Can't believe I hadn't heard this song before now. wearing the conductor hat in 89,90,91..... Watched the movie last night Christmas miracle of Jonathan Toomey (which I can't believe I hadn't seen before now) and heard this song and said that has to be Steve Earle..........❤❤
Better late than never. After hearing Copperhead Road on WXRT back in '88, I bought the Cassette. This song totally surprised me at the end. Absolutely beautiful.
That's exactly my story with movie Johnathan Toomey * and it's been a minute since the credits run slow afterwards.. just had to see Who sing
This beautiful soulful song.. much to my surprise.. Steve Earle.. really really..
Copperhead Road Man 😮 Can't get enough.. nothing but a child.. irony is that's what Jesus says.. come as a child
Blessings to all..❤ He Lives

Makes me cry, every time.
You're not alone there. It's made me cry since I first heard it on my newly purchased "Copperhead Road" Cassette in '88.

Saw him sing this on Nashville Now in the late 80s. Beautiful song !

Thank you precious song❤️❤️💭
Interesting story there. I also loved his little closing quip.

It's my favorite Christmas tune as well. Thank you for posting Joe, and for not cutting out the fascinating backstory, as many would have done. I hope you and your family had a terrific Christmas.
I looked at the Oakridge Boys Christmas songs.....big mistake to leave this gem in the pile.
Absolutely love this song ❤ thank you for posting x
Me too. Sucks they never play it on the radio
I post this song on a private forum every year. Makes me seem more likeable.
Really a very nice Chritmas song. I very much enjoy also the cover of PHON ROLL.
