Running this in my car’s speakers while I clean it for the Pooja, realising I don’t really care about the Windsor but rather how do really passionate people view product. Wishing the team happy festivities 🎉
I keep saying this to my friends. We need Bharat NCAP to step in like Europe NCAP has to mandate physical buttons for basic functions. Taking my eyes off the road for basic functions is a very real risk and this needs to be addressed. I mean, Tesla did it because they semi-automated the driving experience and one could afford to take their eyes off the road. But this worrying trend is a ticking time-bomb.
its a evolving trend... All the top brand chinese EVs are moving away from buttons, but if safety is a concern, you could just use the VOICE commends... Voice commends are getting better everyday, its just that i feel a little awkward some times...
Yes but you have to engage the self driving mode for it to work no? If you're controlling it and you take your eyes off because some person who thinks its appropriate for gen z designs it like that, things aren't changing. I mean could they have not given controls for the screen on the steering like motorcycles do to cycle through the menus? I dont get why every "new" product has ui design so bad that you have to get intimate with the screen as youre driving, makes no sense. Lets not even talk about vw making ac controls a touch based control, that's a whole other mess. Why can't car companies understand that if their specialisation is not in software, they shouldn't try to go extra and instead design something that just works even if its simplistic? It saves cost at the expense of making everyone's experience worse. Car screens are there to display info and let you change some settings. Motorcycle screens aren't different. I'd love if the car industry takes notes from the motorcycles, and from the ones who have a simple and minimal ui. I hope ev companies realise that there's a difference between making a dash for the car and literally making a cheapskate version of android with a nice background wallpaper.
@@fireinmyblood i agree, but to me its just laziness. This is just an extra step which doesnt feel like work as you're just talking. Its a win win at first, but this is done provided the system works, which isn't how it is. Its like make problems, sell features. I dont use google assistant on my phone because i just dont find how it's of any use, idk why I'd use voice commands in my car either when its just slower. Just make a simple menu, not a flashy one in which most of the icons go untouched, since its just for the looks.
MG came in India with a Car Named HECTOR…. MG is a British brand and the name of the car is actually dangerous because Hector was the first, most capable, highest equipped BattleShip in which the East India company first came to India☠️💀. Again no hate, I really love MG cars, but are they trying to loot us again, but they make vfm cars…
TIL that Hector isn't just a common Latino name. With the Windsor, now I'm realizing that the Comet is the only car in the MG lineup that doesn't have a British (or at least British sounding) name.
My Friend owns a tata Nexon EV and this summer in delhi his ac wasn’t working because the AC was focused on cooling the battery as it was overheating in summers. He couldn’t use the car for 2-3 months and had to use his fathers car. This is common across a lot of EVs and can be a deal breaker for many.
Yes, I have also experienced this in Nexon, when after running for 50 odd kilometres the Battery cooling Fan starts running max and the AC just stops working, Have to multiple stops after every hour excluding charge times in Summer
1. Windsor needs driver profiles. Each driver creates a profile in their name, and sets his/her preferences from the screen the first few times they drive the car. Could also be done via an MG ap on the phone. Then, the driver just selects his profile and the car sets everything as per his choice. Should be cheap to implement in a car that's all software controlled already. e.g. seat position, ORVM position, screen colours, mode of driving, regen, AC temperature and fan speeds, favourite radio station or playlist, position of the glass roof cover etc... everything that can be set. It will dramatically reduce the need to train every driver in the family about the difficult-to-use touchscreen controls. 2. Windsor will make sense with a 50KWH battery pack + UV cut glass on all windows and windshield. With the larger battery/range, it could easily pull sales from petrol cars. The additional 12KWH on top of 38KWH would have made a price difference of hardly 1Lac. Which means MG can do a well-equipped big car EV under 15Lacs! That should scare the hell out of Tata Motors, Suzuki, and Hyundai's EV plans in India because it shows MG has a major cost advantage. Probably, BYD too. 3. The reason MG did not bring the 50KWH battery pack on the Indian Windsor is because MG wanted to protect the 50KWH ZS EV. A 50KWH Windsor will take away most of ZSEV sales! But that is bad, short-term thinking on MG's part. The ZSEV is already old now, the new one has been launched overseas. The new ZSEV should be bumped up to 60KWH+ to compete with the BYD Atto3 (and get that Plug-in hybrid to India!). EVs are a fast-developing market. You cannot have your EV specs sitting in the same place for 4-5 years. I think the Windsor will have the 50KWH version next year, at which point most buyers of the Windsor38 will be sorely disappointed.
man this is why I love yall. The conversation about how we as customers have to be aware about how quick value of EVs can change, is something I dont think anybody else talks about in this space. Thank you
Great video as always. As a zs owner with 21k km given the price cuts & expected battery upsizing, if you are in a market for EV, never pay full price for any EVs, always always wait for price cuts & never fall for dealer arm twisting tactics like compulsory accessories & insurance.
