- In this video, Mama Goose & I take all three of our daughters on an Overlanding Adventure into Anza-Borrego Desert State Park. It was great to see them wheel their own Jeeps & watch them hone their off-roading skills.
We started our trip on the north side of Highway 78 & camped near Slot Canyon. We eventually made our way south & visited areas off of Fish Creek Wash, like the Wind Caves & Sandstone Canyon.
I hope everyone enjoys this video & are all healthy & safe!!!

It's really cool that you have all the fixings, just the right things for camping, we have an class C RV and we are always missing something, you are definitely well organized, and it's really wonderful that they let you cook it your way.
Thanks Gabriel...A lot of trial and error in getting organized...and I don't think it will ever be perfect...Constantly changing things up...but, hey that's, what lazy Saturdays at home are for...LOL
Great video!!!! We love going to Fish Creek Trails, there is so much to see and do there..... Glad you guys had a great time on this video. Awesome video! Visited AB in early October for the first time and camped at Culp Valley. I love it and can't wait to go back. Cheers!
Thanks Rey! AB is a very cool spot to explore this time of the year. Take care!
Love this video! Just came up on my recommendations and its awesome. But a Jeep hoping to do all these cool things but the fam not into it. I love it tho. Great job the entire trip!
Great vid as always. Me & my wife drove thru the canyon last week...with the rain that they got there was a few places where the sides had crumbled away causing mini avalanches it appeared...some looked like they could of been fatal. Love this time of year, Always a great time out there.
Thanks! Yes, its interesting to drive in the areas and see major parts of the wall that eroded away. I would not want to be around some of these areas when they fail, that's for sure!
Love Anza! Headed there this weekend with my daughter!
Have fun out there with your daughter Cement Taco. Happy Trails
Awesome video, looking forward to seeing more. Thanks
Thanks so much. And thanks for watching and leaving a comment. I appreciate it. Happy Trails

“DANIEL!” We’re fine!
Lol, you try so hard man! Another great video, might have to try that shrimp fried rice, looked awesome. We’re gonna be out there next weekend in Rockhouse Canyon can’t wait!
Hi John. Thanks for the continued support. These gals like to gang up on me...You definitely should try that recipe. It was easy and very tasty out on the trail! Have fun on your trip. Take care!
Awesome... Notice dad airs down their tires... I grew up in the 1970s off roading with my dad in his 1970 Blazer. Back then he had 31" Armstrong Tru Track (bias ply) on 10" wide wheels, & we did every major trail within a few thousand miles of cali... .. We would hit Anza Borrego on the way to Glamis... I later took my son 4x4ing in Borrego in my Blazer...
Sounds like you have some fond memories of the area. Something I'm doing now that I will also be able to look back on one day. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment!
Damn I miss Borrego I moved up here to Oregon in 2008 and the only thing I miss about San Diego is being so close to Borrego great video
Thanks Mark. Hope all is well there in Oregon. Happy Trails
I was out there with some friends. Came back with some scratches on my tacoma from the hill in the area by 29:20. Love your videos!

