Been doing keto for around 6 months and feel so much better, have lost around 28lb and it wasn’t hard, just seem to fall off, now weigh around 125lb and cutting right down on those nasty carbs have improved my bathroom habits ( you know what I mean ) just wish I’d known about this way of eating earlier.

I believe you need to do what feels good to you; we are all very different. I thrive on fruits and vegetables. When I used to eat animal products (20 years ago) my cholesterol was 350, after being vegan for 3 months, it went down to 140. I have been raw vegan for many years, never had any health issues and I feel awesome. I will probably die of a heart attack if I ate the way you do. So please, be careful when sharing your diet. I am very happy that you found a diet that works for you, but that does not mean it is going to work for others. Also, it is my opinion that people feel better on a diet not for what they eat but for what they do NOT eat (i.e., process foods). Best, Maria.

I am 29 and have PCOS and IBS. I am trying a high protein low carb (starch) diet. I have a LOT of vegetables but I stir fry them so there not as difficult to digest. But I eat beef & eggs for breakfast and dinner. I'm worried it'll negatively impact my heart health but I don't know how else to control my hunger. I feel my stomach churning 24/7. I don't consume wheat, and limit my dairy intake. I try to ensure my sugars are low and only consume water or tea. Im trying to limit my starch carb intake to where it's only once a day, maybe rice or potato. I feel like I can't lose weight for the life of me. I've been in the gym 4 days a week, too.

I had issues too, but mine involved chronic burping. Went to doctors, spent lots of money but didn't get many answers though my gastro did discover that I had developed Barrett's esophagus. He prescribed Pantoprazole and I took it for nearly a year, but was still burping like crazy. That diagnoses motivated me to take matters into my own hands. Because of you, your story and your links to doctors like Ken Berry, I stopped the medication and began to transition to carnivore in August. Most of my issues have resolved and if I stop eating nuts and drinking an occasional glass of wine, I'm pretty sure the rest will follow. I feel more empowered, I have lost weight and I feel great! Thank you, so much, Lisa! Please keep sharing your story! ✨

I'd like to leave a small note for younger viewers - being very low carb can have a negative effect on your hormonal cycle if you are in your reproductive years. Im 26 and went very low carb for a few months and lost my period for a whole year (even after I introduced more carbs, it still took months until I got my period again). Truth is, I felt great during this time but it taught me that being in ketosis might not be the most optimal fuel source for those who are in their reproductive years.
A lot of the research on fasting and ketosis is usually, and unfortunately, only done in men (or male mice) who do not have the same hormonal cycles. So just make sure you listen to your body, assess your current state and adjust your strategies to feel best ❤️
A resource I would recommend on this topic - a short clip from Dr. Peter Attia (he focuses on longevity, he is fantastic): "Peter's thoughts on ketosis and fasting for females (AMA #3)"
I will probably go back to eating low carb in my later years (in menopause), as it really made me feel great 😃 but while in my reproductive years, I'm focusing on having moderate cards and building muscle

Carnivore is very similar to Keto. Constipation is always an issue. How do you get your fiber intake with no fruit or vegetables? Always curious how others manage?

Meat is very fibrous and has never caused me constipation. The fiber theory is a marketing ploy by manufactured food companies.

Hi Lisa! I totally get what you're saying except that my daughter went vegan. She gets a lot of looks from people when she says that. I told her to say plant based! Lol!! The thing is she lost over 20 pounds eating this way and feels great.

I went vegan last October and it’s been wonderful. I eat plenty of starchy foods like rice, tortillas, brown rice pasta, tons of beans. I don’t calorie count and am 4 pounds away from my goal. The secret is to eat whole grain carbs and NO OIL! I’m so happy your daughter is learning at a young age what will give her great health.

I would love seeing your videos on "feeling awesome eating lifestyle" aka carnivore...lol I lost 60 pounds last year (because of you being so encouraging, i decided if Lisa can feel and look amazing why cant I) THANK YOU FOR THAT!! and I feel better but honestly still not like I expected. I am happy at 145. I am just maintaining now. I did WW, it worked for me BUT I have IBS and gluten intolerance so my dreams of feeling amazing didn't happen( i do feel better) I eat a routine diet due to my gut issues and I don't have a lot of time to cook. I have thought about going this route for a few months to see how it works. I'm afraid I will get so bored with just meat. Anyway we love you and so appreciate you and your content. 💗

Hi Lisa I only seem to comment on your carnivore videos even though I've watched ALL of them since 2009 or so. You talking about carnivore changed my life. Next month will be my 1 year carnivore anniversary and my life has changed too. My fibroids are half the size and don't interfere with my life anymore. I've lost weight, fixed my insulin resistance, improved my eyesight and balanced my hormones. Keep talking about carnivore. It is what it is. When I run into people that I haven't seen for a while and they ask I tell them I'm doing meat based keto but honestly it's none of their business!