My Uncle bought Nexon EV LR 40 KWh version for Rs.19.5 Lakhs just two months ago, and just a month ago on the eve of the Windsor launch, Tata dropped the prices by 3 Lakh rupees…and the exact same version now costs Rs.16 Lakhs…my Uncle got furious, he has visited showroom more than dozen times now for getting the discount…Tata is not at all interested in their case…and my Uncle is very polite and did not even raise his voice even once and Tata sales team still tried to throw out my Uncle out of their showroom 😅…his car has already depreciated more than 25% in 2 months time…and now even the 45 KWh top model costs Rs.18.5 Lakhs, 1 Lakh less then my Uncles car…as someone whos hard earned money goes to waste, you can imagine his frustration…😔…!
I mean this is something that always happens. Even with big/small electronics, they get cheaper during festivals or just randomly. This happened with Jimny too recently.
Unfortunately it goes both ways! Got the Jimmy when it dropped and already have the ZS as a primary car whose prices dropped by 2.6L as well. Your Uncle should just enjoy the car and forget about depreciation.
A few things that can be added to the car reviews as an SOP - - Noise in the cabin from the road - Is the AC loud/okay/surprisingly silent? - Visibility from the IRVM (lot of these sloping rear pillars have poor visibility) - Thickness of the front pillars (I have a 2018 Nexon and it's A pillars are very thick and affect visibility)
Booked a windsor when it was announced last month even before the prices came out. Have to say I had my reservations about MG as a company offering considering their past products, but seeing this car in person and experiencing it firsthand in the showroom is a different feeling I have got from any other product from MG. I think its a great value even with the smaller battery. I am heavy traveller, usually travelling 120 Km everyday between 2 cities for work so even with the realistic range figures i think its not gonna be a problem since i will be using it mainly for work travel and i can top it up anytime in downtime i get at work or overnight at home. For long distance travel i can use my ice powered cars to do the job. You guys missed the part about free public charging which could be a good thing to use when you spot a charger you can use from the app MG recommends you to use when you get the car. Its not much but hey its something adding to the value. Nobody is stopping you to use a paid charger if you think thats better. Regarding the buttons, i agree it can be an issue but in the overall scheme of things i think it can be learned. This will be mainly driven by my driver so yeah training period will be there but i think its gonna do the job. Thanks for the insights guys, i am planning to go ahead with the purchase on diwali :)
British Castle suggestions for new MG vehicle names: Buckingham EV - Urban hatchback Blenheim EV - Estate car Canarvon EV - C-segment sedan Sandringham EV - SUV version of Windsor Harlech EV - electric version of Gloster
24:14 You guys didn't notice that many of the parts in the Windsor EV are not India ready and are directly fitted from it's left hand drive versions. The physical key hole is provided in the co-driver door, music controls in the right side and cruise control in the left side of the steering wheel etc. came as an after effect of this.
I am thinking that it’d look better if you guys could add some videos of the cars that were test driven and maybe communicate in background with few interior videos and exteriors just to make the presentation better. Have been wanting to say this for a long time because most of the reviews have the car for long but here its reverse yet since we love your content, it’d be a bit more interesting if we have pictures, videos. Just saying! 🙂
The biggest pet peeve about this car is the over Relaince on the touch screen. As someone who travels 100kms daily between 2 cities, I'm so looking forward to a good normalish EV. Wont touch Tata due to the horror stories all over the internet.
So you would rather trust a Chinese vehicle with the possibility of data leakage of indians instead of an Indian manufacturer that is clearly punching way above it's weight to give excellent value for customers money... It's people like you who hold back indian manufacturing. Shame....
the touch is okish... in the rare case it hangs, there is a power button on the left side of the steering wheel... U can hold it down for 20sec while driving, it will reboot the screens...
