You admitting to being slow and being fine with it is what made me hit subscribe. SO TIRED of "crochet this in xyz hours" things. I want to see people work on things at their own pace and take their time!
Thank you for saying that. I had someone I know tell me my videos should lean more towards the “crochet this in xyz hours” and I just laughed at them. That’s sooo not me. People are going to watch me struggle because that’s what feels right for me. I struggle, I fail, I’m slow.
@@BreathingYarn Oh please don't! I know it's good for algorithms and stuff so you do you to make that money, but I (as one small viewer) really love your "Yep I'm slow, that's who I am, deal with it" attitidue. I am slow too, maybe that's why I care - but the point of crochet is to take time to create is it not? Why would I want to make a jumper in 12 hours when I could spend weeks making the perfect one for me? If we rush crafting, we don't get to craft as long!! I guess the next new shiny project will always tempt us...but let's be real, it is a joy to look around and see the love and work we put into the decor of our house - the crochet "swatches" we turned into coasters that started our vest..the random crochet flowers everywhere because a mood struck one week... why should the memory be "Oh that's the jumper I made in 12 hours that stressed me out for a video" instead of "that's the jumper that was a struggle but I worked with it slowly and learned to cable!" But maybe its just me...
And working fast can cause some gnarly wrist strain, too! These aren't crafts that are meant to go fast. Yes, some folks really are just faster, and that's ok, but it's also OK to go slow. And what's the point of making our own things, if we get bogged down in the need to always produce the most as quick as we can?
Making an expensive project over time instead of spending 800$ up front for a similar product is totally valid! It’s like you saved up for what you really wanted ❤ the rug is GENUIS and totally beautiful!
Thank you. This was so inspiring. I have over 100 projects of every size, shape, technique, etc. to do. This year my motto is "if you started it, finish it." My cat doesn't engage with yarn. He mostly engages with food.
Im primarily a crocheter, but nothing has made me want to learn to knit like seeing that sweater! Im so glad your husband loves it! Also, its so cool to see you made the rug with the wool eaze, i made a blanket out of it but would have never consider it for a rug! It looks so cozy!
New fan here 🙋🏻♀️ love your videos ❤ I only do miniature knitting for my dolls but I hope some day I get the courage and the patience (and the needles) to make it person size 😅 I have 4 cats and one of them is particularly attached to me so is always with me, he always chews the yarn when I'm knitting and I notices like you said: when I feel the yarn wet 🙃 Love your rough ❤ the sweater is amazing 😮 I'm glad your husband loved it 😊
Okay, your goal is amazing!!! That would be sooo cool to see a life size knit doll. It sounds like such a big overtaking but these are the kinds of crafting goals I adore
I just wanted to let you know that I have been going through your videos while I've been knitting on a jumper. You've been excellent company - Thanks :)
Also, on granny squares, you can hold the leftover strands as you work over the next section of the granny square. Love the sweater! Congratulations on finishing everything!
Great job for pushing through on that sweater. Yeah, it can be stressful knitting/crocheting for others, but I always think it's worth it. Lovely sweater and coasters!
You’re so right!! I’m glad he’s worn it constantly since I finished. He insists on wearing it to all the holiday events 😂 I may need to sign myself up to make him a second sweater!
I complain about having a needy cat but I know I wouldn’t have it any other way. And thank you, hopefully the rug with last a while! I can’t imagine not having it now.
I like that you are working on the rug project while you're talking about it. It looks amazing too! But I was cracking up, because your commentary about the granny squares is me talking about every WIP I have, that I'm still not working on.
Girl I am in such a weird headspace the last couple of days and have been binge watching your videos and your honesty and overall energy give me such a safe space vibe THANK YOU
I really enjoy your chitter chatter while I knit or crochet with you 🫶 And congrats on your finishes! AND you didn’t fall foul to the husband/boyfriend sweater curse… so there’s that too! 😂😂😂
Girly pops for ur third attempt on making a granny square its fine ur learning from ur mistakes and u never made one before it looks normal and from a far or my perspective (my phone) i don’t see anything wrong with it 😊❤
Your rug is stunning 😍 it makes me want to make one, it adds such a cosy vibe! The cat I adopted when I was in high school some 13 years ago is at my parents house (and I miss having a cat so much 🥲), but when I knit there she's not too much into my yarn 😂 she always demands to be stroked but *we* need to lower to *her* level, so she's not much on the sofa, and so out of yarn's way 🤭 Also, it feels good to hear you're a selfish knitter, I think I kinda am too but don't wanted to admit it 🙄 the thing is I'm far less motivated to knit something that's not for me, even though at first I really want to make it for the person.
Exactly! I feel like I agreed to make things for others way too much at the beginning and I was genuinely excited but then when it came time to actually make the item, I had 0% motivation. Also, I love that your cat is a “you come to me” not the other way around kind of cat. That’s like my Merry, she won’t come to us but she begs for attention.
@@BreathingYarn I can feel that! Except people didn't really ask me to make them things, it was rather gifts (mostly for friends' newborns, and a pair of socks for a friend that's still a wip) I decided alone to make. But from now on I'll be sure to think twice before offering to make something/starting a gift 🤭 How cute 🥰🐱
new to this channel (and relatively new to knitting) and your videos are the perfect cozy accompaniment to my own knitting. I love the light purple sweater you are wearing at the beginning; is that from a pattern or self-drafted? its gorgeous!
It’s a lovely pattern from Kutovakika. It’s in her book “knit this” but very soon she’s planning to release those patterns individually on Ravelry. She has a RUclips channel that is very cozy and inspirational. 🥰
Thank you!! It’s just a single stitch back and fourth. It stays in place really well but it’s also on top of carpet so there’s a lot of grip. I’ve been walking on most of it for 6+ months and I vacuum it once a week. I am surprised at how well it’s holding up!
Dnd books and pathfinder as weight 😁
I was waiting for someone to notice that 😂 my husband and I individually had our own sets when we got married so we now have a whole shelf
I just wanted to say seeing your cats make biscuits on your balls of yarn was adorable ❤😂
I pay her extra for her yarn biscuit services

