of staying single in the seventh chapter of his first letter to the church at Corinth.

You also cannot find ypur fulfillment in ypur pastor. I see soooooo many people in our church who worship the pastor instead of the Lord! It has led to so much division and hurt. And yes, I agree 100% that fulfillment MUST come through the Lord! Joy in marriage only comes when each one seeks first the kingdom of God and His righteousness. Then we can stand together, submitted to our Lord, walking in obedience, and enjoy the blessings that God has given us in our marriage.
One very practical reason most singles I know desire marriage is so they can finally have sex, and it not be considered sin. Or they want to start a family. Or at the very least so they can have a companion and have someone to care for them when they get old.

I was disappointed…twice 😏🙄smh - BUT ONLY AFTER I made Adonai also know as God the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit #1 - I don’t mean “I’m saved”, I was saved for years BEFORE I finally SURRENDERED my EVERYTHING - my will, my decisions, my actions any by very DESIRES to the ONE AND ONLY MESSIAH JESUS! That’s when happiness, fulfillment, contentment and total peace rested upon me. All glory to the only true and living God!
Wow! I was feeling down because my wife abandoned me and our two kids on July 1, 2023. I was like man this sucks I can’t believe it I fought for our marriage but she wanted “freedom” and chose her new family.
I had this hope inside of me that God would restore my marriage. Then that God would bring me a new better wife because if I’m being honest my wife was horrible. She didn’t cook, clean, had no maternal instincts, and the list goes on. Regardless I started saying you know what? A fresh start doesn’t sound that bad. Then I got convicted that I’m still married and until the divorce is finalized I need to fight for my cheating wife that abandoned our family by prayer because her soul is in danger. Then I started thinking well maybe we can work through her affair and abandonment and we could have a testimony.
He’s right though! I’m so stressed and down not because of anything that even matters! I’m an amazing father and I was an excellent husband and I loved those titles. However that should never have been what fulfilled me! I should be fine even if I have nothing as long as I have God.

Good bless you , I’m going thru something similar w my husband .pray for their souls. The lord knew of this day before we were even born. Psalm 139:16❤️ in Gods providence He uses natural things that happen in our fallen lives to bring Him glory!

As her covering, even though she operated in sin you put yourself up on a pedestal and her down to the ground. God said love covers a multitude of sins. While you can’t change her change how you condemn her. Why? Bc God says pray for those who despitefully use us. We have to speak His word not our feelings. My mom did the same to us. It was Christ that showed me to stop bashing her to others so they could see His work in the matter. Ijs speak life the word only. Pray to Him in secret.