For EV buyers the major advice would be to throw the idea of resale out of the window. The newer cars will be more powerful, will have more range, better features and yet would be cheaper than today's variants. This can't be helped, no matter who the manufacturer is
buy it, drive it to the ground, at end of life, repurpose battery as home power backup I'd imagine even degraded 40kWh battery will be far far more valuable than say E10 compatible car today which will be almost rusted and wrecked by next 2 decades due to E20+ blends
I'm surprised with MG but really not surprised in the larger sense. The marketing gimmicks just dont stop accross industries. "Battery as a Service" is just a mean to fool people. As a lawyer I can't but think there should be a law against these marketing gimmicks. Measuring bootspace till the roof and calling a loan as a service are only the tip of the iceberg. I wont be surprised MG just improves the UV protection on the windows (fixing something that's a mistake on their end) and calling it, "the all new MG Windsor EV, now with added UV protection". When you can just let your product speak (which looks like they could have given the car itself seems like a great product), I'm not sure why the gimmicks are needed. Thank you for calling it what it is, Battery as a Loan. I'll be expecting Nirmala tai to knock on MG's door saying BaaS idhar hai toh GST kidhar hai?
@@motorinc Did already twice! Since new work role means meeting new people and of-course talking about our ways of commute. :D 1 laugh and 1 eye roll so far.
BYD has launched a 7 seater EV at around 26 lakhs. BYD starts flexing muscles and the value structure changes again rapidly..! What a time to be in the market for EVs…! ❤
@@motorinc my family wants a 7 seater and I am in love with Sedans..! So in my house, I always push the car buying decision to next year..! 😅 honestly, I am eagerly waiting for a nice sedan EV with a real world range of 400 kms and at around 20 lakhs..! 😊
One more thing, could you please also add more about the quality of music system they are coming with? Also how easy or diificult would be such modifications on the car, also would it void the warrenty or not ?
i spoke to the dealers, they dont want to customers making any modifications since its a EV and electrical fires is a rare possibility... as for the Music system, its very average, the sub woofer in the back helps a lot... but if u replace that with a spare tyre, then the MUSIC system will suck balls...
Liked the way Karthikeya being honest and expressed doubts on AC and the Glass quality, functionality and his health condition on the review day unlike others who ignore these points.
what I feel about EVs is the "value-factor" is just like smartphones in the 25k to 35k price segment. If you buy a new smartphone in this price segment, in the next 6 months it would be superseded by something better from a competitor or even the same company.
@@darshil1620 Great question.. I believe RTO is only 2000 rupees and is irrespective of ex showroom. But insurance should come down. Also @motorinc. Can you please do a comparison of the EMI cost between buying the car on loan fully and buying the car on loan in 2 parts (Shell+Baas)?
@@BharathAravamuthan According to another review, nothing changes regarding RTO or insurance. Which makes sense as in reality it is not Battery as a Service, but Battery as a Loan. When you buy on loan, RTO and insurance doesnt change. I hate the way that MG is trying to fool customers regarding this. All for some marketing buzz.
What a detailed review !!. I am seeing your channel for the first time and I am 100% impressed. I am looking at buying a Windsor EV and have seen many reviews. The perspective on the depreciation due to the evolving EV market is what nobody has told so far. It is a clear eye opener. Great Job !
Subscribed! Just didn’t know how an hour went by. Very engaging discussion. Never bored even for a second. It was like a movie. Guess you guys should consider making one 😊
I dont skip ur videos ever but just psychologically i am missing those chapters. And just a feedback in general for all the content- can we increase the overall sound level of the videos?
Yes. Although I understand why we don't need the sound to be blaring like in most other review channels, a tad bit higher would be very helpful. That's what helps us to listen to you while on chores.
Help me understand what I am missing. BaaS is a loan, the financier's expected return on the money lent to buy the battery is 14.5% (don't believe this was mentioned in the video, I was informed of this at the showroom). Now if I am getting auto loans at ~9% from banks for the car, why would I opt for 14.5% from the nbfc financiers here. Essentially what they have changed the is the fixed monthly interest payouts to payouts linked to usage of the car. But at the time of sale of the car, I am told we are expected to close out the loan balance with the financiers who expect their 14.5% IRR. So, bottom line i am expected to pay 5% more for capital in exchange for variability in monthly payouts. This tradeoff does not seem well balanced.
