Nice, nostalgic feelings! Been a user since late 10.3 / 10.4
I actually started out at a similar time in 2007 with the same OSes as well!
@@NobelTech when you started using it i was being burm
Sad life 😞
@@NobelTech I started using tiger since when I was born
My parents were using Windows Vista until 2017 when we got an iMac with Mojave lol
I started right on system 1 with an original Macintosh in school
Really loved how you used the appropriate system font when presenting each version of macOS! I really admire your attention to little details like that, it helps make your videos super high quality!
Thank you! I did the different system font strictly based on Apple’s branding. They used Garamond from late 1970s to 2002!
@@NobelTech did you use Inter or SF Pro for the new systems?
@@LoganT547 SF pro
@@NobelTech huh interesting, whenever I create concepts or anything I use Inter since it looks nearly identical and is FOSS. Plus on my Linux machine I don't have access to SF Pro because it's proprietary
@@LoganT547 You can actually use the SF Pro font by downloading it directly from Apple's site. Then you can use dmg2img to convert the dmg to an img file, and then you can extract the contents inside that disk image file
Oh, I think I remember using Snow Leopard or Mountain Lion on MacBooks in first grade!
Time flies...
Indeed
Time flies(Apple Event) xD
Same here
I've been using Apple computers way before Mac OS X, and this video reminds me a lot of memories... wow!
One thing that is missing in the video, is that from day 1 (and still until now) with Mac OS X, you can set background pictures in your windows, I remember it was one of the first features I've tested back in the day.
Great video indeed!
I bought a Mac for the first time with the M1 Mac Mini. Never been a stranger to Apple products but I've always been a Windows user.
Love how modern the UI is with macOS 11
I remember my science teacher had Mac OS X Lion. But it still brings be back towards the time I was first introduced to macOS X with the PowerMac G4 MDD, shipping with Jaguar ootb. Words cannot explain how nostalgic this video made me feel.
And to think, I’ve started my Analysis of macOS 10 show around about the 20th Anniversary. It’s absolutely incredible how things have evolved over 20 years, and the way you’ve eloquently showed this
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it!
When I got my first mac Jaguar was the bomb. Actually never tried a Mac before, just saw screenshots of Jaguar and fell so hard in love, that I bought an eMac without ever seeing a Mac in real life until that point. And here we are, a lot of years later, typing away on my M1 MBP. Thank you for the nolstalgia, Martin!
Time flies by, I still remember OSX Lion and Mavericks, the Zebra wallpaper was my favorite lol
I’m very nostalgic! I remember setting up my mac waiting for the intro that plays! Have been a user since 10.5!
10.5/10.6 arguably has the best intro
Never used a Mac other than the odd public access Mac back in the early to late 2000s, and I really appreciate some of the UI you find on macOS, in fact have adapted my Linux desktop to mimic some of them where I think they make sense for me. Really great stuff.
Ive been a user since the early versions of 10.7 and man it is nostalgic to see this again
macOS Catalina: The dashboard disappears
macOS Big Sur: New notification center that replaces the dashboard
But why Big Sur and not OSX 20
@@iicrxtical4241 "OS 10 20"
1. They don't call it OSX any more
2. The version number is 11
3. 10 or 20?
Idk
I not a Apple nerd
Catalina: BYE ITUNES GET OUT OF MY OS
Pure Nostalgia! Thank You Martin for such awesome editing!
My first Mac run MacOS 8
I miss the old design of macOS.
Same. The Aqua interface is very iconic
@@NobelTech I like the aqua that you are supposed to lick it
I have never seen such beautiful operating system. I love Marcos Big Sur so much and enjoying by using it
Yes, it's now named Marcos Big Sur.
Mac OS used to be so cool to use, the new flat design just doesn’t have the same edge anymore.
All my favorites are from the flat era
MacOS 10.5 was the first MacOS that I used, personally, and honestly that's what set it in stone that I prefer Mac over windows
I liked the non-flat Mac more. Felt more true to itself and the icons honestly were more creative than just a flat icon ;-; but yeah the features added are crazy nice.
No
I feel like that too, but they couldn't stick to the old design. Things were changing and the skeuophormism theme started to become outdated.
Your videos are a great source to learn about macintosh
Thank you!