i love that you gave your granny squares a nice candle lit bath
They earned it 😂
“I want more coasters, I need oxygen” 😆 love watching you. Bye bye sad day ❤
I get 1-3 hours of freetime at the end of my workday and I've just been having a blast bingeing your vids, knitting, and drinking coffee ❤

The vibes are immaculate ✨
Thank you! I make sure to clean my vibes twice a day to make sure they are extra immaculate ✨

The rug is still my favorite project, daily joy. And the Halibut Sweater is still my favorite knitting pattern. I’m debating making another one.

How’s your jumper coming along?
@@BreathingYarn Well, I’ve nearly finished the 50+ rounds of colour work. Nervous to split for sleeves and entering the sea of stockinette.
I just instantly liked your vibe. Your cat is also glorious
the cat kneading the yarn was SO cute i love your cat
I love her too 🐈⬛🥰

The coasters , the sweater, the RUG 👏🏼 all chefs kiss!🧑🏻🍳 😘
Thank you so much! I’m glad I finally finished all those projects 😂
I love how your cats are active and apart of your videos!! it makes my day! I love cats!!
Well then this is the channel for you 😂 Pippin is determined to be on camera at all times!
@@BreathingYarn after watching a couple vids and them being on camera you bet I did subscribe xD

I really admire you for making an entire rug. Good for you! It looks great! Your cats are so good. Mine is also very needy so I can relate.

The existential stare at the rug WIP is so real. Thanks for sharing!
That's awesome that you finished all that! But I mainly wanted to say I LOVE the scrappy raglan you wore on one of the days!!! So good!
Oh thank you! It’s one of my favorites for the colors alone!!!

OMG, Princess Bride reference right off the bat? This is my kind of channel!
I was waiting for someone to mention that!!! I’m in good company with you 💜
I really enjoy your chitter chatter while I knit or crochet with you 🫶

AND you didn’t fall foul to the husband/boyfriend sweater curse… so there’s that too! 😂😂😂
The curse was my main motivation to finish 😂
that sweater is absolutely STUNNING! i only crochet so color work like that astounds me, it’s so intricate and beautiful
Thanks! It amazes me too, I’m so mesmerized by colorwork! I need to learn colorwork for crochet 🧶

Love the sweater, it looks amazing! :D
I LOVE the rug! And now I need to make my own…!
I lovvvveee a good sigh 😂😂😂
Love the rug so much and it gives me more ideas on what to do with my chunky yarn 😅😅😅
I never know what to do with chunky yarn so I’m glad I used up (almost) all the yarn I bought for the rug 😂
I’m on a binge watching your videos and now I know you knitted that sweater and it is GORGEOUS
Omg thank you!! 🥰
I’m currently working on a queen size blanket so I feel your pain. I hope it will be in my life for a long time 😅
From the beginning of the video love your beautiful cat!
I got lucky with her. My clingy COVID cat 🐈⬛ 🥰
I’m so inspired by your crochet rug! What are the dimensions? stitch style?! Love it!!
I love it too! It’s about 8x10 and just a whole bunch of single crochet stitches
Just learned today that granny square make awesome frisbees!
What else are granny squares for? They’re clearly for frisbee use only
I wondered in another video if you made that rug! 👏🏻 gorgeous
Omg thank you!!!

I feel your struggle with granny squares because I truly detest creating more than one of the exact same thing.i try to do it but it’s just no fun.

Literally forgot to name the pattern 😂 it’s the Maybe Forever sweater
Sometimes sighing just feels good lol
I’m thankful to see another sigh supporter 😂 It’s like a deep breath 😮💨
This probably shouldn't have lit a raging fire inside of me to crochet my own massive rug, but it did 🤷♀️😭
YESSSSSSS (do at your own risk lol)
obsessed with pippin
What stitch did you use for the rug? And does it stay in place well? It's gorgeous!

How many balls of yarn do you think you ended up using for the rug? I love how it (and the other projects!) turned out :))
Too many! Easily 20+ balls of each
Uhh I really like your couch where did you get it? ❤
It’s from Article. Took almost a year to save up for it but I like it.
I need oxygen 😂
.... fine I'll add a crochet rug into my future projects..... *sigh*
Yay so happy that your husband loved the sweater even though now you can’t keep it 😂
I’m definitely still going to steal it 🤣