@@motorinc I dont think that it will vary in the users favor. All 3 loan options mentioned in the video will take their cut regardless of how much you run the car.
@MotorInc I think you forgot speaker's. Even if they are 9 speaker set of infinity but it doesn't sound that great either. 1. BIGGER BATTERY 50KW 2. UV CUT GLASS 3. SUN SHADES in the back. 4. Remove Jio UI. They are the worst. 5. Buttons for headlight/orvm 5. Give option for speaker's/ seat option's (Some people need good padded seat) 6. TOP variant with no moon roof are a must.
i feel, get the Punch if u live alone and are ok making trips to the tata service center often and get less than half promised range... otherwise Windsor for a bigger family for city and small trips with 100% better reliability... In any case the Nexon is the better option than the Punch, at this price point...
@@anandthepilot 100% agree, the base variant is very loaded... But for me i just loved the moonroof and most importantly the base and mid dont come with a 7.4kw charger... i feel thats a must for me...
So last month i was deciding between the windsor, nexon and curvv… I ruled out nexon as it was built on an old ev 1.0 platform, and it's a 1 year old (2023) mode compared to the curvv and windsor. Also the top end model is still pricier than the windsor's top end model. Now small things like automated adjusting seats, cup holders etc. were missing and the fit and finish persisted. Plus the horror stories of nexon customers made me sit back. The only pros for me were range and size. Yup my family likes small vehicles. Also nexon 2.0 platform is coming late next year. So knowing that I decided to skip the nexon. Now between the curvv and windsor, even though curvv is built on an ev 2.0 platform, because of the coupe design the space at back was a mess. Plus again, back pockets, cup holders were missing along with some fit and finish issues… but i have to say the curvv as machine is superb and really amazing to drive and the range is so massive that u can drive it in sport mode all the way. Adas and range were the two factors which made me think abt the curvv at 23.5 on road but when i compared it to the windsor… mahn the first thing was the price difference. For 16.5 on road i was getting almost all functions and features similar to currv and more, except the range and adas. Also the fit and finish was so much better and boy the space at the back, superb. All because of the ev 3.0 platform resulting to a long wheelbase further translating to that spacious cabin…So I decided to go for the windsor letting go of Adas and range was not an issue for me as i do city driving most of the time. Even though the windsor has the button problem, huge learning curve there but the aggressive pricing somewhat swayed me away. I still thought about considering curvv once again but some of horror stories by customers with Tata cars really made me go for the windsor
I wanted to say this for a long time, but didn't want to sound like a boomer, but my dad was watching the video & said they are explaining cars & bikes really well, but cannot concentrate on the video, your editing is extremely fast, there are toooo many cuts & images or videos you show just jump too fast, the more I saw from my dad's advanced age, I felt he was right.. even for small yes, Mmm, camera switches to shumi/Karthik & vice versa, maybe it is necessary, but don't have an abrupt cut, maybe a transition.. Excellent video as always bros😊👌🤩
Guys, Lifetime warranty is lifetime warranty of the part i.e. if the manufacturer said lifetime warranty of the part is 10 years then post 10 years you are out of lifetime warranty. As per MG, I think the battery lifetime warranty is 10 years.
It was covered well as usual and the final summary was 100%. I just visited MG and did test drive windsor, few observations from my side 1) car is well built both from interior and exterior. 2) 50w DC charger is supported only in top end as per sales person. 3) It took me some time to understand how to reduce media volume, funny but yes once you get used to it it may be easy. 4) The steering was light almost toy like at least in low speed which i did. Me being from mechanical power steering it is more so 😅. 5) As per sales guy warranty for battery is 8 years/ 1.5L if you don't go for BAAS, not sure if this is correct. 6) Overall a spacious car. 7) On road price is almost 1L more than what is published in BLR quite contrast to a petrol car.
So I actually went out and checked the windsor, there are some really easy tweaks they can make to the UX to improve the experience. Might redesign this and put out a blog post.
Booked the top end (Essence) and waiting for delivery but I was looking forward to your review. Thank you for going into the nitty gritties. Absolutely agree regarding the UI/UX. Hoping this will be improved with some software updates. During the test drive, I used Hello MG a few times and it worked perfectly. It is not always necessary to use the screen all the time. Most things like ORVM settings are generally not changed in the middle of the drive.
