The silent tune actually does more than just keeps the spool and bearing stable. It seals the gap between the frame, bearing and spool shaft. Those who like to fish saltwater it is a great improvement as it also makes harder for water to get inside the reel, since the spool shaft area was one of the main reason how water gets inside the reel. The only way now water can get through there is through the bearing itself. Also water gets easily through the worm gear section as well, but they have started to seal that area with o-rings as well. Overall I like this new silent tune.
Now I have to agree the previous spring loaded silent tune was more user friendly when adjusting the spool tension, that is a fact. But for me and many others, it doesn’t really affect much at all since the spool tension is set once you get the reel and then left alone…

Hello... I see people having issues with GoPro's all the time. I personally shoot with DJI action's I have never had a single issue with any of them. No freezing, no lost footage, and no SD card issues. Also, the stabilization is so good! If I were you I would switch to a DJI Action 3. Keep up the good work, I enjoy watching your videos. I'm currently waiting on my Aldebaran BFS and can't wait to use it. The JDM SLX BFS and Curado BFS are nice to use and wanted to upgrade. Tight lines!

It’s strange when you think about the amount of RH people who love left handed baitcasters. I think maybe it’s the people who used spinning reels growing up with the handle on the left side and later transitioned to baitcasters. I’m RH and my first baitcaster was an Abu 5500 and I always thought it somewhat strange to have the handle on the right. Went left handed on the baitcasters and never went back lol. Great video!

There’s a good amount of bfs capable rods 7’+ if you look hard enough. Not sure how low you’re throwing but I can throw 1.5g with ease. Old18 just came out with a bfs line called Buoyancy. Definitely worth looking into.

    • @billsikes4007

@@joweynatividad2347 I'm glad you mentioned Old18 as I had an opportunity to fish the Suppressor UL with a 16 Alderbaran which I thought was amazing. The Buoyancy was sold out almost immediately and I can't imagine them having any reasonably inventory for the foreseeable future despite their latest videos. Reasonable availability dictates what would would be considered as "good amount of bfs capable rods 7'+" which there is next to none. Help me out with 7 ft rods that are rated for 1 gram - 1/320z lures, I'm desperate.

    • @joweynatividad2347

Do you know if Shimano will make a MGL Aldebaran 50 2022 ? The smallest spool that I like to fish is a 50 size with 10 lb line.
OH AND I wanted to bring this up ,lol, … if you are to look at the side view (with the brake dial) of the 22 Aldebaran , you can see a fish profile .(hard to explain). See the brake dial as his eye , and the bottom sweep back as his mouth. I hope you can see it . Lol i don’t know how to explain , but I thought it is cool for Shimano to make the brake side plate look like a bass side profile . Lol

Every time you make one of these videos with the trout magnet my wallet starts to hurt 😂 I mainly fish trout magnets with the AATW but only when conditions permit. I mainly find myself throwing TMs on a 1/32oz jig head. Often times I find myself just talking an altoid box full of jig heads and sow bug trout magnets

I am impressed with your objectivity in this video. I would have bet $20.00 that you would have declared the Shimano a clear winner over the Daiwa. I appreciate your channel, and have subscribed for years, but have always felt your Shimano bias made your cast tests questionable. Your Stock just went up because of not leaning towards Shimano in a competetion between two closely performing reels.

  • @davidmoore928

When it comes to estimating the casting distance would it be possible to count the number of revolutions of the handle, then use the gear ratio and line retrieved per revolution to mote accurately estimate the distance. This could done while on the water or later by reviewing the film to count the number of handle revolutions. Otherwise a great video with guest appearances by fish.

    • @THEREELTEST
