Amy’s subtlety switching between good and evil is so good! The Bell Toll ti signify it is such a good cue! And “Badder” has joined the ranks of classic catchy Disney Villain songs. And I am SOOOOO GLAD Idina got her solo, my GOD! She absolutely SLAYED.
For me, it makes sense why Idina/Nancy didn't have a musical number in the first movie. At the time, she was from our world, and in a similar emotional place as Robert. She's not going to really have the confidence and whimsy that it takes to make up and sing a song on the spot. Now, however, being free and having lived in Andalasia for a while, it's perfectly normal for her. (Honestly that's a cute idea - thinking about the first time she must've joined Edward in song, probably really nervous about it then, but then growing accustomed to just casually singing her heart out lol)
The original actress that played Morgan actually had a cameo in middle of the movie as a villager that reminded Giselle about the festival. And on a side note, Idina Menzel actually auditioned for Giselle in the first movie but when she was given the role of Nancy, she was actually relieved she didn't need to do any singing.
As someone whose mum passed when I was 23 and that was 7 yrs ago, the moment between Morgan and Giselle near the end had me sobbing… my mum used to say stuff like this to me… made me miss her so much
I love that Edward had to ask Nancy who wasn't born in adalasia if the platter only made food appear. You can tell she truly rules the kingdom and loves it to know everything about it.
It's giving me wanda maximoff vibes when wanda wanted her husband and kids back so she used her power's to get what she wanted but there was consequences and she went mad. The girl in this movie wanted her fairytale life back, she got it but now it's putting everyone else in danger.
I love the fact the movie was focused on the mother/stepmother and daughter instead of the adults. Morgan doesn't see the world as fairytales and rainbows anymore, she's a teenager and has a different outlook on things. And miss Adina gave me Elsa and Marlene GREATNESS. Her voice is soooooooo powerful
To me, Enchanted is an absolute classic that is hard to beat. This movie was a solid sequel, though. It was great to see the 2D animation like the first! I didn’t feel the songs in this were as catchy as the first, but they were still good. Overall, I enjoyed the film and would recommend it to others!
As nice as they try going Broadway they gave us too much songs. Love power and badder was the only two I liked. The animation was nice but it felt too polished like watching descendants cartoon movie. The first one was more like Tiana hand drawn. I hate how they used hand drawn iPad screens lol. Other then that the movie is a 7/10 for me
It truly was great to see the 2D animation in this. And we’ll be seeing it again in Disney’s movie “Wish” next year. “Love Power” was truly the best song in this movie. I almost cried during that.
I'm particularly impressed with how she was able to subtlety display the growth of her turning more wicked and how she was able to flip each time the clock struck.
Love how no one got killed in this one unlike most Disney Classics, it’s like 101 Dalmatian’s ending the villain doesn’t dies, but in here, they made peace with one another.
Tbf, that's generally what happens in the real world. You either work things out with sm1 you have a problem with or you learn to ignore/avoid each other most of the time. An actual fatal confrontation is more the rarity than the norm.
Robert (Patrick) had a storyline (and song with James Monroe Iglehart and Ann Harada) that were cut after test screenings. I'm hoping it eventually gets released as a Deleted Scene because it's an amazing song.
