Yes, would like to see a head to head with the curado BFS!
Definitely going to have to try one of these! I’ve just had a bit of time with the dwu kf50sr and now I can say it’s not bad! So this should be nice! The quality and tolerance has by far improved in the last few years! It’s first test in the front yard casting a 1.66g swivel was effortless! I noticed small inconsistencies as it broke in over a few dozen cast’s and subsequently loosening the friction adjustment. also the mag adjustment isn’t exactly perfect in consistency with adjustment but it’s good enough for over 1.5g! Price vs performance is pretty good!
Hey, thanks for the review! I haven't made the move on a bfs yet. I am using a Shimano Calcutta 50 that's about 30 years old it is my favorite out of 3 Calcutta's I own, and the newest. My other 2 are the 1st Calcutta ever made. I think it's a 100 it is silver. The other one I have is a 200 it and the 50 are the gold color. I haven't bought a new reel in years. My spinning reel is a Shimano Sustain from back when the Sustain was the top of the line spinning reel. It has a dual paddle handle like a baitcasting reel and is also about 30 years old. The list price on it was 550 when I bought it used but in perfect shape and less than a year old for 250, It's a great reel 30 years later I'm still using it and it still works great.....FishOn....jimi
Long live the Calcutta! My first Calcutta a 150 is at the bottom of the pacific!! And On the finest rod I’ve ever built!! A few less than choice words were expressed when I dropped it! I’ve Still got a 50xt and 400s the latter caught a nice mangrove jack and a few jewfish tonight
if you ever decided to try BFS there are lots of great cheap options now, unlike when I started BFS
Just ordered one. Can't wait till it delivers and try casting a trout magnet. Currently have Kastking Zephyr BFS reels with and without clicker and a Shimano Scorpion 17 BFS-XG to compare it with. Would definitely like to see a Curado side by side comparison!
Haha I was suprised it came in a couole days! Im so used to Ali Express shipping times!😂
Wow tough struggle with that 1/2 oz pan fish at 8:15. Top teir stuff
I'm down for a head to head with the Curado BFS.
I don't regret buying my Curado at all. Sure it has a heavier spool, in my opinion a tad over braked, and has a really fine window to dial it in for max casting, but I love it. Took 2 magnets out and can fine tune the brakes even more.
The discount code was a suprise! Thanks! Can't wait to try it!
Im not sure it was a code, they just sell it cheaper
@THEREELTEST - there was a specific $25 coupon, off the $169. Weird, so it wasn't you? You can always lie to me and say it was.... I won't tell
@@mattmain237what was the code,
Don't know, but I have a feeling it is an advertisement...
And what’s wrong with that? How else are you to find out about a new product? without knowing about it how would you go purchasing it yourself?
Im not worried about it
@@needmoreboost6369because the thoughts on the product won’t be true if it’s paid advertising
I have the slx bfs so would love to see the curado show down
I have the slx and aldebaran bfs reels & I prefer the slx because it's easier to dial in, but the aldebaran is super smoooothhhhh...
Damn! Now I want a BFS setup! LOL
Yes do a side by side .that would be interesting.
I have a curado BFS and am looking for a reel to cast down to 1gram. My Curado as great as it is, cannot do a gram.
Yes, would definitely like to see this reel going up against the curado BFS.
Question: Do you think there is any difference between the curado and slx BFS in terms of performance? Because I bought the curado for a bit cheaper than the slx but recently found out that the slx might be saltwater rated, while the curado isn't? I have a lot of saltwater areas around me and it would be pretty cool catching a striper on BFS but I'm not sure if it's safe for the curado to fish saltwater.
Curado and SLX comes with plastic main gear(junk). I will take this reel over Curado all day long.
@@timleng4404 Can the flight feather handle saltwater?
If I could choose what reel I would have gone with a cc23 but I was able to get my curado for $135 which is a lot less than the ff
스풀 중량 최고의 성능이 나올것이라 예상되지만 다크울프가 있어서 패스합니다!
Man, I caught a 4 and a 1/2 pound bass best fish. I caught all year on a serious little truck. Set up cheap Ollie express rod NPW 100. But I think it was the PW. It's the updated one with the purple spool. You want to talk about a fight
BFS is all about fun
sir can you make a review about SEASIR CAST X bfs. its so viral on tiktok here in southeast asia, sold from tiktok around 4k pcs, and i got one also.
Nice bro! I need a new bfs.
would this reel out perform a zebco 33 ?
Can i test the ultralight rod lol😊😊
If it was raw graphite/ plastic I’d buy it in a flash!, the seasir mansory, ha ha how about the names! think it’s pronounced(see sir man-sorry) looks good and bought one on it’s look’s alone lol and it’s not bad in the quality vs price it’s very lightweight and has the hybrid bearings
so you prefer graphite to magnesium?
@@THEREELTESTdefinitely prefer alloy’s, and mag is nice definitely as a structural material but doesn’t hold a polish just like aluminium, a coating I’d say is needed but not sure how it would go anodised if it were raw and maybe clear coated it would look nice but likely needed paint maybe just a boring colour would look more classy , but I’d prefer raw plastic composite over lbgtabcdefg+ colours
Nothing is BFS if it can't cast out a 1/32
@thereeltest about how many ft/yards of line did you spoil it up with?
I dont know, but I transferred it over from either the Aldebaran or SS Air which were full. so this Flight Feather holds quite a bit of line
Is the Ifishband Tendershoot on your radar?
I sent Ifishband a message on Instagram asking if they could send me a test reel but they never replied. If someone wants to send me one Ill definitely review it
Just to let you know, Amazon has this reel for $169.
Very nice performing reel...but it not for me...much prefer stealth looking bfs...hehej
A shorter rod will make your pitching much easier and better. Major Craft 3’8” is genius to that purpose.
Hesitant to choose between this and Haibo Arise
tough decision as both reels are actually really good. I prefer the brakes on the Arise but the Flight Feather is smoother
What happened to the Haibo Arise? It made quite a splash when it came out, but I haven't seen anything more (on reputable channels) about it. I was expecting comparisons with other reels, but I'm still waiting. ❤🩹@@THEREELTEST
Can I put 15lb Fluro on this reel if I want???
sure, but it wont hold much
Your overrun issue you're experience is because you don't adjust your spool tension correctly. Wherever you learned that you adjust a bait caster to where the spool has no play, that's incorrect. EVERY bait caster should be adjusted so that the spool overruns ONE TIME once your lure hits the ground when dropping it from eye level (with brakes adjusted to ZERO). This means you're calibrating your setup specific to whatever lure you're preparing to cast, and when you get that 1 additional turn of over run with zero brakes, it means your spool is already close to being adjusted for casting that specific lure, and then you set your brakes half way to ensure you are indeed within the prime casting settings.
95% of the tine you will be VERY close to being perfectly set up.
Wow everytime you post a comment you prove yourself to be an idiot
i heard great thing about this reel but i can't get over the color scheme it's bit too tacky for me looking a reel they sell in wal-mart for kids so for that it's a pass
I sorta thought the same
I wouldnt be surprised if this reel came out in a more standard color
@@THEREELTEST They launched a new black version
