    I watched another video and did what it showed and didn't even see where the filter was located..so I came here and popped the panel off,and yep the filter is way back there ! i got some of it out,but it looked brand new so I will probably try again tomorrow...this is the best video though if you have a 2012 Altima. great job here,and thanks a lot !!

      @@filterheads I decided to go out and take the filter out and wow it stunk and was very dirty..I did cheat a little abd barely cut a tiny notch on the outer cardboard or whatever that is about 4 of them and it sure helped when I stuffed it in and was pushing into filter housing..but I got it done..but I have to get a cover because this one is gone...anyway great job !

      Yes it is a poor spot for the filter.

    I'd rather breathe in deadly contaminants than ever replace this filter again!!! C'mon Nissan, do better! 🙄

      Footwell housings can be a bit tricky to access. We hope it didn't give you too much trouble!

    My cabin air filter on my 13 Nissan Altima has moved to the engine side of the slot. How can I remove it?

    • @filterheads
      @filterheads  Год назад

      I do not have a video showing an install for the engine side.

      @@filterheads Luckily/Unluckily, I bought a cloth cabin air filter, as I managed to use a short clothes hanger and a medical 'hemostat' to grab and hold the filter, so I could twist and pull a tiny slip of material out and eventually get the entire thing out in one piece.

      @@filterheads the cabin filter was put into the correct slot, but once there, it moved further back and was difficult to get to

    Ok how did you reinstall the housing cover so it doesn’t fall out?

    • @filterheads
      @filterheads  Год назад +1

      This housing cover can be a little tricky. Having a flashlight on hand is helpful. In my experience it is easiest to get it back on by lining the top part of the housing door in first and then swinging down the bottom part and clipping it in.

    There is no reason to remove the panel, the filter door can be accessed with it in place. It is still a pain in the butt, but makes it a little easier. It is actually easier doing it by feel if you don't have to have the camera in there like the vid.
