Hi Matt, Cara, Rooster and Trailrecon. I really enjoyed the video. The scenery is just breathtaking and the caves and narrow passageways were awesome. Thank you so much for sharing.
Those sculptures are some of my favorite little Easter eggs! I remember the first time I saw the Jeep one I actually thought it was a real Jeep that got stuck on the rocks!
Wonderful episode. My wife and I just might plan a trip to Anza Borrego just to see the sculptures. After you were showing your camera to Carol on EFRT, we are interested in the back story, if you’re comfortable in telling us more about it? The story sounds like it could be very interesting. Thanks for sharing your adventures with everyone.
I purchased the camera from an elderly man local that was a film photographer whose father was also a film photographer. He keeps all of their cameras in cases and maintenances them himself. He had a huge passion for medium format and is a wealth of knowledge. So many stories. He first purchased a Minolta Autocord that he shot 10 rolls of film through and purchased in 1965. He then upgraded to the Hasselblads. I have since purchased that Minolta as well from him as well as multiple backs. The Hasselblads he owns are collectors’ items and some have never been opened from the 50s. It’s quite remarkable to hear his stories and to see his passion. Medium format is not a chase the picture/memory type of photography. Rather the slowing down and understanding the all manual everything aspect of the camera invites you into the memory itself and allows you to truly sit there and soak it in. I have fallen in love with it.
Thanks Matt for another great story. I bought a RTT in December and finally got to spend the night in it out here near Fonts Point so I could enjoy the sunrise. It’s going to be interesting to see Brad in Arkansas. I hope he makes it.
Matt what drone are you using these days? I love how you always get so excited about the beauty of every place you visit! It makes me want to immediately plan a trip. Keep up the great content creation!!
Ricardo Breceda is the artist behind Galleta Meadows. He has a place up near Temecula that's open to the public and can either buy "off the shelf" sculptures, or commission work. He's a nice person.

Welcome to Southern Cal.You are getting close to Death Valley. DV makes Anza look like a Wal-Mart parking lot. Ok, maybe not that drastic but this is the time to go!
We just took Sully and with all of the gear, we didn’t have room for two car seats. This was Roo’s first time for this big of a trip too so we wanted to make sure everything went smoothly.
Hi Matt . I’m Vincent from Houston Texas. I’ve been watching your Chanel for years, that lead me to get my JT now . ( MOJAVE) I’ve already had 37 NITTOs , 2.5” lift, and plan to have my Gladiator re gear ( I choose 4.88 ). Please give me your advice if 4.88 is fitted for my Jeep . BTW , I chose Revolution gear sets . Thanks in advance. Love your channel as always.
Your Dream Coke is The Coke Ultimate flavor, though, is all tropical. It tastes like Coke mixed with Hawaiian Punch. But then there's a hint of artificial bitterness on the end, which is reminiscent of grenadine, making it taste like a canned Roy Rogers
Just curious, I really enjoy all of your videos, I always wondered though, coming from many years of being part of a search and rescue team I have noticed in almost every video that you have wandered away from the group or the camp you never carry any type of just in case pack or a waist pack with some basic emergency gear ! I would hate for you to have a fall or get lost and not have the basics to keep you alive! Just a friendly suggestion, because you are a great person and wouldn’t want to see anything bad happen to you that could have been avoided 😊

If you’re keeping it light the 4.88s will be perfect. If it’s going to be a heavy build go with 5.14

I love Roy Rogers but that is definitely not it. LOL
Lol. Quicksand isn't as big of a thing as we were made to believe lol
Facts!! 😂
That sounds like a Freddy Kruger Dreamworld Coke
Can confirm
Love watching your videos and enjoy your adventures. You tube keeps unsubscribing me from your channel ugh.
Thanks for checking.
Is that a Hasselblad camera that Cara was using?
Yes it is. 500CM. She's in love with that camera!

Frenchie
Road to hell is paved with good intentions. There are no politicians in hell.
Where is goose?
Goose was home. We didn’t have room for both and wanted Rooster to get some travel/camping experience on her own.
Skills, free time and a LOT of meth. Lol