Oh man what a perfect combination of intelligent humor and classic tech review !! I have enjoyed this conversation throughout till the end. I have AMG .....😂😂😂 You got me there rofl. God bless keep it up guys ❤
When the Regen kicks in does it turn on the Break lights.? Observed this in Comet EV, the Regen doesn't turn on the Break lights and on the heavy setting it's proper breaking and the Car behind me didn't have idea that I was slowing down. Regen.. "Regenerative Breaking" in EVs should always turn on the Break lights for safety
Commenting midway, though I am not so much of a car enthusiast, I just happened to be in China for work purpose last week. A friend there is hunting for a new EV these days, Tesla and a brand called Li, are on his list. We checked out both one evening, the 15.6 inch screen is a common thing across variants in Li. There are 3 of those screens, two in front - one for driver and one for passenger. Also one folds down (to open) for the passengers at the back from the top like an airline screen. Most of the software (UI and UX) are very robust it appeared, most importantly the Chinese now talk to the car and do not use any screens (I asked why, my friend said we don't want to touch the screen unless necessary for some reason). Tesla there seemed like a barebones car... considering this 36L something on road car had features equivalent to those in BMW X5. Tesla model Y was one screen (12 inches i suppose) and nothing else in the entire car. EVs in India have a long way to go to even get close to what EVs are sold there. 500-600 km is a common range per charge and EV SUVs (proper ones) cost anywhere between 15 to 40 lacs.. nothing more. Quality is unbelievable. Engine hai hi nahi toh kya baat karein.. even I could feel like I could analyze everything... features, materials and battery range.. Period. Only sharing something interesting I experienced.
Thanks for sharing @TarunChoudhry, certainly helps. We agree for the most part! But Indian EVs have to figure out the value proposition in a different way because features isn't it.
Great show, always love watching these detailed videos. Few questions: 1. The dealer in Mumbai mentioned that Vidyut is available only in Tier 2 cities and not in Mumbai. Not sure if that’s factual? And if so, why? 2. Any insights on the 3 year - 60% buy back. What happens with the remaining ‘loan’ on the battery, do we have to pay it off before we return?
if you live in a extremely warm place, consider skipping the moon roof and tinting the glasses till legal limits... You might not feel like you in manali but the fuel savings will keep u smiling...
I dont own a car or a bike i just have my activa and still for some reason i just love listening to both of you discuss a car or a bike (btw idk anything about cars) but due to motorinc i have started developing a liking towards motorcycles but still there is time for me to buy my own till then will be enjoying them vicariously through motorinc ❤ Love you guys hope you achieve all the success. ❤
Dad’s been asking me to get him an MG Comet, but I can’t shake the safety concerns going from his old Nexon to something that compact. The Comet just doesn’t give me that confidence. I remember you guys talking about how active safety and driving better are more important than passive safety like NCAP ratings and airbags, and that makes sense, but somehow, when it comes to my dad, I can’t apply the same logic. After hearing the podcast, the Windsor seems like a better fit. I think it’s time to get him in for a test drive!
@@kashisharora1581 Yes. They test the worst case (heaviest vehicle) which is the turbo petrol At variant. Same process is followed for every other manufacturer as long as the safety spec is the same across all variants. 6 airbags, esp and seatbelt reminders are standard across all variants.
13:24 Schumi's English is perfect. But slips when he needs it to 😂. How can you use A before something that sounds like a vowel? It is always going to be I HAVE AN MG!
Such a great explanation about those loans, and to me the one's who declines the good product in he name of deshbhakti n all are the one's who tweets from their smartphones which is either assembled or manufactured in China having a flag as wallpaper. No hard feelings for them but using the brain is common in all countries if I am not wrong... Anyways great review, one thing I would love to see is, whenever the S3 of thisConnect is live, please bring one if ur friends or some other experts ( whoever that person is it depends on u ), cause I am pretty sure you guys had/have great automobile journalist/enthusiasts in your life.
1) BAAS charges is based on cibil score is it fixed or dynamic. I mean based cibil score is it going to increase or decrease every quarter or every year. 2) How much extra cost as interest roughly if car is not purchased on loan and BAAS is subscribed.