Sometimes people give me negative comments about my way of eating but I just don't care anymore. I've never felt better so I'm tuning them out!

Hello Lisa, I've been doing carnivore a few months now. I had blood work done recently and my cholesterol was pretty high. I'm doing the research and finding that after a certain period of time it all levels out. I was wondering how that worked out for you. I watch Dr. Ken Berry and he said not to worry about high cholesterol. I decided to go carnivore after watching you, and I feel so good and have no regrets. Thank you for opening up to us, and allowing us to watch the process. Love all your videos, you are inspiring and so kind. Can't wait for your "capsule" food choices.

I don't what you call your diet, if it works who cares. I've been on Keto but have found too much meat makes me feel ill, so I mostly look at carbs, and also sodium because I have High Blood pressure. I still need to reach my goal but I like that fact that I'm now at least a size 14 rather than a size 18W.

Thank you for sharing your journey. I was experiencing the exact same issues you have had. I started with keto and followed that for about a year. I felt amazing, lost a few pounds, even though I didn’t need much and that was not my reason. My stomach issues were pretty much non existent. I went for my yearly blood work and wellness visit with my doctor. My cholesterol levels shot up to over 300. My doctor told me to immediately get off of red meat, cheese, all dairy and switch to whole grains, fruits, veggies, lean proteins etc. It freaked me out because I’ve never had an issue with that so I did as I was told, and here I am right back where I was with IBS symptoms. I’m in the process of going back to keto with the intent to go carnivore. Just curious if anyone had been told this by their doctor and continued with keto/carnivore. Having a hard time finding a physician who thinks outside of the box. Anyone have any experience with this? I’d love some feedback.

Keto is not intended for long term regime. My friend who is a body builder/certified nutritionist said that keto is a short term thing that most pro athletes use to boost energy and metabolism during their in-season games and competitions. Anyone that take on keto must get blood work done before going on keto and under doctor supervision during keto to monitor progress. Especially, those with heart disease or any other heart condition. One gal I know went on keto ended up having a heart attack. Her doctor told her to get off keto. It’s not suitable for anyone with heart condition. Like Lisa was saying everyone is different. Hope you find your right match.

My doctor told me my recent lab work is "perfect" the best it's been in twenty years. Then my dr told me to keep it up. I feel I switched my age around to 26. I've been carnivore for 8mos/ was keto for years before. On keto, most numbers were ok but could be better. I figured it was genetics. Then, I switched to 0carb carnivore. I have lab work to back up my great progress and an informed Dr. Even with thyroid disease, I feel great- tons of energy, no fatigue, my arthritis is gone, clear thinking, great sleep etc... I'd suggest finding another doctor, who is more updated. Red Meat is NOT the cause of heart disease. It did not exist before processed food and "veg" oils. High insulin levels harden the arteries, create high cholesterol- not red meat. No carbs keep insulin down. Please check into Dr. Ken Berry, Dr. Jason Fung!

I wanted to be able to do carnivore because have issues with veggies. But done GI mapping and found out I don’t digest proteins well. I have extreme fatigue, nausea when eat protein, extreme dry skin, etc. So working on all of it with supplements. Everyone is definitely different and need to watch their gut issues when trying different things.

I have sensitivity to aspirin (salicylic acid). Lots of fruits/veggies have salicylic acid like dark greens, broccoli, apples, blueberries, etc. I had bloating, fatigue, dizziness, constipation, nausea. I eat low salicylic veggies/fruits with lots of beef, chicken & fish. I feel great, don't crave food & am a steady size 4/6. Glad you are doing this, Lisa! Thanks! ♥️♥️

I was on the carnivore/keto diet for 7wks & lost 7lbs unfortunately getting sick with Omni Covid ( just a mild case) but that derailed me. During that short time I was amazed at how after 2wks I had no desire for sweets, baked goods carbs in general. I do notice intestinal distress when I’d eat similar things that cause Lisa digestive issues too. At 52 it’s really encouraging knowing that I don’t have to accept & give into my middle age abdomen weight gain! I will get back on the keto band wagon, I don’t want insulin resistants changing my figure anymore!