Enchanted is my favourite movie even at 25 years old, so I was very excited for this sequel, but a little nervous too. I have to say I loved the storyline of this movie a little more, but I kinda missed Giselle and Robert in a weird kinda way, just wish they had more scenes together, but that's probably because the whole enchanted movie they're together. However I understood why they focused on Giselle and Morgan's storyline, I also loved Morgan's song, Gabby who plays her has a beautiful voice, fit for a Disney princess. I loved this reaction too ❤️
Agreed. I feel like Disney probably got scared that a film like this wouldn't do well at the cinema in this day and age and that's why they made it a Disney+ exclusive. But I feel like this is something that would be a lot more fun to experience in a cinema surrounded by other people
From the twist onwards, the film becomes really good I think. I enjoyed it but I was hoping for more. I feel like they should've got Kevin Lima back for this. He's actually got experience with Disney animation and I feel like there was something in the original film that made it an instant classic that was missing here. I don't know if he would've been able to bring that something or not though. Also I wish Edward was in it more. He was the best part of the original and it sucks that he has less time in this. At least Robert is allowed to be more goofy and they let him sing here which kinda makes up for it
I wouldn’t say that the fairy tale aspect of the story didn’t distract from the plot so much as it took the problems Giselle was trying to solve and pushed them to the extreme degree. Giselle and Morgan were having communication problems, and it got worse with Giselle becoming the evil stepmother. Robert wasn’t finding satisfaction in the commute for his job, and now he leaves home constantly in search of daring do’s. Morgan was feeling isolated in both the move to a new place and a time in her life where she’s trying to figure out who she is, and she’s further isolated with neither of her parents really being there for her. You also see it with Maya Rudolph’s character running the city and everyone else trying to appease her; the problems that existed in reality get dialed up to ten in the fairy tale.
I saw that was part of the wish's effect. It reminds me of how obvious the troubles in fairytales are. There's less nuance bc the main conflicts are made to be extreme and outright to the audience (in the same vein, there's always a single, perfect solution that also lacks nuance to these conflicts in fairytales as well).
This is a good sequel that keeps what made the original work. Amy is so good as Giselle and the rest of the cast did well as well. Not as good as the original but a worthy successor. Badder was amazing and the best scene of the film and hope it gets a Best Song Nomination.
Man, knowing that this will be the last film with the current Disney logo before we see their new logo with Strange World to ring in their 100th Anniversary, this logo really went hard as the last one by using watercolor animation for this final new logo.
Same here whoever is bashing this film must be so cold hearted. Yes the songs are no That's How You Know or True Loves Kiss but I guess if I heard them repeatedly I'm sure they will stick to me. My favourite song in this is Love Power. I cried and cried my eyes out. SOLID SEQUEL 8 OUT OF 10 4 STARS.
Loved this movie.. of course it made me cry like most Disney and Pixar movies lol!!! Amy Adams is great… Also this made me miss 2D animation. Love you guys xx
I don’t get why people didn’t like it , sequels are never as good but I loved it it was so fun and cute and as a mom to a 13 year old girl I definitely cried.
I think we could've had your suggestion of Robert being the voice of reason if spell happened when Robert was outside of Monroeville bc of his commute and he (and the other commuters) was stuck being the only normal one at first.
I love the concept of careful what you wish for, it might just come true. And in fairy tales, Giselle a stepmother, has to become evil. I wish the execution was better. I didn't like it so much. Maybe comparing it to the original is not fair but it didn't have the same magic as before. Also, I think it took too long as a sequel - this would probably have worked better if it was like a year or two after Enchanted.
Up until the wish takes place, I was honestly blown away by this movie. In Enchanted, while Giselle was a fish out of water and you felt for her, the focus of her misplacement was put mostly on Robert. Initially a disruption of his confort with a bland life, which ends up being the fairy tale spark he needed to trully be alive. It's part a the reason Enchanted worked so well. In Disenchanted, the focus is put directly on Giselle and Morgan. That relationship felt so real. How Morgan can't feel free to do and to be who she is while living with Giselle and her desire for a perfect fairy tale life, while Giselle can't help to be this way. It was super mature and quite interesting disection of that character. Eventually the spell took place and the movie leaned into the satirical fairy tale elements, losing some of my interest, but that ending came back full swing for me. Not gonna die on hill for either Enchanted or Disenchanted. But I'm not gonna lie, I'm quite impressed in the way both turned up.
I really enjoyed this movie and I watched the first one when it came out when I was younger and i really enjoyed that film a lot and what makes me sad is I looked on the rotten tomatoes score and not many people like this movie which is sad cause it’s pretty good and i really enjoyed this sequel but I do favor the previous movie more but the sequel is still very good and lives up to the first one
No with Patrick because he was the dad for most fairytale stories the dad usually dies and usually in a heroic way and that why the evil stepmother turns evil. Soo they were just showing him doing crazy heroic thangs
The original Morgan is in this movie she has a speaking cameo . Not sure why they didn’t get her cause even if she can’t sing they can dub her like they did with the lady in the greatest showman who sings never enough . Was well upset to find she didn’t actually sing it cause the voice matches her so well.
