❗UPDATE! Recently Capital One refreshed the design and name of the Capital One Savor One to the Savor Cash Rewards card! So far the perks look pretty similar, but with a bumped welcome bonus. Learn more at kevinyang.info/savor-cash Question for you: How many Capital One credit cards do you have? Which is your favorite?👇
Two. Savor one and venture x. I love the savor one because it covers so many categories. Usually when I go to a food festival, the stands get counted as restaurants or groceries or entertainment. The SavorOne covers all three categories, leaving the CSP in the dust.
@@KevinYang I left it in the cashback for now, with the intent of transferring to Venture miles eventually. I'm still sitting on ~300k of UR points to burn through with Chase before I start touching any of my c1 miles. It kinda sucks that we aren't earning any interest on the points/miles.
I applied for the Savor One back in July and was asked to provide additional information such as Income, Taxes, Identification, etc. after I did that I got approved. I just applied for the venture x in October and did the pre approval before applying. After getting the green light I went ahead and now have both. I have under 10 credit cards and my credit score it in the mid 700s
I have 3 capital one cards. Venture X, venture, and quicksilver. The value you can obtain from all the cards is awesome but the venture x takes the cake. Great video Kevin.
I’d switch the Venture card to a Savor One card if you have the upgrade offer to do so. Venture X gives 2x everything else already and the Savor One has solid 3% cash back options, the Quicksilver is a decent 1.5% cash back catch all card.
Great vid! You are right....but i feel like captial one will always lag behind...not because they don't have great cards, but because so few people can get approved for them. I love my venture x but so few people can get the product. They barely even wanted to give u venture rewards with the 29% rate (congrats on that approval by the way) Great cards but this sort of behavior will keep captial one behind chase, Amex, possibly citi.
My new Venture One card got a upgrade offer to Savor One, and my original Savor One had a upgrade offer to the Venture card I took both offers. 3% cash back on select categories and 2x miles on everything else will be a solid duo. My end game plan is to open a 3rd C1 card and move some credit lines around to make a 10K cl on one card and grab a Venture X upgrade in time. I have too too many credit cards and C1 would never give me a Venture X otherwise haha! I will see how things play out but I’m content with the Savor One and Venture card for now.
I currently have VX S1 and CSP. But I am considering upgrading to CSR (I’m going to keep VX) since my home airport is PHL, and they’re opening a sapphire lounge. What’s your thoughts on having both VX and CSR?
It's sort of similar to me having the VX + Amex Plat given my use of the credits and having a Centurion lounge here in SeaTac - I'd have both if they make sense! The VX is easy if you can use the credits as you'll be positive every year. With that aside, the only decision is whether the CSR is worth it for you or not, regardless of the VX!
Congrats Kevin! What info did they need to get from you & how long did that take to resolve? And while it’ll be sufficient for you to hit the SUB over 3 months, a $2k credit limit is really low. Since the Venture is now a MC instead of a Visa, maybe they’ll allow you to product change it to the S1 next year (I’m going to assume this is a one year and done card even though you didn’t explicitly say it, given you already have a VX).
I was thinking the same things about the credit limit being low. Won’t that hurt your utilization rate if you have to spend $4k in three months with a $2k limit?
it's very attempting. In my situation, I am about to cancel the CSR but there's some points I haven'e used. I don't know if I should downgrade to csp to keep the point or cancel it to apply csp and open venture x at the same time
Downgrade don’t loose your credit history if you had that card for a good while. Credit history is 35% of your credit score 😊 time is the one thing we can’t buy 👍
10x on uber, 5x at wallyworld, 3x on streaming and food with no af, paired with vx card that makes 5 bucks has been a winner. so much so, im punting 3 gold, 2 plat and a marriott card at renewal. what shall i do with 2700 bucks ill be saving?
@@KevinYangI’m picking up the ink and air Canada cards next. After that just about out of subs. Amex will probably put me in pop up jail once I start canceling.
@@KevinYang I applied for the venture X and product changed from my two quicksilvers to the venture cards. I’m not sure if I’ve reached my limit of cards so that’s why I wanted to product change to the Savor One. I also don’t want to risk being denied.
@@kevinjackson7264Have you tried the pre approval tool? Although not guaranteed it’s a fairly decent insight into whether you’ll get approved for the S1.
Hi, the best thing to do is to try and pay down as much as you can on your cards. Your utilization will go down your credit score will go up for lower utilization you’ll be approved for a bigger loan with a better interest rate all because you paid your cards down . Good luck 👍

The VX for the 4 free AUs is tremendous!!! That plus the $300 travel credit, 10,000 anniversary points and the primary CDW is great!

When I was in the Philippines American Express was never accepted but I had no problem with my Capital One and there's zero transaction fees
I doubt the credits stack. You can't book one flight on two cards. Just got the VX and I love it. Keep up the great content Kevin.
That's a great point!
Hi Kevin, need to unfreeze which credit report agency during pre-approval ? final application ?
The capital one duo is the best: VX and S1
100%! Have you made use of the S1 -> VX cash back to miles transfer?
@@KevinYang absolutely, it’s great!
If you have the venture can you get the venture x with the sign up bonus?
I believe so, I personally was able to get the bonuses on each!
