Prisoners of war in England were actually treated very well comparable to their captors. After Germany surrendered some were even paid 1 shilling a day working on farms
I spend a lot of time out in the dark in random places abandoned buildings, camping out in woods, staying in caves. Have done for 20 years. Apart from the odd strange person I've never seen anything dodgy or untoward. 😊
Love your videos, but have to correct you about the treatment of German prisoners of war in Sherwood. During World War II, Sherwood Forest in Nottinghamshire, England, was home to several prisoner of war (POW) camps, including one that housed German soldiers. These camps were part of a broader network of POW camps in the UK that adhered to the Geneva Convention, which dictated the treatment of prisoners of war. German POWs in Sherwood Forest and other UK camps generally experienced the following conditions: 1. Adequate Housing: The camps were often rudimentary, consisting of wooden huts, but they provided adequate shelter, food, and medical care. Conditions improved over time as the war progressed, with many camps eventually resembling small communities. 2. Work Programs: Many German POWs were assigned to work on local farms, in forestry, or in industries as part of the British war effort. This work was in line with the Geneva Convention, which allowed POWs to be used for labor that wasn’t directly related to the war effort. Some POWs developed good relationships with local civilians during their time working. 3. Leisure and Education: The camps provided recreational activities like sports, theatrical productions, and even educational opportunities. Some POWs took advantage of these programs to learn English or other skills. In some cases, cultural and sporting exchanges with locals helped improve relationships. 4. Security and Surveillance: The camps were guarded, but after the war ended, security was relaxed for most prisoners, especially as many German soldiers were waiting for repatriation. While escapes did happen, most POWs complied with the rules. 5. Repatriation: After the war, most German POWs were eventually repatriated, although some stayed in the UK for several years after the conflict ended due to labor shortages. In general, the treatment of German POWs in Sherwood Forest was in line with international standards, and many of the former prisoners spoke positively about their experiences in Britain after the war. However, early in the war, when emotions were high, treatment might have been harsher, but this improved as the war progressed.

The thing with "haunted" places is pre conditioning.somebody says "you know those woods are haunted" and everybody jumps when an animal passes nearby.how many peaceful camps have you had, only for someone to ask if you saw the ghost? Keep an open mind and take each camp as it comes.cheers Dan.

Heres a little something for you to ponder over before you go to sleeps , you dream when you sleep, then the thing that made you dream then hides that dream from the very thing that made the dream , so its hiding from itself , yup , run that one before you sleep .

Re: POW's; The British army were worlds away from other nations regarding their treatment of POW's. They were well fed and cared for. There was a POW camp just up the road from me (before I was born) and my father and grandparents befriended a German POW, who was actually allowed to roam and work locally, named Karl which they kept in touch with for some considerable time after the war was over. Please do a bit of homework before putting it out there that people starved and suffered at the hands of the allies!

Surprised you got away with it mate normally have rangers go round to stop camping and the army place you was talking about is next village Houghton ollerton👍
Good video man...if you're a skeptic does that mean your own experience of footsteps on a previous video was a set up 😮😮...yh agree though ive used those phone apps the only one that was slightly believable was one that did white noise and it actually answered my questions for about 5 minutes then went quiet..its always the same old addage you won't believe in something unless you have your own experience about something but some people still won't believe in things even if they literally get slapped in the face..my dad will go to his grave not believing we grew up in a very haunted house things flying around, shadow figures and being picked up by unknown force's as kids it was quite disturbing yet dad wouldn't budge till mum bless her soul had a breakdown then we moved into another haunted house 300 miles away from the previous one only this one was friendlier and had a good feeling about it.
The German prisoners were actually treated very well as a whole, I am sure some had it hard but only a small amount, certainly not like Allied prisoners of war by the Germans and Japanese.

I go on many ghost hunts,,heard and seen things, I used to be a sceptic but not anymore,, everyone as there own opinion
Believe what you want to believe, the chances of it being influenced by anything other than program designers, is very remote.
👻🎃
We like all kinds of camping tools outdoor. Maybe mini chainsaw is good tool to cut firewood.

Dan you won't find any ghost's, the bigfoots scared them all away 😂
🤣🤣🤣
My local forest 😇
It's a nice place to be around
My local area . used to find hundreds of empty rifle shells when I was a kid,
Used to be a training area and firing ground for sherwood foresters, plus a part called sherwood pines as trenches they used to practice in for the first world war
Until the ghost introduce it self to me I don't believe.
Agree with you Dan re the app is programmed to say things.
Man who won the hot tent lol!
No one yet
phew thought we had missed@@englishwoodsman
I feel like if I camped in Sherwood Forest, I would have had to wear a Robin Hood hat the entire time...
Just write smaller and higher up on the bag. Not that a bit of ink will do you any harm.
Surprised you got away with it mate normally have rangers go round to stop camping and the army place you was talking about is next village Houghton ollerton👍
There are Ghosts out there, but I see them like a negative from a film, you cannot talk to them they just repeat what they did in Life
Martin bormon remembered
Im sure I saw Friar Tuck 😂😂😂😂
🤣🤣
Spitting on his gopro, 😬
@@fin1131 good job it's waterproof
Write at the very top of the food bag x
When is the draw for the tent?
Martin bormon ground
Camp were you want trespass is a civil matter
Combine your Wainwright walks and wild camping into individual videos, along the route.
Pennine trail next?
I'm opening all new doors next year
The German prisoners were actually treated very well as a whole, I am sure some had it hard but only a small amount, certainly not like Allied prisoners of war by the Germans and Japanese.
When I was kid I could clime inside and climb up in side the tree , where Robin Hood Hyde
Wow, it’s about time you’re camping or are you going to give away Sherwood Forest?