Great first drive impressions as always. I agree with Shumi that it’s not truly a Battery as a service and is actually a loan . One thing to note is I don’t think MG wants you to own this car for longer than 3 years because they did mention a 60% buyback plan post 3 years (I remember them mentioning it during launch). So, to me it looks like a second/third car for city runaround.
That was a lovely episode. Your pointers about the range, slight AC shortcomings and uncertainty in future value helped me push out my decision to switch to an EV for another 3-4 years. However I am thoroughly impressed with what I have seen and heard of the the Windsor EV and will be rooting for its success and bigger battery variants. Now I decided to purchase a used Honda City (sub 5 yr) as a filler until i eventually move to a brand new EV. Guess which of your other episodes helped me arrive at this decision😅. Keep up with the great work!
1 hour video - Initially, this made me think if I will get my ROI out of it? But i must acknowledge, I thoroughly enjoyed the episode.. Keep up the good work of being honest and sharing transparent facts
We need to make and emphasize a point which was missing. All these new launches should take a clue from KIA for the back seat window sun shades. MG has done a great job on Windsor with a specious and shiny cabin. All they had to do is make it adjustable with sun shades and the problem of excess heat in Indian conditions will go away with such a simple thing. BTW, this is for everyone including Tata, Suzuki and Mahindra. Another point was the lack of physical buttons for basic things, but it has been well discussed.
If this car had a real world range of 350+ then it would have been of tremendous value. I hope Indian manufacturers are taking notes on how to deliver value in small things as well.
Thanks for such an entertaining and enlightening episode. Love the humour attached to a careful and detailed analysis. Kudos! Could you help me understand the '3-year - 60% Buyback' program. Is it only applicable on purchase of the car with battery pack, or can this program be clubbed with BaaS?
Hello guys! I’ve booked top model of Windsor and awaiting delivery update. My main purpose is office commute from Faridabad to Gurgaon. Should I go ahead or wait/explore other options? Please note that this would be my 1st EV car. Till date I’ve driven petrol cars only.
Hullo NS, the only thing we ask you to check - air conditioning. Because in the summers that will be a serious challenge. Also, if the range is enough for you then you don’t need to wait. But, you can expect a bigger battery pack version too.
Amazing conversations. I just wait for your takes on every vehicle. Absolutely love it. Would like your comments on this. I have a seltos GTX Diesel 2023 model. My daily city running is 80-90 kms. Should I go for this Windsor ev?
Really miss the Spotify uploads from you. I could listen to the podcasts with my device locked. And now, should buy RUclips premium to do so. Yes, I do understand that you can’t implement the membership part on those platforms, so yes, I have to deal with it now or have to pay RUclips for it. Btw, great video. Keep this going🎉
great video guys! Addressing Elephant / OG not in the room…doing away with buttons this is very TESLA esque…their benchmark Tesla model 3 don’t have any stalks whatsoever, Even for “PRNDL”!everything is on the UI. This may be the way forward from most EV manufacturers legacy or startup automakers. 48:59 shumi is right, NIO a Chinese EV giant offers users to choose a subscription plan that suits their needs, selecting from various battery capacities and swap frequencies. When the battery runs low, users visit a NIO Power Swap Station, where the battery is automatically replaced with a fully charged one. But this requires a lot of swap station.
We are big fans of your RUclips channel and all shows. Sumi's sense of humour is amazing. Great taunts to Britishers in this show.May be unintended. But surely they deserve those.
In my head, BAAS should be a monthly rent depending on km driven, and I never own the battery, if the battery goes bad and efficiency decreases, brand will change it for free of cost and again I'll be paying the same amount as rent. What I mean to say is I want to pay the rent for the battery and forget about all the maintainance and replacement part of it.
fabric seats are much better than leatherette or leather seats (in my opinion obviously), they are easy to clean, hold you well, and all those things. I just wanna say that, why don't brands give "good" fabric seats with ventilation as an option for the top spec?
