YES!!! OBLIVION CONTENT!!!
Ye
Stop right there !
Unless it's the weekend or your day off. Gaming at 9 pm means you're a sad fucker.
@@babagandu xD Oblivion memes.
Wow Mason. This is really impressive. Never stop doing random crap like this, I love it.
not really dude moved the camrea
Mason. I remember when Black Ops came out. Hehe
@@ryanclemons1 haters gonna hate. He did more, but the camera thing wasn't done before for some much difficulty involved, if you even paid attention, that is. You do something then. 💀💀🤡🤡🤡
@@eyegot2sh1tncuhm38 Death clown.....Are you going to kill me.....with a clown?
@@ryanclemons1 then do it then? Oh you probably couldnt until he told you how. Hm.
This is AMAZING!!! Fantastic work
thanks man!
Honestly, man. I was thinking yesterday, I wonder what's happening with The Cantina? Glad to see you back.
Oblivion never gets old for me, Love that game
Wish I could say the same :(
if you could only play one game for the rest of your life it's gotta be oblivion
I can't play oblivion. Not because it's bad but just because the goblins scare me and I never get past the first part
@@lestat305 ok that's tragic
Globbophobia
@@lestat305 I agree.
I find this funny since it's relatively common to find first-person mods for 3PP games, but I can't remember seeing any like this one that go in the other direction. I mean, there probably are, but it's gotta be fairly rare. So props for creativity!
fallout 1 is getting a boomer shooter/doom mod. its more of a doom wad but it has quests and shit so its pretty cool none the less.
Now we need third person mod for isometric rpgs like Divinity OS2 and Baldurs Gate
@@Tacdelio wow, and I thought isometric games wouldn’t translate that well into a doom wad
To solve the camera issues inside buildings… If someone can make it so a singular cell with multiple stories (eg walking into a 3 story house with low ceilings) can be split into 3 cells via their connective stairs and putting a doorway up to each like most CRPGs already do, it’d work.
I’m sure this is already thought by you, but if someone would do this, it’d take this to (no pun intended) another level.
Dang dood, wow. Your script for this, particularly your analyses toward the beginning are so freaking cogent, and, the scope of this is impressive, and, fun. Further, it feels like your editing (while I've never found it lacking) is more refined now, I'm loving it. Thank you so much for being a creator.
17 years later, Oblivion is still becoming the greatest game of all time.
Not even close N’wah
Oh my god no, it has been 17 years. What the fuck happend
@@HansWurst1569 It's ok, that means we're about halfway to Elder Scrolls VI!
@Warfox I just want the "fun" back in quests. Skyrim is a great game and all, but where's the quest where you go into a painting? What about a Dark Brotherhood that's delightfully, cheerfully insane instead of just a bunch of edgy bastards? Sheogorath instigating mischief in a Khajiit town instead of therapy for Pelagius?
@Warfox we need Daggergall's procedural open world where going from one end of the map to the other end takes A REALTIME WEEK.
In Arena, it took an actual month to go across the entire Tamriel continent.
Very interesting video and welcome back
The day I’m wondering where you’re at, and you drop a vid. Glad to see you posting.
I've been playing Oblivion for years and this legit looks like a different game, the power of a camera angle
Better solution than cloning an NPC, would be have an NPC that teleports to your location that wears a copy of your armour then after exiting diaglogue it teleports to a hidden cell. Sure the character will not look like yours when armour is not equipped, but from a top down perspective it will look similar enough when armour is equipped
This is awesome! I actually kind of liked the dialogue camera once you got rid of the zoom, but it still went into first-person. It reminded me of some older rpgs where the character's portrait would pop up when you interacted with them.
As someone that's tried to get into oblivion modding recently, I salute you, shit ain't easy. Especially since a lot of the old websites with info have been shut down or have outdated (or just plain wrong/contradictory) information.
