      @MindBodyHorizons hi Shrey, would you be able to curate an easy schedule of exercises for seniors who have had prostate surgery and need chair exercises to build muscle. A 10 min exercise regimen would help. I love the way you explain and I'm trying to get my husband to follow as well. Best Regards and keep ✨️ shining..

    At 70 , I continue to do my morning stretches , light weights , walking and yoga daily. It’s been a lifestyle for me and I can’t imagine ever stopping. I am 5’0 and 114 lbs and can keep up,with any 40 year old.

    Walking on the treadmill on an incline of 6 to 8 helped the front of my leg strenth. I walk backwards and side ways at an incline for hips and knees! I am 77. My knees are better!

    77 years young. I walk 8 miles a day, do kettle bell swings, yes they are leg exercises, squats glute bridges and go to gym several times a week. I walk upstairs dozens if times a day. You can too

    • @rondorazio4921
      @rondorazio4921 Месяц назад +4

      I'm 77 too. Not sure I can walk 8 miles due to my left leg getting a little numb after 2 or 3 miles, probably due to lower back stenosis. But to treat the condition I do deep Asian squats, staying squatted for about 30 seconds or longer, and then returning to a standing position without using my hands. I also run on a treadmill, and having worked out with weights for over 60 years I disagree with the poster about losing a lot of muscle mass after 50. I don't think I've lost much at all.

    • @MindBodyHorizons
      @MindBodyHorizons  Месяц назад +4

      That is impressive! Asian squats are not easy, especially holding for 30+ seconds. Also on your last comment - that is exactly why strengthening your muscles EARLY is the key to preserving muscle mass and avoid sarcopenia in the first place. I hope to be in a similar situation where I don't lose much after age 50-60

    Thank you. I'm 6I've've have fibromyalgia for over 30 years and I'm hypermobile. I have dreadfully tight flutes and calves.I can't walk very far but I swim in the sea almost every day. (Cold water resets the pain and keeps me agile.) Coming back up the steel beach and over the very small dunes or walking up the boardwalk is very difficult and I get cramps and pain later on. I wi!l save this and try the exerciss.I always have to 'start very small.'

    First exercise, sit to stand helped me to strengthen glutes. Glute bridge is problematical since it seems to aggravate my Stenosis between L1-S1. The next day I'm always in pain & can barely walk.

    • @MindBodyHorizons
      @MindBodyHorizons  Месяц назад +1

      Hi, thank you for bringing that up. Glute bridge is considered to be an "extension" exercise - this can sometimes aggravate stenosis/facet-joint pain. I would always consult with a doctor/physio before adding any new exercises to your daily routine.
      There also other modifications and alternatives to the glute bridge

    Get to a gym and simply start moving. Your body will let you know how to build up those muscles. I got back to the gym after being sad and sedentary for many years, plus I had not worked out at a gym for 20 years. Just get there!; your body will thank you and so will your spirit. (63 years young)

    Hi shery, hope you doing great, can you suggest some exercises to relieve pain in elbows and fingers as since two years after dengue my mother suffers every year with above problem as winter approach. Please note she got dengue in November, 2022 and since then each year in November these pains start again. This year the pain is more intense than the last year. When picking some thing heavy it really hurts at her elbows and hand joints. Thanks in advance. Looking forward to your answer

    • @MindBodyHorizons
      @MindBodyHorizons  Месяц назад +2

      Absolutely! It is possible - but start small and steady. I would argue that it's even more important to try and build muscle strength after joint replacements. Stronger muscles support joints and help you immensely with mobility. All the best!

      Hi! Unfortunately I cannot answer that question as I would have to do a thorough assessment and get a better idea of your specific condition. Are you seeing any physios or other health professionals? You may ask them if these specific exercises can help. Always start small and steady

    • @MindBodyHorizons
      @MindBodyHorizons  Месяц назад +1

      That is a great point.The single leg heel lift would be great progression the double heel lifts. Many people over 60 are unable to do a single leg heel lift. BUT, thanks for bringing that up. I'll include that as a harder option in future videos! Also your last sentence made me laugh LOL