I love how Microsoft Words, Excel, Powerpoint used to look like!
I grew up with Mac OS X 10.6 snow leopard back in 3rd grade in the computer lab ahhh so many memories
Funny how the reason they changed from big cat names to california landmark names is "they ran out of big cats" didn't stop them from using Cougars again for 10.8 (10.1 was also named after cougars)
My first computer was a Power Macintosh 7100-80 running System 7.5.3 with the Copland visual elements modded in. Some of these do take me back, though.
It went from a happy child to a depressed adult 😪
3:28 wow, that's the current specs my mom's imac has! but its 21,5 inch and late 2013
Thank you, Apple. #thankyouapple
They improved a lot with Big Sur
I still remember that Computer clan music...
They were one of my first inspirations after all :)
first mac ive ever had is the one I'm using now, its the m1 air, I've used Catalina and Mojave in the apple stores, I don't think ill ever go back to windows.
Mac looks so cool until when you know you have to go through multiple right click menus in the menubar. I mean can't you just quit by pressing the red button not by minimizing. Sorry have used ios but not mac so don't roast me
I wasn't using MacOS avidly until Tiger rolled around, and then Leopard and Snow Leopard came and what I was used to for a good long time.
I'm like, 5 months older than OSX itself and it is really weird to see that Leopard and such was so different despite not really being that old.
The time machine skewlmorphic design looked cool af
The song takes me back to when I was about 10 to 13 a hard rock fan and always listening to these type of music while playing online 2d mmorpgs. just loveley.
In my opinion, the first versions are the most beautiful. Then the design of the interface became simpler and simpler (except for animation). The latest versions are similar to the iPhone or iPad, that is, MacOS has lost all individuality.
My first Mac was a Mac Plus (1986), running Macintosh system 3. The system fit on a floppy disc.
And now an emulated Mac Plus can work inside a modern Mac!
Been a Mac user since 9.2. I just Love the flat design that came back with 10.10. I really wasn't a big fan of Aqua at all. Great movie and nostalgic throwbacks. Thanks!
Agreed. Classic MacOS still looks great to me. The brushed metal era of OS X has aged terribly.
Finally someone who appreciates flat design! 3d design still looks cool, but it's outdated, unnatural and if done too much - ugly.
L opinions. Flat is boring and its been long overdone when literally everything nowadays has mimicked the flat design. Bring back Aqua and skeuomorph
I hated when they changed the logos from Mavericks to Yosemite. The new Safari Logo will never be the same for me.
I love it!
what a journey!
Indeed it was!
I'm Korean. My English is not perfect, and there can be errors in sentences or misspellings. There may be a mistake in the sentence.
It's amazing that Mac OS X hasn't changed in 10 for 20 years since it was first released.
I know this is late but what virtual machine program did you use? And how did you get the aspect ratio in 16:9?
I know that Mavericks isn't too old, and everyone here is talking about nostalgia, but that's when I started using macOS. Been smooth sailing ever since that first day I got a Mac.
Mac is just clearly better Old is gold buddy New subscriber ♥
now comes the time when apple ruled the whole os world with this one 2:42
I just got my first macbook this year and I'm so happy with it.
The new versions of MacOS is just looks... FLAT.
I remember using mountain lion on the schools iMac in the computer lab in kindergarten in 2012 and we would go on Safari and go to a website called “StarFall”. And that was the only time I used Mac until this year where I finally got my first M1 MacBook Air after years of wanting a Mac.
Dude I remember StarFall!
I went from Snow Leopard to Big Sir. the last Mac I used before my M1 Air I just got was the 2009 MacBook white unibody. its nice that 12 years later, I have only spent the difference of 500 dollars in comparison to the cost of that 2009 MacBook, and have an extremely better computer too!
That 2009 MacBook can run Big Sur with patches + graphics acceleration. It still has plenty of life in it.
@@NobelTech true, but mine died 5 years ago. Lol.