Please keep us updated if you do any more to it :D
Being a writer myself I think make a quest mod would be nice but learning how to mod is harder than making a game from 0 with your completely different world, characters, combat and so on, its just isn't worth the time for another quest mod out of millions even if the writing is phenomenal
This is so unique and cool thank you for your constant dedication 🎉
always wanted to see this! dropped off your content a while ago but this video was funny as hell and reminded me why i subbed all those years ago
By far the most unique modded content of anyone on here. Every video is a banger. Keep being you, man.
This was beautiful to watch. Love seeing Oblivion content!
This right here is why your channel is one of my absolute favorites. Keep it up, man.
thanks man
You are the one from my dreams...
Hodd Toward what are you doing here? Shouldn't you be off exploiting Morrowind? 😅🤣
The Return of the King
I really enjoyed your explanation of coding and why the devs made some of their choices! I was always too scared to try the creation kit 🤣. Love your work!
Best video you've made. Love the modding vlog style please moooore
Good to see you back man. I've missed your videos.
You're the man bro, glad to see you're still making videos
i love how you never change mason. ur contents always funny and nostalgic af
Lol that's so creative, Sir!
I've been following your channel since I started playing oblivion in 2021, and I love your oblivion contents. Keep up the good work, Sir! And I wish for your wellness and success ofc!
Isometric is NOT just "from above", a top-down game isn't even isometric by definition. Isometric has a specific definition, and to cut out a lot of it, it's that angle. The "Isometric video game graphics" wiki page is actually pretty solid.
Exactly. Isometric means parallel lines never converge, whereas in perspective, they do (more realistic). It's a math term but it absolutely makes sense when talking about games and their depiction of 3d space. Almost every 3d software today can switch between the two modes in the camera views.
Isometric was used back in the day because the 2d graphics of the games with "that angle" could more easily support the illusion of 3d space with an isometric style.
Perspective would've required more sprite art or an altogether different style or technology.
Would love to see you put together a small team and make a full game (doesn't have to be huge)
I'm a dev and I'd 1000% make a video game with the cantina!
What a fun experiment! Hope you can keep working on it, it seems really fun!
Bro legit searched your channel yesterday i was like its been a while since I seen this genius.
This is awesome. Amazing work bud. 👏 👏
Been waiting for Cantina to make more oblivion content. Now I can binge it while eating lunch :)
Awesome work dude!
This is incredible!! You made a really cool version of the game using a bunch of different mods that you then further altered to work better for your goal! That's freaking amazing!!! Great job!!! I would personally love to see more stuff like this, if you have the time/energy to make more, but as always you do you! I hope you're doing well, Mason!
Actually everything was written and made by me in this mod.
@@TheCantinaChannel Oh dang!!! That's even cooler!! Even greater job!! 😁😁😁
Idea for the issue mentioned around 8:30 or so...
Rather than check and spawn a new clone every time... Spawn one clone and then have it teleport back and forth as needed.
Thank you for making oblivion content dont stop
I love your Oblivion vids brother
I love your Cantina comments brother
Really cool vid, instant sub
Classic RPG Oblivion hardest difficulty playthrough LETS GOOOOOOOO
I want this! Man... amazing work.
Very cool! I just saw the brand-new promo for the new online game! Looks very cool. Your video and theirs are on top of each other in my feed. Your video was out 2 weeks ago. 2 and 2. Haha. 4 real. Lol.
Welcome back!
Imo, part of Bethesda magic® is to be very close and being able manipulate objects in the world. Thus why I believe that its First-camera focus is its biggest strength, even if you play in third-person: it makes the devs focus on making the world more detailed and interactable than any Third-person game (just compare, for instance, with Witcher 3's). You can see the same trend in world detail in games like Kingdom-Come: Deliverance, Prey, etc.
Thats really freakin cool. Thank you youtube recommendations. The one thing to really take it to the next level would be somehow implementing a massive loot list with Diablo levels of random loot.
Was just wondering when your next vid will be! You made my day
me, who never really played oblivion: MUST WATCH CANTINAS OBLIVION VIDEOS
I'm genuinely impressed how far you took this. I can't even comprehend how long and frustrating it probably was to deal with all these mods and coding. I can't even get 4 Morrowind mods to work correctly. Well done Sir
Would love to see this become a series
This dude is my childhood channel. Don't ever stop doing what you doing Mason!