Honostly this movie was a bit boring to me but I do love the Amy Adams Maya Rudolf villan song and it's one of my favorites. Idina is a proud Jew just like me and she is amazing. I saw her live on stage in a play called If/Then and her voice is so much better live than it is on screen. Yes she is known for Rent and that show made her career but she of course is the voice of Elsa and travells the country giving concerts as well. I love how Amy does the switch in her face between being good to suddenly evil she does that so well. Funny how you say she is a theater actress in this one because that is where amy's roots come from she started her career on the stage like Idina herself as well. Grate reaction as always guys.
Okay so i kinda teared up at the ending! if she Thanos snapped I would have cryed! and the ending I was like mmmm but did they get there life back???? MMMM or is it another universe thats the same but only small things are different
25:45 Which is all of them - yes the early ones were only thinking about love but that still counts as wanting something more because falling in love can symbolise leaving their girlhood behind and becoming a woman. In any case it's something different from the life they've led so far and they're able to imagine a different form of life for themselves

how ironic that it wasn't the case for disenchanted lol
The original Morgan appeared in this sequel was a surprise. I never thought she would be part of Disenchanted. Her cameo is so unexpected.
@@justinmv023 She actually bears a decent resemblance to the girl they chose to play teen Morgan.
As someone whose mum passed when I was 23 and that was 7 yrs ago, the moment between Morgan and Giselle near the end had me sobbing… my mum used to say stuff like this to me… made me miss her so much
This might be one of those rare sequels that was actually really good and continues the story of the previous film
I agree to!!! I don't get why critics paned this movie so hard
Really good? It was really bad
All sequels continue the story of the previous film💀
Says who. They took away all the adult humor which is what made it watchable as an adult. It’s a boring musical now.
I think it kinda ruined first movie. Like Giselle was completely different here than in the end of first.
Saw this movie last night and laughed and cried at the same time! Giselle is too pure for our world!
This movie was so good. Was sobbing by the end
I love that Edward had to ask Nancy who wasn't born in adalasia if the platter only made food appear. You can tell she truly rules the kingdom and loves it to know everything about it.
The fact that I cried, the nostalgia really hits me.
Props to Greg for bringing Nancy to react to her own movie.
It's giving me wanda maximoff vibes when wanda wanted her husband and kids back so she used her power's to get what she wanted but there was consequences and she went mad.
The girl in this movie wanted her fairytale life back, she got it but now it's putting everyone else in danger.
Me too! It gave me Wanda vs Agatha
I love the fact the movie was focused on the mother/stepmother and daughter instead of the adults. Morgan doesn't see the world as fairytales and rainbows anymore, she's a teenager and has a different outlook on things. And miss Adina gave me Elsa and Marlene GREATNESS. I love that all the princes in these movies are just pure himbos
I watched this movie yesterday and it was soooo good. The cast, especially Amy Adams, was fantastic.
Nice Frozen easter egg at 30:22. Let it grow, let it glow by Idina Menzel who also do the voice of Elsa in case you didn't recognize her ;)

This movie was very fun, Amy Adams is so great in this movie

I just love the smiles on the faces while Idina was singing!
Fun fact, I met Idina Menzel a month ago. Easily one of the nicest people I’ve ever met.
I loved it. And the daughter did a really good job. So many times the kids/teens just come off really annoying but she wasn't, a first.
I’m shocked this never went to theatres tho this felt like a good movie

Amy Adams is a QUEEN! How can someone switch between a kind innocent mother to evil stepmother so effortlessly ❤️❤️
The actress who played Morgan was really beautiful and adorable. 😍😍😍Anyone agree?
I also thought she did a good job portraying a teenager perfectly.
They replaced the original from the first
the first thing i told people about the film is that they handled morgan being a teen very well. as a teen, very relatable
