Nothing wrong with bringing your own wood with you especially if the resources are limited. Hopefully plenty more Hot tent camps to come:)
A wood fire is important to a satisfying camp. Wet wood won't do. Green standing won't do. By all means, bring dry wood. When we car camped, I brought wood from home that I had cut in a woodland. This has been one of your finest videos for filming, composition, and content.

i use Vaseline in between two cotton pads (the ones birds use to take makeup off) they are light as a feather and light straight away also burn for around 5 mins give them a try you wont go back lol
Water actually releases heat slower than the rocks or ground around it, if you keep a kettle on the stove while it's burning out the heat transfer will continue longer
Great video mate. My wife and i did our first wild camp last weekend in Norway. Absolute wash out 😂. First lesson learned. Dont pitch tent at bottom of a mountainside during heavy rain😂.

Thanks for the video. It is so easy to forget things as you're getting out the door. I try to keep all my hot tent kit in one travel crate. Somehow I still manage to forget something.😂 I almost got that tent. Chose the Stove Hut 70 instead. Little more headroom. It also seems like my Washington state weather matches yours in the UK.