My Mac journey started in 2003 with an old Performa 5200 running Mac OS 7. Then my parents bought my a 2nd hand Clamshell iBook G3 dual-booting with Mac OS X 10.1 and Classic 9.2.2. In 2006 I got the first Intel Mac mini (configured with an Intel Core Solo CPU) and running Tiger. I got a 'Penryn' MacBook Pro in mid-2008 - it was known as the 'steak griller' cause of the high temperatures it reached; 10.5 ran just fine on it but I didn't like the 3D dock. Then I got a 2010 iMac with Snow Leopard, an 11" MacBook Air with Lion and a 12" MacBook that I sold after a couple of weeks (cause of thermal throttle). Now I'm using Big Sur (Bug Sur, err...) on a 2016 13" MacBook Pro.
honest opinion is that fundamentally, the macOS software hasn't changed much from the 10.0 software
macOS has been epic each release!
They really beat the personality out of macOS over the last decade. Quite a shame.
Big sur was trash. The best oses were after yosemite
New video!
I subbed you
@@oracity What?
Talking of the emoji?
I know its : yt :
@@footballuniverse4768 lol
Wait how do you do that?
I have a mac os Snow leopard usb stick! Nice video!!!!
Very good video.I like Mac OS
I loved the way Snow Leopard looked, it was much more beautiful than actual mac os
Superior Icons in Mountain Lion . Going backwards since then .
been a user since mountain lion, always loved that "snow leopard ish" look to the system, although i don't mind big sur.
Been an user since Lion. Still High Sierra remains my favorite since it’s the last of the classics. It can run both new and old software.
I like the old Aqua look.
What is that clear button on the right corner in the earlier versions of osx
Wow, the nostalgia...
I remember using my iBook g4 with Tiger, the memories...
Mac OS X 10.3 Panther was the first version with like the one eye and half of the smile wasn't slightly blue and Mac OS X Yosemite was the first with simple icons
Edit: I was wrong it was Yosemite not El Capitan
Wut but on the tumbnail the one of the left is the same logo than on my DS Lite, the R4 card, the second slot
This is giving me Computer Clan Software Showcase vibes
i love the music
every other version: 💨🪐🏃♂️⚡️🦾💫
high sierra: 🧍♂️
did you using mac mini M1 ran virtual macos?
FUN FACT: Actually macOS never been oversimplified.
In my opinion MacOS Catalina was the best looking MacOS version.
I used to use Mac OS X, but now that computer is finished. The power button doesn't work anymore, even when charged.
I might use a VM that uses Mac OS to enjoy the memory...
Been a user since like late 2016 and now im using macOS catalina
My favourite Mac os is snow leopard because that's was the version I was using when I found my love fir video editing,
If you ever feel useless
Remember, there used to be Internet Explorer for Mac
Anyone know what comes after Sonoma?
Is there a way to emulate the old versions? Wanna screw around myself and see the changes
Use QEMU-System-PPC for 10.0-10.4.
@@NobelTech Thanks, just tried. Pretty cool stuff
The new macOS Monterey has arrived. It's a minor update, but personally, there were many updates that I was very happy with.
Will make a new evolution video soon to reflect this
@@NobelTech 👍
i missed the brushed metal aqua design
Only the mail icon don't change xD
how did you manage to run 10.3 ?
1:09 - 1:29 Nostalgia
macOS futurized after high Sierra
my school computers are still on macOS 10.13 High sierra and they are probably not bothered updating it to macOS 11 big sur
I'm a Windows user since using Windows XP. Now Im using Windows10PRO edition
I have been a Mac user since 10.1.5 Pretty nostalgic
Wrong actually 10.15😂 but still pretty nostalgic😔
You know you can just edit your comment, right?
1:56 my frst mac os
why are you only counting mac os x
what about the macos 1984-1999
Happy 20th Birthday to the contemporary macOS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You forgot all the Mac versions before the modern dock aka the Mac equivalent to MSdos
I get that Big Sur made things more consistent, but I think its icons are honestly super boring and ugly. I think 10.15 had such a nice balance in detail.
*me as a Windows user who wants a Mac:*
Interesting.
But what about the other mac os 9? :(
song name?
10.10 was evolution
Been a user since Yosemite
OS X 10.10 Yosemite if people use this software you can update in settings
Me: Mom, can I get a macOS Catalina?
Mom: We have a macOS Catalina at home
macOS Catalina at home: 4:04
Rip
But it’s almost 40 years old!
Tiger has the best design
Kids who own a apple computer - you old guys were so lucky cuz you had the aqua theme
sorry for my mistake actually a is a vowel so it is an apple computer
My first version was 10.8!
