    Great content, venture x is great, and it pays out even if you just travel once a year through the portal.

    Great video. How in the world do you not ding your credit score every time you do this? I want to open more, but my credit score goes down initially and then shoots up bc I have an increased credit limit, but it gives me a hard time every single card. I probably won't be getting this particular card bc hubby and I don't travel out of state too much. So I tend to gravitate towards straight up cash back cards. Getting my first credit card bonus was amazing. 10/10 recommend!

      Mine goes down 4-5 points and then jumps back up, so it doesn't bother me! I usually try to space out opening them every 6 months to 1 year, but lately I've been spacing apart less!

      Credit will vary and going down some points is perfectly fine as long as you aren’t doing it right before you’re expecting to purchase something major like a home or vehicle. If your points go down from opening a card it will go back up within a month or two.

    Thank you for the video. You are missing out not going to the airport lounges. Even though I have this card I am yet to go to a capital one lounge. Since I am not interested in cash back. I love using this card at Costco. Since I have other travel cards.
    I like to use this one as a catch all

    Great review! I heard that Capital one check all three major credit bureaus for a hard inquiry. What is the impact difference (decrease in credit score) compared to other lenders such as Chase which check only 1 credit bureau?

    Pair this with a Savor card and you have a great duo.

    Didn't talk about transferring the miles to airlines to book flights, you get more value for your miles (points)

      Good call! I haven't used it for that yet but you're right, I'll have to look into that

    Question?...so you mentioned the TSA pre check perk and your guest may not be able to take advantage of that ...but if you add someone you trust and travel with all the time as an authorized user, would they have the pre check advantage also ?

    I’m so torn bc it’s so expensive to travel without rewards points but I really don’t want to back to dealing w credit cards again. It’s such a hassle 😞

      Maybe you could try sticking to just a single travel card?

    Perfect timing because I just got this card this month. So far I used this card to pay for my upcoming trip to Miami.
    What are your thoughts on when you book a hotel through capital one but it’s a lower price on other platforms?
    Also, I did have the fee appear in my transactions within 24 hours but I was also able to access the travel credit upfront too. I didn’t have to wait a few months. Maybe things have changed?

    • @PersonalFinancewithLeila
      @PersonalFinancewithLeila  6 месяцев назад

      I haven't booked a hotel or anything besides this rental car through Capital One, but I do always compare and make sure it's the same after everything. I noticed the price was higher booking through Chase for example, but I compared to other platforms and if I used a 3% card and it came out to the same value overall...hopefully that makes sense.
      And yeah maybe I'm misremembering the credit! I thought it came a couple months later but maybe it's faster!

      Capital one price matches. Takes like 2 minutes calling them.

    To each their own, but I would have transferred the C1 miles to airline partners to get better points valuation for redeeming first/business class. tickets. Also, get Global Entry, not TSA Precheck, Global Entry comes with TSA Precheck included. Make use of the Priority Pass lounges too, save money on food & beverage.

    • @stevenluo9516
      @stevenluo9516 2 месяца назад +1

      Assumption 1: The airline partners actually have better value and she flies that airline. Usually not the case.
      Assumption 2: This person likes to fly first or business class.
      Assumption 3: The points can actually and easily be used without leakage as compared to C1's "Pay Yourself Back" type scheme.
      Assumption 4: It's easy for her to get Global Entry appointments in her area.
      Assumption 5: Priority Pass Lounges are available in her main airport and can actually be used.

    Do these rewards work for other expenses, or would other cards be better for things like gas or food?

    • @PersonalFinancewithLeila
      @PersonalFinancewithLeila  6 месяцев назад +1

      I suggest other cards for those things! For groceries I use Citi custom cash (5%) for gas I use this card but otherwise I use Chase freedom flex or discover it when they have 5% on gas

    Just curious what your credit score is like after applying for new cards so often? Doesn’t it go down about 3 points every time?

    • @PersonalFinancewithLeila
      @PersonalFinancewithLeila  21 день назад +1

      I applied to 2 just in the last 2 weeks and got approved for both. So far it's dropped about 10 points but it doesn't bother me because it always bounces back.
      I also usually don't open them THAT frequently, it's about every 6-10 months or so!

    Are you able to cash it out? Paying your statement balance

    • @PersonalFinancewithLeila
      @PersonalFinancewithLeila  6 месяцев назад +1

      Yes but it's not a 1:1 redemption (same thing applies like I mentioned with con #2)

    • @SpartanOfFinance
      @SpartanOfFinance 2 месяца назад +1

      They only give .5 per point so it’s not a good redemption. You can cover travel charges at 1 cent/point.