Just realized I have that LoTR chess set, just haven't bothered to learn how to play chess lol
love you Cantina
Just started Oblivion for the very first time last week and Im hooked
DUDE WTH THIS IS AWESOME!
all the trouble you have to go through to do one simple thing is the most relatable part of this Oblivion modding adventure
Love the video, can’t wait to try to play it. Just a note though:
Birds Eye = directly over. Isometric = at an angle.
This can be seen when you draw a dungeon on an isometric grid, it forces the perspective to be looking at the corner of any 3d cubes as opposed to directly at a face.
Cool video man
This kind of mod needs to be on a standard essentials list for all "RPGs" the camera angle is reminiscent of staring down at the tabletop or when you're playing toys as a child.
Appreciate how much Pathfinder there is in this video. Great games
This is phenomenal
This is pure love for the game
Wow, RUclips actually recommending me a good video. I was surprised to see the view count wasn't much higher though.
As a side note, I feel like you could do a great Tony Soprano impression.
This looks cool, I'll try the mod!
So my thought after seeing all the problems you have encountered would be not to change the camera but change the character permanently (like what you did for the dialog), i.e. make the player actor no clip into the roof and place the dummy actor on the ground for all gameplay. I know in Skyrim it is possible to directly control another actor with console commands whilst not sitting within their view (have not tried in oblivion).
Although this might have its fair share of problems.
RETURN OF THE KING
Finally, a new video 😁
Cool man, thanks!
Great video! (:
wow, this is amazing and a great Idea. If you keep improving this, I can see it getting really popular.
The amount of times I've manually moved my camera to a bird's eye view to pretend that I was actually playing a CRPG ...
Yes! I always kinda pan the camera out as far as possible in oblivion and Skyrim and make it look isometric-ish. And wished it could be like that, like elder scrolls/Diablo. And you just made it happen. Nice!
Love your Oblivion videos bro
For years, I was dreaming of a concept like this... now I will have to reinstall Oblivion!
Honestly, I want to see more
very well made!
Bahahaha Im so glad someone else is putting CameraCommands in to good use!
Will try asap.
good stuff!
This is cool! Do you plan on releasing a video with you playing with the mod at some point? I'd love to see more of it in action.
Great video.
The camera "flicker" gave me Ultima Online flashbacks. The days of gaming online with dial-up....
freakin' Legendary!!
Great video! Outside of Oblivion, Arena and the Morrowind gameplay, I didn't recognize the other CRPGs you shown throughout the beginning of the video. What were those so I can check them out?
I don't like isometric cameras in RPGs, but your suffering in trying to do this earned my absolute respect. 👍
Impressive... in many ways, some of them even good!
There is a camera mod for Morrowind which lets me zoom out and make other adjustments, and I can turn it into an isometric/top down rpg. It looks AMAZING. Not knowing what to do with dead/removed NPCs has been something that devs have dealt with for decades. Ultima VII had a special place for dead NPCs - very similar to how Bethesda deals with them.
Ok now I'm interested
Isometric and birds eye view are two different things.
This is really weird because I was literally looking for a mod that did this for skyrim yesterday. I love Crpgs.
To get the tabletop RPG experience into CRPGs we can indeed look at the classic D&D CRPGs like Baldur's Gate, Icewind Dale and Neverwinter Nights.
OBLIVION never gets old i still play that game
I’ll be curious to see if this mod takes off
Insanely cool mod
amazing
Gold content
fantastic
with fallout and the elder scrolls, I used to (and sometimes still) pan the camera all the way out for a few seconds to live the "what if" scenario
I wonder if engines are unable to delete them so that's why they relocate them?
If you mean the NPCs, I believe it would cause crashes, but that's just my best guess.
@@TheCantinaChannel yeah the npc. Would be great If they can say yes or no without a long winded explanation.
Morrowind has objects placed around every corner as well as ring the size of my pinky finger, through 1st person so trying to make that birds eye view would be a pain.
