My mom introduced me to this song about a year ago and it has made me appreciate the music that she listens too and all the cool things she did when she was a young adult. In a way it makes me excited to grow up and experience such amazing things that will be memorable forever. This is one of my favorites and it will never get old. This will be something that I will pass down to my child like my mom has done for me and hopefully they will do the same.

Very nice things to say about your mom ... hopefully, your child will appreciate it as much as you do! Best wishes.
1:50 the girls here could be my mum in 1994. Time passes only once, it's so beautiful and sad at the same time. Combined with the music and their expressions I'm almost crying from a mix of both.
Oh his brings back sweet memories of my early twenties. I had just started going to pubs/clubs/venues and always listened to James when I home from a night out. Good times.
saw them perform this at Lollapalooza 97 and even though i was only there to see Tool, I wont forget when the lead singer dude walked through the crowd hugging people and singing the chorus to this song, it was fucking awesome
out of everyone who played at Woodstock 94 its always James who stands out for me and I will always remember.Right when he went on the kaleidoscope blotter LSD I took for the 1st time in my life and I was 16 at the time started kicking in ! I had the fucking time of my life that friday night and will never forget hearing James when I first started tripping balls.
@@68majortom Right, I tripped on LSD and shrooms countless times when I was young 16-late 20's and I never had a bad trip. But I've seen my fair share of them and even had to stop people some good friends from doing dumb shit that would get them arrested or some from harming themselves.I've been around people who have scared the hell right out of me the way they were acting or talking. That's why it's so damn important being in the right setting with the right people / good friends be it the first time you trip or the thousandth.
Who?! Not sure where u heard that James were always playing that time on the Sunday afternoon after Johnny Cash i went very early to be at the front for james so saw JC aswell bonus...never saw or heard of Who u say lemonhead?🤷♂️
Actual footage of me dancing at Helter Skelter United Dance on Saturday night and explaining to my mum on Sunday affernoon why I'm still dancing like this... it's the tune!!! 🤪🤷🏼♂️🤣❤️
I was about to type some comment about the lack of flags - you beat me to it! Innocent days perhaps where people were more into the music than feeling the need to wave a flag about...
Maybe, but as you sit at your media device questioning it, they sang it in front of tens of thousands of Glastonberries and a *really* great time was had by all.
youngs good, james are good, drugs are good, getting old is shit. enjoy your drugs and james while you're young, its better that way, otherwise, reminisce....and take drugs...
james kicks ass..i love their debut record stutter. its a shame james let the money and arenas get the best of them..but still make solid music. whiplash was great too..
Well, it is often true but does that make it a "quality lyric." Say w/ most men "he only pees while standing up" but I don't know that that would be a quality lyric.
I remember basking in a glow of happiness and joy when they played this (I was there) one of the best Glastonbury festivals
oh the 90s... best time of my life
I wish I could have lived then tbh
😅still my best time to
The drummer, as always on this song live, is awesome.
Bloody brilliant! I am now 39 years old but I feel young again when I hear that song...!

This song was ahead of its time. Little did anyone know there that this song would soon become iconic.

Saw these at Courteeners last year and they didn’t play this song. My heart has never been as broken at anything.

For sure it does! And good ones
Was there! Great year.
My life omg

Maybe, but as you sit at your media device questioning it, they sang it in front of tens of thousands of Glastonberries and a *really* great time was had by all.

Tiempos aquellos
Top tune
I've met one of the guitatists. Such a lovely bloke :3
I was there - sorry to mention it....oh and the weather was sunny.Still Paul Weller was there - so it wasn't all good....
If you only know this song from American Pie, that’s ok. You found it in the end.
The guy was Joaquin Phoenix turning into the joker at the end, what performance!
I was there 🤪
Never knew Robbin Savage played the drums
fucking mint! manchester Legend!
Is Twist and Shout, me apuesto lo que sea que James se ha basado en Twist and Shout de The Beatles !!!

ME too!!!!
james kicks ass..i love their debut record stutter. its a shame james let the money and arenas get the best of them..but still make solid music. whiplash was great too..
Back when Glasto had no annoying ‘please look at me’ flags!
awsom ;-)
the things i'd do to be there..
hey dave do you remember this night you lost the car and we had to wait til tuesday to find it ha
eeeeeeeeeeeee eeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Oh well, good for Jesus!
I don't know if it is the drummer or the rhythm guitarist (as w/ the Stones live), but whoever set the beat, set it too slow.
Well, it is often true but does that make it a "quality lyric." Say w/ most men "he only pees while standing up" but I don't know that that would be a quality lyric.
Baggy tastic
Trying to dance like the late Ian curtis of joy division
She said I'm so obsesessed that I'm becoming a bore OH NOOOOO
Wow, only one girl who comes in the missionary position!
Lmao 69 likes ;)
He does a little spaz dance at the end, lol.
James is one of the very, very few groups that sound ok live. Live music blows.
Love James...just a shame he's as flat as a pancake during the choruses
+matthew payne Exactly what i was thinking. Great song but those choruses were god-awful.
+WillieWagglestick without a monitor/earpiece & especially at a venue that large- that's the best you can hope for
Emma Twiddy I'm well aware that James is the band name, I'm afraid i just don't know the singer's name from the top of my head.
Can't believe its been 19 years since I watched this wow!