- I test drove it, and with the seats being the way they are, I think they would work just fine. Not like you're anyway going to be spending long hours in the car because of the range! - I found the drive modes to be very well calibrated. Eco+ for city traffic, Normal for regular use, and Sport for the highway. And you can customize one of the steering buttons just for switching these. - Spare tyre is coming in as an accessory, which I definitely plan to get. - Any after-market solution for the car windows to to make them more UV-friendly? (except getting blinds which I don't want to) Like are there any legal UV-only sun-films without the visibility tint? - Voice-controlled commands do not work for the sunroof which is a big miss. I hope they can implement it with an OTA update. It is possibly the only thing I would want to use voice for, because the sunroof menu is at least 4 clicks away. - Oh, one really big miss. There's no volume control on the screen!! As a passenger, you CANNOT adjust the music volume from the screen anywhere. Only the steering has controls. WHAT?

Same. Don't like EVs. I'm watching it because of these two folks, especially Shumi's humour.
Heya KS! That’s an excellent point!
Agreed
its a evolving trend...
I'm a doctor and I feel your podcasts are like a therapy to car enthusiasts.
Thank you very much @SuperVengal! Glad to hear that...😊
Doctor shab totally agree 💯
MG came in India with a Car Named HECTOR…. MG is a British brand and the name of the car is actually dangerous because Hector was the first, most capable, highest equipped BattleShip in which the East India company first came to India☠️💀. Again no hate, I really love MG cars, but are they trying to loot us again, but they make vfm cars…
Thanks for the take A! 😆
The British also did vfm clothes which took the indian weavers out of business. Then the whole swadeshi movement started.
TIL that Hector isn't just a common Latino name. With the Windsor, now I'm realizing that the Comet is the only car in the MG lineup that doesn't have a British (or at least British sounding) name.
That's the whole point, they know Indians are more likely to buy British car rather than Chinese car.
Next time, Shumi must do a car review. And once that happens, i promise, car manufacturers are gonna change, only for him ;)
We’re game!

Thanks KA for sharing that! Interesting! Wouldn’t have imagined that.
I own a ev in ahmedabad. Temperature go till 48 degrees. Ad works completely fine. Better than the kushaq i used to own.
Yes, I have also experienced this in Nexon, when after running for 50 odd kilometres the Battery cooling Fan starts running max and the AC just stops working, Have to multiple stops after every hour excluding charge times in Summer
Likely to be a Nexon/Tata Motors EV problem. Their EVs have all sorts of issues that other company's EVs don't have.
@@kashisharora1581 I own a nexon ev bt i have never had this problem with AC during peak summer.
1 & 2 - agreed! 3 - probably they wanted to spring another surprise.
man this is why I love yall. The conversation about how we as customers have to be aware about how quick value of EVs can change, is something I dont think anybody else talks about in this space. Thank you

15.6" means a standard laptop screen, now the only size that is left is a 43" TV.
It’s happening! 3-4 screens!
Haha 😂
Lol😂
that will happen when fully autonomous car will be there. Transparent screen windshields, you can either your road at front or tv or both

Great video as always. As a zs owner with 21k km given the price cuts & expected battery upsizing, if you are in a market for EV, never pay full price for any EVs, always always wait for price cuts & never fall for dealer arm twisting tactics like compulsory accessories & insurance.
Hullo TEM! Good to have your suggestion as an owner. 👍🏽
Hey AD, sorry to hear that. That is the problem with EVs right now.
Unfortunately it goes both ways! Got the Jimmy when it dropped and already have the ZS as a primary car whose prices dropped by 2.6L as well. Your Uncle should just enjoy the car and forget about depreciation.
Toyota Hilux is on Rs 11 lakhs discount. Imagine the anger of previous owners 😂
Jimny, xuv700 , safari all got lakhs of discount..
A few things that can be added to the car reviews as an SOP -
- Noise in the cabin from the road
- Is the AC loud/okay/surprisingly silent?
- Visibility from the IRVM (lot of these sloping rear pillars have poor visibility)
- Thickness of the front pillars (I have a 2018 Nexon and it's A pillars are very thick and affect visibility)
Thanks Amit for the suggestions.
Congratulations @rishabhjain1307! We hope that you have lots of fun with it... And do share your own test drive experience if and when you have one.

The biggest pet peeve about this car is the over Relaince on the touch screen. As someone who travels 100kms daily between 2 cities, I'm so looking forward to a good normalish EV. Wont touch Tata due to the horror stories all over the internet.
We get it! The lack of buttons is an unnecessary frustration.

