Hi Crompwell, I was wondering if there is a way to save your blender preferences to let's say a file or cloud save which you can then insert into a newer version of blender. I ask because I find it annoying that I need to go through change my preferences to the way I like it every time there is a new version of blender?... this includes how I set up my startup file.
Sorry I didn't see this until now. Yes, you can extract your preferences. Sometimes, new installations of Blender will ask you if you want to migrate your old configs to the new setup. If so, follow the prompts. If not, then you'll have to do it manually: On a Windows machine (you'll have to search google for Linux or Mac), they're usually stored in this path: C:\Users\YOUR_USERNAME_HERE\AppData\Roaming\Blender Foundation\Blender\VERSION_OF_BLENDER You may need to set hidden files to be viewable in order to find this folder. ! Before doing anything, I highly recommend making backups in case you run into any issues ! Take the contents of the old version's folder (should be config and scripts folders) and merge them with the contents in the folder of whatever version to which you're attempting to migrate. Just keep in mind that some things may break depending on the updates in the new version (or if you go back to an older version for any reason). The bigger the gap between the versions, the more likely things are to break. If you notice any weird UI stuff, try to use the default config and see if that fixes the issue. I recently moved onto a temporary machine and this worked perfectly for my setup. Startup file and all. Hope it helps!

All I want to know is how to transfer old saved stuff to the new versions. I'm trying to get my 3.2 stuff to work with 3.4
I’m using 3.3 LTS. What issues are you having?