Thanks David
I hope your girls and Mama Goose know how much you spoil them!
I know they do! Because I constantly remind them. LOL. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment Natalie! Happy Trails
How cool. Funny video too.
Thank you!
Glad you didnt edit out the canopy flop lets me know this is for real hope it didnt break
Only the hinges broke...like they are designed to so no other major components break...
I was there a week before you guys and cut the trip short because it was too hot (88 degrees)at night. You went at the right time.
It was still a bit warm during the day, but being able to sleep with the windows open on the RTT & to have the slight breeze blow thru at night was just amazing and felt great!
Great video! Good times-
Glad you enjoyed it!
I used to do my flight training over Anza Borrego out of Thermal. I have a Gaia route planned I just gotta get out there and do it! Nice vid!
That’s the kind or trail recon we all could use in planning our routes. Now get out and do it! Thanks for the comment.
27 girls and the one dude cooks 😆 🤣 nice video!
Thanks 👍
Amazing🎉❤❤
Enjoyed the video!
Glad you enjoyed it!
This was dope! Glad I randomly came across this video. Family is everything! Greetings from Seattle 🙏 #NewSubscriber
Thanks for subbing June! And I'm glad you came across the channel as well! Take care up there in Seattle!! Happy Trails
Super fun!
Excellent video!
Glad you liked it!
Awesome time 👍
Just discovered you today and I am so jealous-you each have a rubicon. Gonna check out some of the trails you took. Going there mid January and if it's safe will try Sandstone Canyon.
Hi Barbara - Thanks for comment and watching. Anza is a beautiful area. January is a great time of year to visit, provided the weather has been good a few days before the trip and during the trip. You don't want to be caught in those canyons during a rainstorm as you eluded to. Happy Trails
Amazing!
Thank you! Cheers!
Great video as always. How many inches is the lift for the white 2 door jeep?
How can I find the trail? Planning on doing it but I don’t want to get lost.😂 nice video like always👍🏼
I from Brasil. I love the videos!
Thanks Alexandre. I love comments like this. So thank you and take care!
Halloween is probably the most popular time there! There is a great run haunted corkscrew trails, plane crashes with aliens and the whole nine yards!
21:28 Lol Love it ! lets get it right !
Cool vid!!
Thanks Carlos
I enjoy your Chanel I’m working on my cooking skills you make it look easy.
You can do it!
Love the light bar been seeing them lately where could I find that type
I like the clarity, beautiful scenery and excellent videoing. I also like the family being together and enjoying the great outdoors. You have very good camping equipment and plenty of food. What brand is your coffee grinder , looks pretty efficient. Thank you.
Thank you so much John! The coffee bean grinder was from Amazon. Its called the JavaPresse Coffee Grinder. Take care.
You should do a video on the equipment you ring and how you store it
Keep it up brother, nice video🤙🏽
Thanks Rodrigo, will do!
Nice Start - Lol. How do you like the Ikamper? Only dude out there, lol. Beautiful Family and you can see it was genuine. Nice to see that...
Hi Rick - Yah that was a rough start. LOL. We LOVE this RTT. Holds up well in the wind and offers a TON of room. Definitely more room than we need, but the extra real estate sure is nice. Thanks for the kind words and Happy Trails!
What a fun trip.
Was the first decent Diablo Decent? Is there an easy route around it for a fairly stock Forester to get down?
You guys eat better on the trail than i do at home.
I'm just getting into the offroading and desert scene. I have lived here my whole life and just starting to get my toes wet out in Anza Borrego
very nice, haven't been out there in a long time.
Thanks Juan
Great vid! I’m curious to know how the roof rack on your daughter’s yellow Jeep is holding up? I know in the install video it goes right over the hard top and it doesn’t have a support system similar to the Rhino backbone which has that internal frame on each side panel. Thanks!
Good question! I've had a lot of folks ask...and so far...so good. After a few more trips I'll do a review video with her and her Jeep so you guys can hear for yourselves. But for now, it appears to be an amazing value compared to the costs of other racks...
Another great video. I was just out there the week before. What table is tghat you are using? Keep them coming.
Big bear video shows table
Hi C Borza. It is made by Summit Mountain Gear and I bought it at REI. Folds up real small and it a great table at camp.
Check out Overland Vehicle System awnings. Only had to stake it down once and even when it blew over only the mount to the rack was slightly bent. They are located in Santa Fe Springs too.
I'm definitely going to look into them. Thanks for the tip!
@@395jnky Looks like my tip panned out from what I see on IG. Haha you will love it
How did you fix the broken plastic hinges so quick? Impressive!!
Here before youre famous!!!!!!!!!! Lol
Love your videos! Just subscribed. I'm a big dog person and take my dog everywhere but I thought dogs are not allowed on the trails in Anza Borrego?
That shrimp rice make me hungry.!!👌
So good
Very good video👏🏼
Than you. And thanks for watching and leaving a comment! Take care!
Sweet video man!!!! Was that steep hill Borrego Mountain wash?🧐 was debating going down it but It doesn’t look that bad in the video
Hi Jonathan. It was Borrego Mountain Wash. It wasn't too bad at all. I just wouldn't attempt to go back up it. Very soft and semi steep. Not to mention, the rest of the trail north was fun, so there really isn't a reason to try to go back up it! Thanks for watching!
Hey man, sick video! I got a 2wd 4runner on 33s, is there any cool places you suggest to camp at without too much deep sand?
Most of Anza you'll be fine with a 2WD to be honest. In the real soft softs, just be sure you're aired down and keep momentum. Enjoy!
You have a great Famly 👍👍 keep cooking
Will do..And thanks Hillbilly
You always have that one little girl hanging with dad, I love it. Mine does the same. Love the video even tho your a cowboy fan :P
That's my baby....who's not such a baby anymore...I love it when she helps me! Tough year to be a Cowboys fan...no need to pile on. LOL
Take care Benigno!
Love ur cooking
Really put the team on your back there but looked like a good time. Planning to go up to coyote flats at the end of the month if it doesnt snow, do you think it would be too late in the season and too cold or should i opt for somewhere out in the desert?
Was in Kennedy last weekend down to the teens at night.
Very good question. I was torn when planning this trip. I really wanted to head up the 395, but decided here instead. If you can squeeze in a trip up there go for it. Just keep an eye on the weather between now and then to be sure it doesn’t get too much snow....and as mentioned....it will be VERY COLD...so plan accordingly. Have fun regardless! Happy Trails where ever you decide to go...