This can't be helped, no matter who the manufacturer is
Exactly! 100%
buy it, drive it to the ground, at end of life, repurpose battery as home power backup
I'd imagine even degraded 40kWh battery will be far far more valuable than say E10 compatible car today which will be almost rusted and wrecked by next 2 decades due to E20+ blends
True, but theoretical. I am yet to come across a commercial solution for power back up involving ली ion batteries
Hahaha! Nirmala Tai!
As a lawyer, cant you file a PIL asking the courts to disallow calling BaaL as BaaS?

Thanks for the analysis. Will be very helpful for users. And it could vary depending on use case.
@@motorinc I dont think that it will vary in the users favor. All 3 loan options mentioned in the video will take their cut regardless of how much you run the car.

1. BIGGER BATTERY 50KW
2. UV CUT GLASS
3. SUN SHADES in the back.

5. Buttons for headlight/orvm
5. Give option for speaker's/ seat option's (Some people need good padded seat)

So last month i was deciding between the windsor, nexon and curvv…
I ruled out nexon as it was built on an old ev 1.0 platform, and it's a 1 year old (2023) mode compared to the curvv and windsor.
Congratulations DS! Thanks for letting us know how you made the decision. Keep us posted on your life with the car?

Guys, Lifetime warranty is lifetime warranty of the part i.e. if the manufacturer said lifetime warranty of the part is 10 years then post 10 years you are out of lifetime warranty. As per MG, I think the battery lifetime warranty is 10 years.
It was covered well as usual and the final summary was 100%.
I just visited MG and did test drive windsor, few observations from my side
1) car is well built both from interior and exterior.
Thanks N for your analysis!
So I actually went out and checked the windsor, there are some really easy tweaks they can make to the UX to improve the experience.

Very good conversation & some great insights as usual ! Good going ..

2 - yes. It’s like any loan.

Thanks for joining in!
Hey team!!!! car reviewers, all over India, should listen to your presentation. Very comprehensive, informative, and critical. Wonderful ....
Thank you DrS for your time spent with us. 🙏🏾
@@motorinc love.. thanks
Did they give you any timeline about the windsor with 50kwh battery pack?
Nope. They are working on it… that’s all that was said.
Watched so many reviews for this car. This one was most well explained in terms of "baas" part.
Thanks for spending time with us SD!
Which is the best practical and spacious ( for business purpose) car for city use between mg Windsor and Nexon ev
Nexon is not Spacious, forget for business purpose... Windsor is much more roomy.... go to the showroom and check it out...
I love how amazingly shumi does the summary 👌
❤️
1 hour video - Initially, this made me think if I will get my ROI out of it?
But i must acknowledge, I thoroughly enjoyed the episode..
Keep up the good work of being honest and sharing transparent facts
Thanks so much SM!
Lovely... Thank you so much for detailing like on how the boot measurements and how it is for tall ppl due to underfloor battery board.. etc...
Glad it was helpful @karthikkarunakaranmenon6785!😊
Absolutely!
they should launch the 50 KW variant soon
Leaving a comment because it’ll help with the algorithm. Great stuff bouys!
Thanks AS! Appreciate it.
Good Morning Motorinc... Wishing the whole team Happy Dussehra..
Heya SS! Morning! Wishing you and the family Happy Dassehra too!
This is really a great car by MG for Indian family.
Hey V! We haven’t dived into the 3-60 programme. When we do the view.
@@motorinc keeping my eyes and ears open 🤩
Sometimes these conversations help me sleep. It's so calming 😅
Hope you had a good nap! 😃
Thank you for the review, gentlemen.
Thank you RM for being with us!
Hey D! You can try YT Music. 👍🏽
I enjoy your conversation, while watching I feel like I am part of conversation with my friends
Thanks for joining us!
Even the video is more than a hour, still you people make it soo good so here we are to see it.
Hey MI! Thanks for being here with us.
Considering bluid quality and safety features, What do you think its NCAP rating would be?
Crazy informative video👌🏻👌🏻
Thanks R!
Had been waiting for this video for so long!! I'll enjoy the next hour
Thanks for waiting DR!
@@motorinc I really enjoy your content. Keep up the good work guys. :)
great video guys!
😁
WHAT?
Thanks J for the analysis!
Insightful dissemination
Is this car will also be sold in Vijay sales and Reliance Digital
